Democrats and other mainstream progressives have this thing where they frame more radical ideas as actually being more reactionary than their boring progressivism because it doesn't toe the party line - it's really annoying and it really shuts down critical thought.

Thinking high school was the best time of your life is not something I can relate to. That really seems like a straight thing to me.

It takes approximately two seconds on M-L Twitter to remind myself why I’m an anarchist.

Some of us on the so-called left want total prison abolition, but yeah those jokes about throwing people in gulags are super funny and productive... :/

y'all: the evil homogays police who is allowed in and out of Pride and turn away those who aren’t gay enough
real life: literal police kicking political activists out of pride so everyone can go back to waving rainbow flags and dancing to disco hits

This! As badly as I want to be able to read more, the lack of energy to do anything and difficulty concentrating on things associated with my mental illness make it feel so overwhelming. Being a grad student/library worker means spending lots of time in places where reading lots of books is expected and standard. I feel like a fraud and a failure in those spaces because I feel like I can't keep up. It's annoying as fuck to see radicals buy into that same idea that it's all about what/how much you read.
I totally support critical thought, but # of graduate degrees held/scholarly articles written shouldn't be a requirement for engaging with radical ideas.
I love reading as much as the next leftish Proletarian Intellectual/Hackademic but you gotta understand not everyone wants to, most people Ive worked with don’t wanna read. Doesn’t mean reading is bad or counter rev but like you gotta meet people where they’re at, and they ain’t in books
