WHAT IS PECULIAR ABOUT YOUR SOUL?
Your soul is... Bleeding
It is bleeding all the time. Sometimes it's a gentle, almost unnoticeable trickle. Other times, it drips from your display and floods onto the carpet. It frequently needs to be dealt with- wounds that never seem to heal must be resutured and rebandaged. No one is sure where exactly the blood is coming from... but it does not seem to be of short supply. You are screaming. You are in agony. Every twitch sends another rocket of white hot pain through you. You assumed life after death would be painless. You assumed incorrectly.

Colette had realized it partway through her shift that day; on her last grocery run, sheâd forgotten a few things. Oh well, sheâd thought, at least it was nothing that wouldnât be difficult to pick up on the way home from any old convenience store. So, she picked the first one on her usual route to quickly pop in.
The little bell chimed as she stepped through the glass door, and Colette couldnât help smothering a yawn as she walked the familiar aisles to the dairy section in the back. A half gallon of milk, some coffee creamer⌠And a package of the cookies she liked having with her coffee in the mornings, too.Â
All that taken care of, Colette started when she approached the front counter and saw who happened cashiering tonight.
âShin! Hi!â Colette beamed, the familiar face perking her up a little more already. They hadnât seen much of each other lately; not since heâd comforted her after theyâd gone through her memory together. And heâd left so quickly⌠He wasnât mad, was he?
Setting her things on the counter for Shin to ring up, Colette covered up another yawn with her free hand. She laughed.
âHehe, yeah, it was a little busy today,â she said. âI had to stay a little late to help clean up.â
Colette was going through her purse for her wallet while Shin scanned through her items, hoping to be an efficient, painless customer. Especially if he was about to clock out! âHow long have you been working here?â she asked. âI come here sometimes after work and I havenât seen you.â
Glancing behind her a little self-consciously, Colette sighed out of relief that there was no one else waiting behind her. She turned back to smile at Shin, a smile tired after a long day of work. âSince youâre about to leave, um⌠do you want to walk home together? I mean, just partway. We can talk and stuff then, when youâre not busy!â
Since it has been a few weeks, her overwhelming warm aura when she smiled at him almost took him off guard. Where did she get that energy from anyway? It was one of the mysteries heâd never knew an answer to for sure.
âAh... itâs the busy season, isnât it?â Shin expected that this was as far as the small talk would go. But Colette asked him more questions and even if he wanted to walk home together... Seems like he was the only one who felt awkward since their last meeting. But it was alright, he already figured something like that after all...
âAhaha, are you that surprised to see me working? I need to afford my living somehow, right? Well, to be honest, I started like a month ago. Itâs not my first time working in a store like that though, so I felt right at home.â If thatâs a good or bad thing, it didnât matter for now.
After Colette paid for her items, he cleared his throat to reply to her last question as well:Â âEr... I have to get my coworker from the back to get on the register now. So Iâll need a few more minutes. But if thatâs cool with you, we can leave together.â
Once Shin returned from the back with his coworker, he put his thick winter jacket on that was absolutely necessary for him as soon as the temperatures dropped like they have been lately. Ready?â Just when he asked Colette that, he had to stop once again in his step though:Â
âOh shoot, I forgot these bento boxes we canât sell anymore in the back. Would you mind waiting some more? Oh wait, maybe you want one as well? Theyâre mostly still pretty okay and itâs a great way to save some money!â

Another day, another fight against one of the greatest foes known to humankind: boredom. It led Platinum to all sorts of obscure places â this arcade being one of the more ordinary ones among them.
The only thing usual today was a rare familiar face amidst the sea of gamers, a guy now known as her next victim. And given those grand declarations of his, Sou really had it coming. Adjusting the bow slung over her shoulder with one hand, Platinum casually accepted the gun controller with the other.
âWhy would I beat myself up about anything when youâre right here?â She didnât even bother sounding annoyed or assuming a threatening posture. No, those words would do, and her attention immediately shifted to the flickering screen. The level started, but Platinum didnât seem to realise what was happening, letting the first zombie horde crawl too close for comfort. A game over straight away, right?
But she lifted the controller just in time, landing a headshot on the first zombie, the second⌠the fiftieth. The levels came and went, the difficulty increasing with each cleared part, yet Platinum stared at the screen with the same nonchalantly bored face as usual. When the game over screen finally appeared, she merely shrugged.
âHm, guess I mustâve had a bad dayâŚâ But even so, she added the letters âCPâ to the very top of the high-score list. Platinum only now turned to face Sou again, wearing the most innocent expression she could muster, and offered him the gun controller. âSorry, I didnât mean to hog the machine. Did you want to try again?â
It was kind of shocking to watch. This was one of those games in this arcade that was an absolute coin eater without giving anything back to most people. Players usually would run into a game over almost immediately on this machine. And yet... Platinum took that many zombie waves out on her very first try? How?!
âNo way!â He almost shouted out in desperation. Only after he calmed down while adjusting his beanie back, he could finally elaborate:
âThere is no way this is your first time playing this game. You must have trained before, right? And what do you mean by âhaving a bad dayâ? Iâm sure you did see very clearly how you beat my high-score, just like that!! No beginner would be able to do that!â
He would know, gaming was one of the very few things he was quite good at after all...
When the girl offered him the gun controller back nonchalantly like that, his pride couldnât just refuse at least one more chance to get his high-score back. âVery well, Iâll show you!â
Unfortunately, it turned out to be an empty threat. Even though he did come pretty far as usually, He died one or two waves before Platinum did again. How depressing... His pride as a gamer was hurt. Even more reason why he needed answers, now!
âOkay, now share your cheap tricks with me. Iâm all ears!â

KNOWING YOUR PARTNER WELL CAN POTENTIALLY MAKE WRITING TOGETHER A LOT EASIER. ( REPOST DO NOT REBLOG ! )
NAME: Haru
PRONOUNS: She/Her Iâm also ok with They/Them and if you think Iâm a He/Him Iâm laughing my ass off so you canât rly offend me, no worries about that.
PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION: Tumblr IMs or Twitter if I dunno you well enough yet and later itâs discord!
NAME OF MUSE(S): Currently itâs just Shin and Kanade, but I do miss some muses from my past lately.
EXPERIENCE/HOW LONG (MONTHS / YEARS?): I think I started around 2009/10 ??? god I feel so old.
PLATFORMS YOUâVE USED: Animexx (a german website rip) and later Tumblr. I also sometimes (rarely) use discord. But only for one on one stuff, I donât like discord mfrps... itâs too crowded and fast paced.Â
BEST EXPERIENCE: Hmm... Itâs hard to pick one. But I say if youâre this excited for a thread that when your partner tells you theyâre writing a reply- it makes you all hyped up-Â thatâs one of the best feelings ever!!! That or rereading these threads and enjoying what youâve written in the past all over again.Â
RP PET PEEVES/DEALBREAKERS: godmodding/ People who decide to write things your muses does/thinks and itâs really... ooc. Purple prose is hard for me to understand. I donât want to read something over and over again to make out what is even happening lol.
FLUFF, ANGST OR SMUT: Fluff and Angst are both good if theyâre built up well!! I need both in my life lol. Smut is not something I usually write and if I do itâs done in private only.Â
PLOTS OR MEMES: if I have to choose one itâs definitely plots, but I DO enjoy being silly from time to time too.
LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: I have troubles keeping myself short, because if Iâm really interested in a situation I want to describe well how my muse feels and explain why they act the way they do... But I have no problem if my rp partners wonât match my length!!
BEST TIME TO WRITE: Nighttime for sure, Iâm so not creative in bright daylight.
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S): What Kanade and Shin have in common, they have in common with me too... orz (mostly inside their room, introverted and awkward) But I do think I can express my feelings better than Shin does. And Iâm physically stronger than both of them as well!!! Iâm less pathetic, I promise!

psykineticâ:
It hurtsââhis pride, his fatherâs continued disappointment, and the punishment that subsequently follows. Edwardâs cheek has already begun to bruise from the impact, and he holds it tenderly, but thatâs not so important. No, not when the most damning thing is that he can understand his fatherâs anger for his failures.
Thoughts cloud his mind, more dark and intrusive with every step that leads away from the study room. And before he knew it, his eyes had begun to sting. A deep longing for his motherâs embrace urges him to follow a pattern long committed to memory that leads toward the greenhouse.
Or, at least, he would have, without a wanderer in his home asking for his well-being.  Edward startles at the sudden presence and leans away from the stranger, an onset of wariness filling his expression. Â
âIâm fine ⌠Itâs none of your business âŚâ  He mutters, quickly attempting to hide the blemish. No one can learn of the abuse that happens behind closed doors. Not his mother, definitely not an outsider, especially one likely visiting the man himself. If Asker found outââno, the thought would be too frightening to consider. So he tries for another topic.
âDid the butler let you in? Youâre here to meet my father, Asker, right?â   Edward points down the warm halls he came from, hoping the other follows the direction and leaves him alone.  âYouâll find him in the study room.â
âButler? No, I didnât meet anyone here so far...!â He stopped in the middle of explaining himself rather fast though. This boy was nothing more than a kid after all. Relying on him for answers would most likely not work out. Not only that, the way this kid behaved and avoided eye contact... It was somehow relatable to Sou. That behavior and the bruise on his cheek combined... He mentioned his father before, could it be...?
Sou proceeded to clear his throat and as if this was a spell, he changed his whole demeanor with just that. Instead of looking stressed and confused like before, he tried his best to relax more and smile at the shorter boy.
âI- I mean, a butler didnât greet me because I am something like a butler myself, you know! Actually, yeah. âAskerâ, your father, asked me to take care of that wound of yours. You see, it would be quite troublesome if it would turn purple and other people in this manor would see, yeah? Donât worry, this stays between us, promise. Uh... by the way, whatâs your name again? Your father told me of course, but I forgot... How clumsy of li'l ol' me!â
Did he feel bad for lying to an innocent kid like that? Of course he did! But Sou was well aware how hard it was to talk about being mistreated by someone close to you. Especially to a stranger! Still, someone as young as that boy shouldnât have to deal with something like that all by himself... So if lying could get him to trust him a little more, it was worth a shot!
âAnyway, I think we should ice that, mind showing me where the kitchen is? Since Iâm new here, you know... a-haha...â

Noah heaves a sigh of relief.Â
It seems that Sou believes him enough to talk to the living weapon without much verbal judgment. However, despite the attempt, there is only silence that follows. Of course Clamor would play this trick, again. Considering the El Search Party still doesnât know about his existence, it would be no different here. And yet, cold sweat runs down Noahâs back, fearing Sou might suddenly change his mind about the situation.
He tightens his grip upon the scytheâs handle, threatening to give it a vigorous shake. Itâs been more than enough times now; this joke is getting too old!  âStop doing this, Clamor! This isnât funny anymore! Iâll leave you behind if you donât speak.â
At once, a frantic voice echoes telepathically,  âWah! Okay, okay! SheeshââHmm âŚÂ Sou, was it? A-Am I really getting rusty? I canât feel a thing!â
See, the boy isnât lonely or talking to an imaginary friend!
âWAUGH!!â Sou jumped back from Noah and his âfriendâ to get some safety distance as soon as he heard a strangerâs voice coming out from seemingly nowhere. Was this one of these magical things he couldnât make sense of? He truly would never get used to all these different kinds of people in this world.
âH-huh?! How could that... your weapon really can talk?!â So much to Noah being a lonely boy with an imaginary friend. Now he almost feels bad for pitying him just a moment ago. Still, could an object, even if it could talk, really be considered a friend?
With cautious steps, he approached âthese twoâ closer again. Daring to place his hand again on this so-called Clamor.
âAhaha... I... apologize, Clamor.â A somewhat nervous laugh left his throat. Wow, what a day, now heâs apologizing to a weapon of all things... âOf course, I was merely joking about you being rusty. I just wasnât certain that youâd respond to what I say.â Now his gaze switched from Clamor to Noah.Â
âH-how long do you have this thing already? And why is it alive? W-wait, is that the reason why you always carry it with you? I always assumed you solely had it for self-defense...â

Sou was pretty proud of his high-scores. And that even with games outside of his computer and consoles save file locations. The arcade he decided to visit today was just another place he would call his territory because of that. (Well, besides that dancing rhythm game, but a game that required that much stamina didnât have any right to be called a real game anyway.)
While playing today, he did recognize a familiar face that he walked into before. Platinum... that girl didnât really seem like someone who was interested in this sort of activity to him. Though, she had to be here for a reason, and if that reason just would be simple boredom.
âDo you want to try this one now?â With a wide and arrogant smirk he turned to the girl that seemed to have been waiting in line behind him. âA pro-tip of mine in advance: Those zombies move slowly, but thereâs so many of them that you wonât be able to make it, if you wonât aim for the head of every single one of them.âÂ
With that warning, he handed her the gun controller that was used for this kind of game. âGood luck though! And donât beat yourself up too much when you run straight into a game over.â

What Color Character Are You?
Red Character
Red characters tend to be both quiet and observant as well as loud and dramatic. They are often brash and impulsive, and tend to act on instinct rather than planning ahead. They are quite self-sacrificing, often veering into self-destructive, and they push themselves to their limits trying to succeed.Â
They tend to be stubborn, and it might take a lot to change their mind. They have a hard time expressing their feelings, and may come off as either emotionless, self-absorbed, or perpetually angry.
They donât have a ton of friends, and when they do, itâs often by circumstance rather than choice (although they grow to fiercely love their friends). They are not usually innately good at fitting into social situations, and can be awkward and out of place in them.Â
They can come off as unhumorous because of how sincere and honest they tend to be, but tend to just have a dryer, sarcastic sense of humor. They do often think of others first, but their motivations for it might not be entirely selfless. They usually have a hard time conceivably lying, and are quite earnest without meaning to be.They put their full effort into what they do, and push themselves to improve at all costs.Â
They get easily defensive, and feel like they have to prove themselves to earn anyoneâs respect. They have a strong sense of internal morality and high standards for themselves. They also hold others to their internal high standards, which can cause a lot of conflict if not worked out. They tend to have bad relationships with their parental figures, who were usually either absent or abusive, and contributed to their toxic view of themselves.Â
At their core, red characters want to be loved and accepted, but have often been denied it, leading them to build up lots of defenses. Others need to be patient with them and give them a safe space to be themselves as they open up and begin to flourish.

It had been way too long since he and some other strangers were abducted to this strange island. And survival was hard... especially for someone like him.
All the other survivors, even the kids, were good at at least something... scouting and gathering resources, tending to the shelter or cooking, hunting for food or fighting against wild beasts and monsters. Sou on the other hand needed help with almost everything! As much as he hated to admit it, there was not a single task he was particularly helpful with.Â
Obviously, there was no way Sou would show his weakness to anyone. He tried his hardest to maintain a facade of a capable adult. After all, a useless weakling would just get left behind if the others would realize how much of a burden he was.
Absentmindedly, his eyes wandered around the beach the group was currently resting at. Unfortunately for him, his eyes got stuck on a girl he was rather suspicious of. How she was carelessly playing around with a stick like a child was truly impressive. He wished he was at least half as careless as her. But seemed that he was staring at her for too long, then the seventeen year old already spoke to him.
In surprise he jumped up a little. As if he forced himself to avoid eye contact with her at all cost, he focused on the messy pictures the girl had drawn into the sand before.
âN-not really...â
This was Sara Chidouin after all⌠Out of everyone in the camp it had to be the most annoying girl starting a conversation with him. Sara was a highschooler but already so full of herself - any task she took she succeeded at, any person she spoke with fell under her spell. And the way she was looking at Sou as if she was constantly pitying him for being such a weaklingâŚ! No good would come out of talking to someone like her.
Then again... running away from her challenge wasnât the power move he wanted it to be either. And come to think of it, what in the heck was she drawing here anyway? It looked really bad.
âJust out of curiosity, can you even tell me what those drawings are supposed to be? Because to me, it looks almost like some kind of satanic ritual. If that was your goal, very creative indeed, miss Sara. Although somewhat gloomy as well.â
@reipasentoâ
While others may find the serene atmosphere a time for relaxation, she does not think it soâ â Does not believe it to be, rather. She steers far away from the waves grips, only watching from afar. Behind her, she can hear the typical chatter expected of her peers. A bicker here and there, even a word or two of encouragement.
Sara diverts her attention from the water, letting her eyes fix on the sand below. She sits down cross-legged, fingers trailing atop the warm sand. She feels childish, almostâ â Perhaps Kanna would enjoy building a sand castle to divert from the otherwise absurd scenario. If she asks her later, sheâd hope to do so with a smile on her face. The last thing she wants is to wear an image of weariness for someone like her. Still, she cannot mask her emotions.
She picks up a small stick, doodling shapes into the sand. Itâs a weird type of calming, even if her doodles are nothing spectacular. Far from it. Still, the silence lasts only for a moment longer. When she looks up, she is met with the gaze of another. The man who wears a smile difficult to read, in fact. âWhat is it? Did my drawings catch your attention?â

âUm, no ⌠Iâve never had that sort of hobby. And Clamor isnât a toy.â
He didnât expect something like this would catch Souâs interest. Though, in all verity, it would be surprising for someone outside of Elrios not to be. However, presented like this, and at this moment, Noah isnât sure how to approach the subject without seeming strangeââabnormal. Â
His lips thin into a line as he looks down at his weaponized partner, silently questioning for approval. The eye embedded on the scythe flits between boy and man a few times before Clamor gives a large sigh in resignation. Noah subsequently nods in agreement, a brief smile on his face.
âThis might sound crazy, but I need you to believe me, Mr. Sou,â  he says, setting his gift bag aside to raise the weapon forward in demonstration.  âThis is Clamorââhe is my ⌠partner. Even though he is a pretty useless weapon, only I can hear him talk.â
âFriendâ seems too large of a word to use in front of someone admirable, despite Clamorâs protests about being useless. But what if Sou finds him weird for talking to a seemingly inanimate object?
âUm ⌠but you can talk to him, too! You just need to place your hand here.â  Noah gestures to the blade expectantly.
With a raised eyebrow, Sou listened quietly to what Noah had to say.
... All of this sounded way more embarrassing than just admitting to owning a decent figure collection at home. Was he talking about an imaginary friend?! And not just any, he thought his weapon was his friend?
â Maybe Noah was lonelier than it seemed. Perhaps even lonelier than he was! Thinking of it like that, it almost made him feel sorry for the teen-boy. For him to go even as far as calling this thing his partner... It really was sad.
It only got more concerning when Noah offered him to talk to his so called close friend as well. Should he play along a little longer or burst out laughing and make him realize what absolute nonsense he was babbling about here?
Before he would brutally burst this nice boyâs bubble though, he decided to at least try it first. Not that he had any expectations of being able to talk to a fancy sword. But it would help his argumentation later on!Â
âYeah, yeah, sure. I just have to put my hand here, right? Well, hello, Clamor. So... Whatâs it like to live inside a rusty weapon like this?â

...And another yawn left his mouth. Shin disliked the day shift at his new job for a good reason. Not only was the pay worse compared to the later shifts but getting up early in the morning was hard as well. Impatiently, he glanced once again at the clock on the wall. At least it was already past 6 pm, soon he would be able to head home and continue this new game he started the day before.Â
The common beeping noise this store made when another customer entered the convenience store stopped him from continuing his daydreaming though.
Whatever, this will be his last customer for today. With that self-comforting thought, he decided to check on that customer that was in front of the dairy aisle right now from behind the counter. Wait a moment! That slender and short figure with long golden hair... Yeah, there was no doubt about it, this was Colette!
Somehow this realization made him nervous! Their last meeting was weird, wasnât it?! Then again, which time they did hang out together didnât turn out strangely emotional so far? Something was off about her, or maybe there was something off about him! Either way, he just knew that each time he get close to this girl, his emotions turned into one big mess.Â
Did she still remember that he did run off last time in haste without any real explanation? Would she comment on it today? Ugh, heâd better think of good excuses before she would come to the counter.
Unlucky as he was, she did just that way quicker than he expected. Come to think of it... He never told her before that he started to work as a part-timer here. Not that it was any of her business of course! But still, she must be surprised to see him here...
âGood evening, miss Colette.â A nonchalant greeting compared to the earlier anxiety he felt on the inside. âDidnât know youâre shopping here as well!â
Another casual remark before he started to scan her items. He usually didnât pay a lot of attention to what people bought or didnât buy. But this was different because it was someone he knew.Â
From the things she selected, he could already guess that it was a small grocery stock up one would do on their way home. Yet, he still decided to ask: âDid you have another long day at the cafe? Haha, earning money can be a real pain, right? Luckily, Iâm about to clock out any moment now as well!âÂ

When Sou woke up from another nap, he found himself in a big building. Was that some kind of manor? Waking up and feeling lost in an unknown place was something that happened too often lately to his liking.
Whatever, not like complaining will bring him back home. Which was what made him move through the multiple rooms this building had.Â
After climbing up some unnecessarily long stairs, he needed to take a breather. Ugh, where the hell was even the exit of this place? Even while looking around multiple times, he couldnât witness any butler or maid a manor like this usually should have either.Â
Just when he was about to give up and keep on looking around by himself, he finally made out a voice from someone other than him. Once he spotted that person, it turned out to be a small kid at the other end of the hallway. Not the help he was looking for, but better than nothing!
âHey, kid. Can you tell me what this place i-â Sou stopped in his step to approach the boy any closer once the kid turned around and started to look at him. Not only did he seem rather familiar, but there was also something off about his expression as well. With one of his tiny hands, he was holding one side of his swollen cheek. His eyes looked kind of red too, as if he had been crying before.Â
âW-wait, er... are you alright?â This was bad! Why was he hurt? To be honest, if he had any choice, he didnât want to get involved in this. Yet walking away from a boy close to tears wasnât anything he wanted to do either.
âDid you get hurt?â Now bending down to the boyâs height, he tried to get a closer look at his bruised face. âN-no need to be afraid. Itâs going to be okay. You can tell me what happened, you know.â Big words, he had no idea what happened and how he was supposed to help that kid. For now, he at least wanted to get to know what actually happened to him.

âYeah⌠sorry, unfortunately we kinda mix the guac up before we put it here. I donât think weâre gonna make another batch any time soon, otherwise Iâd just mash some avocado for you and call it a day.â A lot of people had dietary restrictions nowadays, so to an extent, these sort of asks were becoming more and more common - Aether figured it was just as hard for them to eat out as it was for the staff to prepare the food so as long as they werenât asking in an overbearing sort of way, it seemed to even out.Â
âOh - so no guac?â It was pretty standard fare to start loading up on the ingredients that the customer wanted, since there was a buffet line of sorts and maybe the other would find something else he liked as they went down the line? Still, for just a rice bowl for now⌠he was all about giving people a fair share of things, especially when it was getting increasingly more expensive to eat here. He stopped in the middle of his second scoop when the guy spoke again.Â
âUh.â Well, guess his lunch today would start off with white rice⌠or he could just put it back but also probably not. Internally he sighed, externally he just hid it behind a (hopefully) contemplative sounding hum.Â
âWell⌠I guess the sandwich shop nearby sells some soup? Like I think theyâve got tomato soup and some chicken noodle.â Another customer for the sandwich chain⌠not that he really cared, but maybe they should consider opening up for some other options besides what they had. And really, he didnât need a justification for all this! There wasnât anyone in the store besides himself and some people in the back⌠though he couldnât help holding back his commentary the more the other spoke.Â
ââŚis soup enough to bulk up like that? Iâm not really a gym or a protein guy myself, but Iâve got a couple of friends drink a lot of protein shakes and eat crazy amounts of meat. Itâs all kinda unseasoned, boiled chicken though so Iâm not sure if itâs the tastiest thing.âÂ
âFor real? Thanks, Iâll make sure to check it out then!â Well, that menu sounded more up his alley! Yet he felt bad for canceling his order like that and wasting that guyâs time. Luckily, this place still was rather empty and there was no one waiting behind him. Doing some small talk would do no harm then!
âAh, well... soups are very healthy so-â if you eat the vegetables and meat that were put into it, which he hardly did! He couldnât even continue to making up lies about why his diet was this unique before the friendly cashier started talking about his friends that could stomach that much protein.Â
To that, Sou tried to force an amused sounding laugh. Not only was he almost feeling sick by just imagining eating huge loads of meat all at once, but there also was a big feeling of jealousy building up inside of him. Â
âYour friends you say? Huh, and does their diet work? Did they become stronger? I always heard protein shakes are rather overrated myself, haha.â He didnât, they must made him feel kind of wonky.
âSpeaking of not tasty diets and protein though. I know an annoying guy that just puts a straw inside his eggs and slurps them up, just like that. Pretty disgusting, right? I wish I was making this up...â
He does make it sound like gossip, but the truth was that he did try it himself at home. The person he was talking about was quite bulky after all!! However... drinking pure eggs like that, it was too disgusting to do. But even if he could have! Unfortunately, he doubted that eggs alone were enough to look like that. Â

With the dollâs fragile appearance, Sou has a point. Noah watches him set it back in its place with relief and concern, hoping it stays that way on the trip to Kanadeâs apartment. It would be a shame if the head fell out before reaching its destination. But did the other have to tack on that comment, too?
It holds no truth, yet he cannot help but dips his head into his coat, trying to hide the embarrassment as he hands over the doll for purchase. Itâs a test of endurance to ignore how the word looms over his head until the purchase is complete. But to make matters worse, Clamor uses the opportunity to tease further, despite agreeing to remain silent for most of this venture.Â
Hey, I agree with this guy! Though I still think you couldâve found something else for your sweet girlfriendââS-Shut it!â  Noah counters defensively to seemingly no one in particular.Â
After paying a strangely dirt cheap price, he rushes out of the antique store with haste. He finally turns to Sou, pleading with a blush over his cheeks.  âIâm sorry, Mr. Sou, but Kanade is not my girlfriend. WeâreâWeâre not that close; she is only a friend.â Â
There is a muffled giggling inside the paper bag, but Noah hasnât noticed it. Instead, the boy continues earnestly,  âUm, but I should thank you for your advice! Without it, I wouldâve bought that other toy. It wouldnât have made such a nice gift âŚâ
âHuh?!â Sou let out an almost offended sound when Noah suddenly said to âshut itâ. Though weirdly he wasnât looking at him when he said it? That boy sure was an oddball...Â
âAh, is that so? Haha sorry, thatâs my bad then!â
It sure was amusing to watch how red Noah got when denying his assumption. He must at the very least like her! Well, Kanade was a very... unique girl herself, so the two of them would make a good couple. Not like Sou would meddle any more than this though. He probably caused already enough harm by helping him pick this creepy gift for her. The internet wasnât a big help this time, but as long as Noah seemed happy with his choice, that was all that mattered. (For now at least)
âNo need to thank me, really... itâs nothing.â He shouldnât thank him, not before he has seen Kanadeâs reaction to that most likely cursed doll. âI could see this was important to you and as the older and er... more experienced one, itâs only normal to help, r-right?â Hopefully, she was strange enough to enjoy the present after all. That way his lie would never be uncovered!
âBy the way, Noah... Thereâs something Iâm curious about. Earlier in the store, you mentioned the talking doll reminds you of something. I think the name you used was âClamorâ. Is that another toy? Ahaha, donât tell me, are you someone that is collecting action figures as a hobby or something like that?â

sylvarantichosenâ:
It felt like sheâd been asking so much of him today, Colette thought. Dragging him into that memory with her, even if unintentionally, then crying about it on his shoulder, then asking him to stay, then asking to sit closer to him. Colette knew Shin well enough by now to know he sure valued his personal space, and emotional intimacy, even if they were friends, was something he never really felt comfortable handling.Â
But even so, after Colette rejected herself for him, Shin instead closed the gap between them, and placed a tentative hand on her back. His movements were a bit stiff, unsure of himself, as though worried he were crossing some line despite her having asked for some closeness in the first place.Â
Her shoulders relaxed, and Colette closed her eyes for a moment, leaning into the touch. It was difficult to push aside the guilty feeling of taking and taking and taking from him, asking for more than he was willing or able to give. But in the moment, she tried to allow herself to feel cared for.Â
Shinâs offer surprised her a little. Colette opened her eyes to turn and search his; but it seemed difficult for him to maintain eye contact.
âYouâve already done a lot for me,â Colette told him. ââŚThank you, Shin. Youâre⌠a really good friend.â
She felt exhausted. Reliving that memory, being in that state, seeing Lloyd again⌠and now Shin caring for her. âŚShe hoped he didnât feel like he had to.Â
But Colette leaned into his touch, and the warmth and softness of the blanket surrounding her coupled with the gentle smell of freshly cleaned linens that seemed to follow Shin, and the feeling of his nervous fingertips slowly rubbing up and down her back and easing the tension between her shoulders, lulled her comfortably to sleep.
âŚ
When Colette awoke, her head was on Shinâs shoulder.Â
She blinked groggily, feeling light but disoriented as always when napping after a cry. What time was it? The same show was playing, but maybe another episode. Light from the sunset outside beamed onto the table in front of them.Â
Shinâs breaths were slow and gentle. Did he fall asleep too?
âSh⌠Shin?â Coletteâs voice was soft and tentative, guilty for having to wake up but not wanting to keep him here, either. His arm was still behind her, but in his sleep it had slipped down to rest loosely around her waist. Shinâs head leaned back on the couch, tilted slightly towards her, his chin resting on her forehead, his breath lightly disturbing her bangs.
It was comfortable, but the intimacy of their position made Coletteâs face pretty warm. She fidgeted.
âShinâŚâ Colette tugged gently at his scarfâa soft blue and white material, not the bright and spotted red sheâd met him in. This was the scarf she had given him, a few months ago now. And afterward, he had called her his friend for the first time.
âI-Iâm sorry. I didnât want to wake you, but, you donât have to spend the night here if you donât want to,â Colette told him, her smile bashful. âThereâs no thunderstorm this time, after all.â
Colette told him already a few times that he was a âgood friendâ, yet he never knew what to say to that, so he remained quiet. What did it even mean to be a good friend? Not like he ever had the chance to truly learn what true friendship was. Still, he really didnât feel like he did anything special to be worthy of that praise.
The next thing he could feel was how Colette leaned on his shoulder, which just made him avoid looking at her altogether. This was weird, right? The next few minutes he didnât focus on the show they were watching at all and just spent his time overthinking if he was overstepping some kind of boundary here.Â
Colette didnât say anything for a while though, and he could hear her make a unique short noise. This didnât sound like she was still awake... did she fall asleep?
âMiss Colette?âÂ
Finally, he dared to look at her again, only for his guess to be confirmed. Great, now he couldnât move without waking her up! So what was he supposed to do?!
âFalling asleep while leaning on someone like me, you truly are naive...â He mumbled to himself. Not like he intended to do anything to her, of course not! But he told her before that he wasnât a good person. That he did bad things in the past. How could she fall asleep on him like this without another worry in the world?!
While staying still like this he couldnât help but think about how warm and soft she felt. Which ironically lead him to do the same as her after all... He started to close his eyes. Just for a little while... He was tired, so resting his eyelids while enjoying this warmth wouldnât cause any harm, yeah?
...
The next time he opened his eyes again, he heard Colette softly speaking his name while tugging on his scarf. What was happening?
â...huh?â He blinked a few more times before he became more self aware of the current situation. Without another word he hastily scooped away from her. Now sitting on the other end of the couch, trying his best to force an uncomfortable smile.
âAhaha... right, right. Iâm sorry I didnât mean to stay this late.â What was wrong with him? How could he fall asleep here?! This was so embarrassing!! He wondered if Colette woke him up because she was disturbed by their earlier position as well. So much to comforting her, dumbass...Â
He adjusted his beanie that almost came off while he was napping before he got up. âIâll be on my way then. Good night, miss Colette!âÂ
It was a quick and rushed goodbye before he moved fast towards the exit to his escape.Â
On his way home, a small part of him was still worried about her but there was only this much he could do! He already interfered too much as is after all! Sheâll be okay for sure after some time has passed...
