this is the first fma fanart i've done in... god knows how long. unfortunately for some reason tumblr does not display the colors as they are on my tablet, so if anyone wants to see it as it was meant to be seen, here's a google drive link. (still a bit compressed, but i really want the colors to come across well.)

this is based on the song the world is smiling on me and the illustration in it by ferry or @/nopanamaman here on tumblr. i've always associated this song with cos!al specifically and i've always wanted to make something like this so i'm very happy!

if anyone's wondering what the array behind al is, it's the one ed uses in his final sacrifice!

i'll provide it along with standalone photos of alphonse. if anyone wants to use anything for whatever reason, feel free! credit is appreciated, but not required. go ham!

Fave headcanon of the year!

as we can see at the end of fma, after Ed gives up his alchemy, he starts dressing like some kind of normie. probably because his cringe (affectionate) little emo swag getups were made by himself cause no one else in that whole country dresses like that.

I like to think he never outgrows his horrible (AFFECTIONATE) taste tho! learning to design and sew clothes is just more effort than he's willing to go to. especially as he grows older and busier.

but you know what's very easy to customise? a cane.

he doesn't often need one. just when his automail needs fixing or updating, or when the weather is fucking with him, or when he simply just has a bad pain day.

and THEN. he breaks out his sick as fuck customised cane with the elaborate silver goat skull handle and flames painted on from the bottom up.

imagine a guy dressed like someone's philosophy professor rocking up with the gaudiest edgiest cane you have ever seen.

(his children HATE it) ("god dad you're so embarrassing!!") (this only delights him even more) (Winry pretends she's on the kids' side but who do you think made that custom goat skull handle, huh??) (Winry loves and supports her cringe husband)
