Please remember that child protection agencies around the world aren’t looking for art or fiction you deem immoral, they aren’t concerned with what’s moral & what isn’t.
All they care about is whether or not a real child was harmed in the process.
Remember this when you think about reporting an artist or fanfiction writer for their works. Or the whole of ao3 as what happened in the past.
You are putting already strained & underfunded agencies under even more strain & taking up time they do not have.
You don’t have to like what a person writes or draws, but immoral isn’t the same as illegal.
So please, if you’re so concerned about child abuse as you claim to be, instead of clogging up child protection agencies’ time with cartoons & fanfiction, report any & all actual CSEM that you find to the authorities.
Canceling someone you believe is abusing or exploiting children, while it may feel good & righteous in the moment, does nothing to get the child in question out of the abusive situation they are in.
So report any and all CSEM you find to the authorities of your respective country. It’s the mature & adult thing to do, & the only thing that actually helps.

Children can find way, way worse than Kim Possible shirtless with a lot less effort. If the kid’s parents haven’t put their computer on safe search and don’t monitor their kid’s browsing, it’s not creators’ fault if the kid stumbles on something that adults are making for other adults. If you’d like to make me responsible for children and their upbringing, my babysitting rates start at $20 an hour. Pay up, OP.

OKAY Y'KNOW WHAT, I'M GONNA SAY IT!
NSFW content does not belong in fandoms for children's media. At all. Ever.
"Buh children should no be onliiiine... It THEIR fault if they get blasted in the eyes with my cartoon p*rn!"
Uh... No??? Either go to church or therapy, but stay off your computer at least. The internet isn't dangerous if the kid is searching the right things and hanging in the right areas with parental supervision. For example, a kid can google 'Dog Facts' and have hours of fun reading articles, watching videos and looking at images that are clean and safe.
SO, a kid should (IN THEORY) be able to search the title of their favorite cartoon and find clean, enjoyable fan content. Right? It's made for kids after all. RIGHT???
But if you type the name of a cartoon and 'fan art' (which kids will want to see) you'll find a few really great pieces, but depending on the popularity of the show, inappropriate and sexual material shows up within ten posts.
Sexual content should not be seen AT ALL based on children's media. END OF STORY. You CANNOT justify it. Children shouldn't be spending all their time online and should NEVER browse the web without supervision, but there should be NO issues with them typing the name of their favorite show in the search bar and finding fun fan art and content without ever being aware that there are brain dead creeps out there who find Kim Possible or whoever sexually attractive.

Some people on Tumblr are so fucking annoying going around casting moral judgements on people’s characters over shipping. Like according to them if you ship a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old that means you’re a pedophile apologist/outright pedophile. Absolutely no room for nuance, just “you’re a bad person if you ship these fucking fictional characters and everyone should block you.”
I’m seriously seeing posts where people warn their followers not to interact with people who like a ~problematic~ ship. Oh, and people insisting that pornographic fanart of underage characters is just as bad as real CP and should be reported to the FBI (absolutely not defending underage smut btw, but I’m also a rational person who call tell the difference between a fictional 2D drawing and a real victimized child).
I know The Discourse on this hellsite has always been shit but holy shit some people are actually hysterical over fictional characters. But I guess it’s easier to be a keyboard warrior over shippers than it is to confront the actual pedophiles infesting the internet.

"Anti" this, "Anti-anti" that. Why not say what they mean. People that have healthy boundaries between fiction and reality and people who think anime characters have rights.

To all the fanfiction writers on my dash...
…or future fic writers (those who are working on something to post for the future OR working on in private) or those who have retired from fanfiction but have posted it in the past, thank you so much!
It doesn’t matter if the fic isn’t from the fandoms I don’t participate in or read, or if it’s pairings I don’t ship, or even if it’s gen fic and not shippy, thank you so much for your work!
You all have shared so much of yourself in your writing and we are blessed to have seen the work that has come from your heart. Even if you don’t think it’s your best work, or even if you don’t think it’s the best compared to others, you took the time to create this thing and share it to the world and for that you deserve all credit for making that time and courage to share it with us!
Even you authors who are working on things but haven’t posted them yet! You have made the decision to post things that are coming from your heart in the future and I will tell you SOMEONE out there will appreciate all that hard work you have put in and appreciate what you have to write. Thank you for making that decision to take that step with us.
And to you retired fic writers, thank you for sharing that work with us even if fic writing is not your speed anymore for whatever reason. Your works have been cherished by someone out there, even if that person is anonymous and did not comment, and you deserve to be acknowledged for letting us have the privilege to see that for however brief a time.
Just THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
All of you, keep doing what you love.

Your wording is very misleading. It's not a matter of sexualizing children, but a matter of sexualizing fictional characters. There's nothing wrong with writing smut about fictional characters and there never will be.
Fictional stories about fictional characters aren't harmful.

I don’t know which horny writer needs to hear this but your character shouldn’t be 17

Why the hell are there people in 2020 who are comparing the theory that Dr. Doofenshmirtz is Phineas’ father to child pornography? Ugh, Charles Darwin is rolling in his grave.

@striffyisme
You’re completely misrepresenting the situation. This scenario doesn’t involve someone calling out pedophilia; it involves an immature person falsely accusing people of being pedophiles over fictional content of fictional characters.
People are being critical when they reblog it, and I’m not looking for any kind of sympathy; I’m merely calling out hypocrisy and harmful behavior. Liking certain content in fiction doesn’t automatically mean that a person likes it happening in real life; to say otherwise is to claim that DOOM and Marilyn Manson were responsible for the Columbine massacre. What you’re doing is shifting attention away from the actual problem to complain about something that hurts no one, also known as scapegoating.
The URL “freedom-of-fiction” is about all forms of free speech; shipping discourse just tends to be the most common argument to have on the internet since most people are thankfully against burning books.
Beyond that, this blog isn’t just one person; there are 4 of us.

Due to mental health reasons, Mod Sebaciel has decided that it would be in her best interest to take a break from shipping discourse. The current quarantine coupled with various other factors have left her in a state in which she is unable to currently engage in discourse to the best of her ability, and unable to currently handle it, given the nature of this blog. It's unknown when Mod Sebaciel is going to be returning, but she'll be gone at least until she's in a better and more stable mental state. Thank you for understanding.
