New Dimensions | Elena & Elijah
@tobewhoimnot
Fell’s Church. It had been some time since she had graced it’s streets and the Old Wood and yet as she greeted people she’d known nearly all her life, it was almost as if she hadn’t left at all. Of course, the blonde had visited from time to time, after all, Margaret and Jeremy were there. But college and work had taken her away from the town and placed her on a new journey-- though seemingly never far from supernatural forces.
Holiday celebrations were in full swing, various decorations scattered across the town, as Elena walked with Margaret near the woods line behind town hall. It was a short-cut to where they had planned to meet Jeremy. However, a sudden.. Power seemed to nearly knock Elena over as its’ presence was felt by the Earth Guardian. It was coming from the woods, and Elena’s mind and body stiffened in an alert fashion as she looked toward the woods.
“Margaret, go find Jeremy. I’ll explain later.” Her voice was stern toward the fourteen-year-old girl while Elena’s mental thoughts reached out to Jeremy to have him take her home. Cautiously she moves toward the Power, trekking into the woods, carefully, until she witnesses the source of it. His aura, his Power, it felt like Klaus’ had, an Old One, and yet, it was somehow different. “What is an Old One doing in Fell’s Church?” Elena questions boldly.

“And what you think I’m just going to drop all my plans for the evening just to go to help you with whatever trouble you’re getting yourself into?” Elena questions, voice somewhat flabbergasted. “I think you’re out of luck. I have a paper due in the morning. Besides, there’s nothing in it for me.”

A part of Elena had always believed in fate-- at least, perhaps, when it suited her desires. Yet this belief had become challenged upon her parents deaths. Could it really have been fate that led to their car crash? Could the fates really be so cruel? Then Elena had met Stefan two years ago and she’d found herself falling, believing again. Being with Stefan felt like returning home after a long time away. It felt right and most of the time made her happy. They fought to be together, to face all obstacles in their paths, they were-- in a strange way-- easy. Yet here Elena was, not with Stefan, but with Kol, a person who while their interactions were anything but easy, seemed to understand her in a different way. In the future Elena would find herself rebelling against fate, against a destiny she was created to succumb to. And, perhaps, in her extreme will and stubbornness, she was always meant to follow a path less traveled, to tread her own journey; and this moment was just the beginning.
A fury of emotions and bloodlust assaulted her the moment teeth sank into skin. It surpassed any moment of blood sharing she had held with Stefan, though their’s had been minimal. Grip tightened as the blonde moved her arm around his neck, her drinking becoming slightly more frenzied. Elena could feel Kol, not just his body but his whole being as if it were her own. His emotions and hers suddenly merged as a sense of their auras felt as if they were crashing together. This felt like fire, like dancing twin flames coming together. It was intense and may have scared her in its intensity if she had not been so consumed by the experience. Though as her mind because to clear Elena pulled back slightly, fangs exiting flesh as blood smeared across her face from her frenzied drink. “They’ll come for me, but you know that already.” Elena states, her face returning to normal leaving a contrast with the blood upon it.
“Thank you. Thank you for letting me make this choice for myself.” Because that was what he had done. He’d allowed this to be about her by removing her from all existing external factors. And with that, while she knew there was still going to be more steps to this process, namely her having to feed on a human, she felt a strange sense of peace wash over her. She was choosing to be a vampire because she did not wish to die, but also, in this moment, because it felt more right than the notion had in the past, because it was about her and no one else.

She was glad, so glad, that in the end Damon had died to save Bonnie. Elena herself needed no more proof of his feelings about her. She would always love Damon, and she would never allow anything to diminish that love.

Chicago. It was a plan of insanity so much so that as Elena began seriously considering it, she began to believe it might work. Kol was already believed dead and after this night so would she. No one would look for them in the Capitol. Still, there was a certain level of unease within her, Chicago was in a Safe Zone, the most Eastern one of the American Nations, so there was no risk of radiation harming them or Henry but-- if war should break out again-- no. Elena stopped the racing thoughts within her mind before she drove herself mad. “Alright. I trust you and I know Elijah wouldn’t play with our safety.” That was the most agreement he would receive at the moment for she wouldn’t know exactly how she felt until they got there.
There’s a slight reaction-- a jump, when Kol touches her back before she leans into his touch. Her body feels overly sensitive and she can’t help her reactions when anyone who had been near her in recent months either spouted hate or had attempted to harm her before being stopped by slightly more rational members of the faction. “Yeah.” Elena nods, easing Henry’s little body into Kol’s arms. “Watch his head..” She reminds before letting him ease her into the car. There’s a silence which encompasses the car, fire building in intensity as Klaus security detail takes care of the scene. She supposes a body of someone close to her age and height would be placed inside but years of war and chaos causes her a certain level of indifference to this fact. As they settle into the car Elena watches Kol’s hand in hers, gaze drifting toward his and back to Henry and so forth.
“This isn’t your fault or my fault.” Elena states firmly, a need not to return down the road of blame making her voice uneasy. “They have more resources at their disposal than we realized. I wasn’t able to use my powers, they held means to prevent it. And-- there was division within their ranks. Some seemed to want Henry, for what I can only guess, but others..” Elena pauses, eyes watering slightly though she tries to hold it back. “They saw me and Henry as evil. They wanted us to die and they tried to-- to kill us but they were stopped before it got too far.” The graveness in her voice told more than her words. She had believed she would die, that Henry would before he even had the chance to be born, and she had endured more terror and pain than she had ever felt before during this time but she had survived and she had protected their child.
Kol nodded in agreement with his sister. When he’d first heard the idea of relocating to Chicago he hadn’t liked it either, but it really was the perfect plan. If they had any chance of remaining undiscovered, it would be there. He could tell that Elena still didn’t like the idea and he reached out, putting a comforting hand on her back. “We’ll give it a chance, and if you feel too exposed we’ll find somewhere else,” he reassured her, his eyes gazing over Henry as he placed a hand on the small of Elena’s back. He nodded when she suggested going to wait in the car. “May I?” He asked, holding his arms out for Henry and cradling him carefully against his chest with one hand and wrapping his other arm around Elena’s waist, allowing her to lean against him as they made their way toward the car.
Once they had made it into the car Kol reached out and took Elena’s hand in his, swallowing hard as he met her eyes. “I’m so sorry this happened to you. I swear to you, there won’t be a second time.” He took a deep breath and met her eyes, hesitating for a moment before speaking. “What did they do to you?” He asked quietly, eyes searching her face. He was almost scared to know the answer.

Golden tinted blue hues scanned the area around them, slight lines of tension lacing her features as her eyes found Henry in Celine’s arms a few yards away. Slight distraction is caused when one of the security members brushes behind her making her jump slightly though she works quickly maintain as calm an expression as possible as she listens to Kol’s answer. It was what she suspected, the obvious course really, yet it didn’t make the situation any less dire or fully put her at ease. Ironic, she thought, how they had survived a war and supposedly entered an age of peace only to find themselves more at risk than ever.
“Chicago... but that’s the new Capitol--” Elena began to fidget now, suddenly feeling more uneasy as she turned slightly and as if Celine had read what she needed Elena was handed back her child. “He can’t be serious.” Elena stated, this time to Kol’s sister. ‘You will have new identities, allies in the city, and it is the last place anyone will endeavor to seek you out.’ Celine made valid points before she rejoined Klaus a waysaway, though they still didn’t make Elena feel more secure but at this point she was so tired she was barely keeping herself up let alone able to argue the logistics of relocation when she had been out of the loop of current events for months. Months.
“I’m fine as along as I have Henry and you.” Elena replied though it was clear by the strain in her features that she needed to sit soon, accelerated healing or not, childbirth took its’ toll. “We need to get him inside somewhere, he’s going to get cold.” Elena stated, more concern for Henry than herself in her voice. “Let’s go in the SUV. At least the heat should be on in there.”
Since the moment Kol had laid eyes on Elena, he’d never once left her side. Once they had made it safely outside he stood before her, eyeing her for much longer than Davina had before determining that she was alright – physically, at least. His arms wound around her tight, his eyes falling shut for a moment. He felt as if he could breath for the first time since she had gone missing. He would not be able to bare any harm coming to Elena, and he and his family were determined to destroy anyone who had helped in the act. “Yes,” he muttered quietly in response to her question. His fingers dug into the fabric of her shirt. “Elijah is preparing a place for us in Chicago. Nik’s determined it’s the best place for us, and so long as we lay low I imagine it’s as good a place as any.” He wasn’t concerned with the location, only their safety. He glanced down at her and frowned. “Are you alright?” He asked softly. Not only had she been kidnapped, but she’d just preformed the exhausting and painful act of childbirth. “You shouldn’t be on your feet.” He had long since given up on the idea of telling Elena what to do, or deciding for her what she could and couldn’t handle, but he was too worried about her to care.

They’d moved away from the dank and terrible place Elena had been held, their son in Celine’s arms as Davina checked Elena over outside the compound she had been in. The blonde could feel her abilities slowly returning to her the further from the dreadful place she stood but she was far from fully recovered as strong as she may be. Wind whistled against trees and Klaus returned from his phone call with Elijah as other trusted members of their security team stood watch over the area. “We’re going to have to go away now aren’t we Kol?” Elena questioned, allowing herself to mold herself in his embrace as she watched men set the building on fire. She suspected she was to be believed dead, at least for now, having died in the attack on the stronghold. “It’s the only way to keep us, to keep Henry safe right?”

The Birth | Mini Drabble
@itchingtokillsomething
The dim space was small and dank and held a certain resemblance to an old house near Mystic Falls-- one where witches spirits conveyed-- which made the already stressful situation more trying. Her captives seemed to enjoy putting her into what they perceived to be her place for in their eyes she was not the mother of vampiric royalty or the daughter of an angel, she was something which had strayed its course, something that was a means to their end. Elena’s perception of time until recently had been confused, her mind played tricks on and her ability to use her abilities hindered as she struggled to protect the life inside her. A life that some believed could change the course of what was to come and who Elena would die before she allowed to fall into the self-righteous and terroristic hands of the Warriors of Earth.
When the time came, a tense and dangerous labor proved the one event which could allow her mind, her body, her soul to break through her binds providing Kol, Klaus, and Celine with Elijah remaining with Hope and Hayley at Court under strict protection. The world had changed during and after the war, perceived safety proving less so. Yet as Elena struggled and screamed, blood rang out as those who had taken her paid their due until finally the cry of a child cut through silence.
Weakened arms held a boy close as Kol moved closer, Klaus and Celine falling backward as orders seemed barked for transport and hushed voices spoke on a phone. “We new you’d find us.” Elena began, one arm reaching out for Kol’s as the other held the baby tight. One thing was for certain, no matter what the future-- which she was positive was about to change once more for them-- held, no matter what trials they faced, they’d always find each other. “I thought of a name, Henry, Henry Thomas, after your brother and my father.”

Seismic Second | Elena & Arthur
@justcrackednotbroken | continued from x
It had happened almost too quickly for her to react. She’d felt the pang of dread that came with oncoming danger, her senses more alerted, yet, she’d barely been able to use her Wings of Protection to shield herself from the collapsing building let alone anyone else. With darkness around them Elena found herself momentary thankful for it until her wings had disappeared and she became more aware of what had transpired. She lifted herself into a seated position, suddenly feeling an intense wave of chaotic emotions assaulting her from what she could only assume was other trapped people.
“Arthur?” She calls out, though she’s already attempting to find her way toward him, his aura leading her way. “Not exactly how I imagined our second date ending.” Elena stated, a slight yelp escaping her when hands met the sharp edges of broken glass. There’s a stray thought in her mind, a half-remembered memory from Earth Space Science class that Earthquakes weren’t usually this bad in Virginia on the rare occasions they happened but she supposed there was a first time for everything. “Are you hurt?” She finally questions, still making her way over.
