AU headcanons: they sleep together early in their partnership.

1. After Donnie Pfaster abducts her, Scully needs something. She needs to be… set free. More specifically, she needs to be controlled, and then set free. Controlled, but for her pleasure. Controlled but as a paradox, controlled but she’s in charge. Sexually.

2. She asks Ethan to tie her wrists to the headboard. He won’t. He says “What the hell, Dana?” and she storms out, embarrassed.

3. She doesn’t know why she drives to Mulder’s. She tells herself it is because he’s a psychologist, because he is her best friend, because he never judges anybody, let alone her. She’s come in her pajamas. When he opens the door, he looks stricken. “I’m only crying because I’m mad,” she huffs, swiping at her eyes and stomping inside.

4. She rants about Ethan. Paces Mulder’s living room. God fucking damn that vanilla ass little shit, judging ME. “Scully.” He tries to interrupt her. “Scully, what did he do?” So she tells him what Ethan did. And even though Mulder is sitting on the couch and she is standing tall and livid, she feels tiny. She feels like a microscope slide. Mulder looks at her for a long time.

5. But then he tells her, “Come here.” And he takes her hand, and he takes her to his bedroom. He holds up a tie. “Is this what you want?” he asks her, voice rough. He holds her wrists in one of his big hands and squeezes. “Is this what you came here for?”
