Thinking about gifting our films to someone for Christmas? Be sure to order timely as Postal and Custom Services around the world have a huge amount of parcels to deal with around this time of the year, which might delay the delivery times! Good news is: all orders above 50€ will receive a free expired 12 exposure film - either Tesla 1, Tesla 2 or Texture (while stocks last). Orders above 100€ will also receive one of our brand new 2019 calendars.

When Christoph Liebentritt told us, that the pictures that he took of the Austrian Band Farewell Dear Ghost were being used as their record artwork and concert poster, we were more than excited. Why? Because they were shot with our Kolor film. And they're excellent of course, since Christoph is a fantastic photographer. We didn't want to miss the opportunity to ask him more about his work as a photographer. Here's what he had to say:
-Where are you from, how old are you?
Hello, my name is Christoph Liebentritt, I am 30 years old and I originally come from a small town in Lower Austria. But I have been living and working in Vienna now for more than 11 years.
-Would you care to tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to be a photographer?
I could now write a lot about my love for the visual, about the attempt to catch people and moments or about the creative process or similar things. The truth of the matter is that photography entered my life as a hobby and gradually grew into something very significant. Now I work quintessentially as a photographer full time. A rather pragmatic approach in which my degree in Social Studies became  irrelevant.
-Do you professionally work as a photographer?
Yes, I do, and at the moment I can’t actually see myself doing anything else in the future.
-Why do you like to take analog pictures? Do you shoot digital as well?
For my daily work, I do take a lot of digital pictures because of financial and logistical reasons and because of time. However, my heart really beats for analogue photography. I love the smell, the texture of the films and the slow pace when working in an analogue way. With free projects and when I travel I exclusively take analogue pictures. I am particularly happy to have only recently delivered my first analogue advertising campaign!
-Do you have a favorite subject to photograph? If so, why?
I like doing photo reportage best. It’s incredibly exciting to immerse yourself in a world you normally would be excluded from, if only for a certain period of time. The range is as huge as it is fascinating. From a juvenile prison, the State Opera Ballet to a SM-studio or a cemetery for pets.
-What's your favorite analog camera?
At the moment, my favourite is the Contax G2 for 35 mm. For the middle format I like using the Mamiya 645afd ii
-Do you have a favorite revolog film?
Yes, I have, my favourite film is definitely “Kolor”.
-Do you have any future projects you'd like to talk about?
Fortunately, there are always projects going through my mind that keep me busy. A lot of them become real, some of them have to go. Interested? Well, then stay in touch!

ARTIST FEATURE  - Detlef Honigstein
We were following Detlef Honigstein's amazing fashion photography for some time now and were extremely excited when Detlef got in touch and shared a bunch of wonderful pictures that were all taken with revolog films with us. We couldn't let the chance pass by to interview him for our artist feature. Here's what he had to say:
-Where are you from, how old are you?
I'm from the universe and my age is just a number
-Would you care to tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to be a photographer?
I started to take photos when I was a kid, I designed my own cassette covers, photo collages & Selfmade graphic elements that I printed with our shitty printers at home. Later i saw many other photographers work and i always stood behind them feeling my own vision of what's was happening there and so I started to follow that feeling of I want to do something myself, saved money for a good camera and teached myself how to use it, I love manual construction  and I also keep on asking everyone I know about these things
-Do you professionally work as a photographer?
Sometimes. As I am a professional in another department of the creative Industrie I try to keep photography as my playground of being wild & free, not serving anyone. I only do bookings that leave me free in what want to create.
-Why do you like to take analog pictures? Do you shoot digital as well?
I actually started digital. And more and more I felt my time stolen by the work afterwards.I like to retouch too and it's fun to play around with photos in photoshop and to create a look and fix things. But I have no time for that and I'm to picky to give it away.. hahah  Also i celebrate more and more the realness of my models and motives, no need anymore of color correcting, crops, body morphing ... it's so refreshing for the brain and it gives me a huge satisfaction to have a finish result after process and scanning. To choose the film before and so decide the look.  I need no computer to do my work, that's great
-Do you have a favorite subject to photograph? If so, why?
Woman and cars. I see a lot of beauty in that
-What's your favorite analog camera?
I'm cheesy in love with praktica cameras from 1972-82 . It's something about these so called East German Minolta and it was the first analog camera I've got as a present from my grandfather..They work well with good zeiss lenses
-Do you have a favorite revolog film?
Yess! Rasp, Kolor and Streak
-Do you have any future projects you'd like to talk about?
I'm looking forward to start over with my new Mamiya. Can't wait to rock it and grow with it

You still have an APS camera lying around but no film to use with it? Here's the solution. We've found a few expired packs of Fuji Nexia 200 ASA film and added it to our shop. As always with expired films: overexposing is better than underexposing. As a rule of thumb, overexpose one stop for each decade it's expired. ____________________________
