I miss her. Her smile and her laughter. Her hugs. But then i remember I never knew her. Never knew her touch. Nor her laughter. Nor her hugs. And nor her sweater. I knew her not but I knew her well, Catapulting down the rabbit hole I fell.

Yes yes...you'll never guess which applies to me
Re-blog this if:
- you’re gay - can read - support gay people - want to hold a match between your fingers as you wander the halls of an ancient castle because it’s your only source of light amidst the ghosts of people long past - are an antelope - or want a chocolate bar.
No one will know which applies.

Currently reading Secret History for the first time. Have a lot of thoughts. Maybe even too many thoughts.
Also, first post ever that's not a repost!

I feel like Namaari and Raya just insult each other about things they actually find attractive. Like “hello there Princess Undercut” definitely translates to “damn her hairrr” in gay panic. This headcannon has been cracking me up all day lol (since there’s a lot of thoughts in this, I bolded the actual dialogue so it’d be easier to read…hopefully lol)
RAYA: Okay we got Miss Muscles over here being a complete asshat—
NAMAARI: *smirks* Jealous?
RAYA: [ugh, no I just want to touch them] I have my own muscles, thanks.
NAMAARI: Oh really. Where? [she’s so strong and pretty]
RAYA: Excuse me?! *flexes* What do you call these!
NAMAARI: [hot] Pfft. Not muscle.
RAYA: That’s not what you’re saying when I’m beating your ass—
NAMAARI: [oh she can beat my ass whenever she wants] Beating my ass? When. When did you ever beat my ass.
RAYA: Oh take a seat lemme just recite the list!
NAMAARI: *sits back in a very gay manner*
RAYA: [why is she so attractive it should be illegal] So first we have—
NAMAARI: [I wish she’d sit on my lap] How’s it feel to be tall, Dep La?
RAYA: —I was speaking, first of all, but uh just fine thanks! Because if you’re implying that I’m short, you’re blind.
NAMAARI: But you are short.
RAYA: *huffs* Just because I’m shorter than you doesn’t make me short. Just like how you being tall doesn’t make up for your small dick.
NAMAARI: *stands, ending up very close to Raya* Oh really? Well, I don’t even have one of those so—
RAYA: *trying not to laugh* I do. A pink one. In. my. dresser.
NAMAARI: [she is so childish] Oh my—
RAYA: Mmhm. Only thing big about you is your nose, binturi.
NAMAARI: [she asked for it] Don’t forget these. *holds up her hands*
RAYA: [ah. they look soft. want to hold.] *rolls her eyes* Oh please, those are normal-sized ha— *presses her hand against Namaari’s for comparison* —Oh. Actually, wow. You do have big-ass hands, damn. [THEY WERE SO SOFT]
NAMAARI: *smug af* [she touched my hand!!!!!]
RAYA: [if she gives me that look one more fucking time] Oh don’t look so pleased, I don’t need big hands to bust your lil fang teeth.
NAMAARI: [do it then] That’s interesting cuz they’re still here. *smiles*
RAYA: They’re stupid. So are your lips. [WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT]
NAMAARI: Yeah well—what? Did you just say my lips are stupid?? [she looked at my lips omg]
RAYA: Y-yes. [ew, don’t stutter!]
NAMAARI: *smirks and leans closer to her* What’s stupid about them, Dep La? [she smells amazing wow]
RAYA: [ah, close] Oh shut up.
NAMAARI: Make me. [wait–]
RAYA: *kisses her*
NAMAARI: … [screaming]
RAYA: … [screaming]
NAMAARI: I—
RAYA: *clears throat* I guess they’re not that stupid… [I want to kiss them forever]
NAMAARI: *coughs* Yours are… nice… [wife me]
SISU: *having returned from a bathroom break like halfway into their argument* You’re both stupid. It’s time for dinner.

Is it just me but does the Human Slave Trauma feel like an extension of white privilege, because whenever any characters try to convince humans that faeries aren't bad all I'm reminded off is people telling me racism doesn't exist because they aren't racist.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this tbh, because the whole thing feels poorly handled, like the way the humans are quick to recover from years of generational trauma because a few Faeries told them they're good does not sit right with me.
Especially since anti human faeries exist in the NC alone.
Hi!!
Absolutely fucking yes!
This is a problem across all of her works, especially even in Crescent City, which I am currently rereading. The constant vilification of the oppressed (i.e. Hunt, Phillip Briggs, Grayson, Human!Nesta, the Mortal Queens --and I theorized that Shahar in CC will also be given a villain "oppressed-yet-extremist arc).
It's extremely telling that SJM has the same theme of essentially gaslighting the oppressed group into believing that their oppressor "aren't-that-bad."
Rhysand literally spews racist bullshit towards humans (almost every interaction he has with Human!Feyre, and the whole "humans breed too quickly).
The entire scene with the Human Queens was a very big cue in this. the NC considered murdering them because they rightfully did not trust the Night Court. Rhysand participated in Amarantha's reign, and then has the gall to patronize the Human Queens. Even the idea that SJM employs of them being the villains is batshit crazy. Or that the oppressed group 'secretly" wants to be like their oppressor. I'm--
HUH???
And don't get me started on fucking Jurian who is literally VILLIFIED for killing his SLAVE MASTER.
Grayson is shitted on because he rightfully... hates the Fae. The Fae oppressed the humans, not the other way around. There are no "both sides," only ONE side enslaved and tortured the other.
Feyre (or Rhys--I think they've both said this stupid shit) saying "both sides are to blame" WHAT??? How?? When??? That's not how slavery fucking works. Or even Miryam and Drakon being dubbed Heroes and Jurian is seen as a villain?? He was a slave?? How is that "madness." Like honestly fuck them. Jurian had the balls to do what he needed to be done and unjustly paid the consequences, while Miriyam and Drakon yeeted themselves off into the sunset leaving behind the still very oppressed humans by the wall. Hybern was still a threat, Amarantha, and many other generals. And they literally said bye, who gives a fuck. Double fuck them, and SJM for literally allowing a narrative that sympathizes with slave drivers/masters. I don't give two hells that Jurian killed Clythia, she was an enslaver. Boohoo. What does he need redemption for? Like????
I think the biggest offender out of all of SJM's works is CC. It's much worse than I remember when I first read the book. Hunt -- even though I don't like his character -- is constantly vilified for wanting to be free?? Bryce literally didn't inform Lehabah that she was free as if that's something you WAIT to tell someone. And Lehabah doesn't ever get to BE free. The constant way the humans in the revolt is vilified is actually really crazy. The fact that (1) none of Bryce's friends is human is crazy, and (2) the only humans are still vilified unless they're completely nonexistent in the story. Where are the human characters??? Isn't it supposed to be a mixed back society, yet all we see are Fae, all who are important?? Angel and Fae. How are they fighting a rebellion and there's no HUMANS on their team. *screams*
Only a privileged person would so blindly write something so fucking sympathetic toward the oppressive party at hand. I should make a post about this because there's actually a lot to unpack. And this theme is sooo consistent through all her works-- the whole "all-lives-matter" even when the blood is so clearly heavy-handed on one side.
