Sound Of Your Heart

i. crashing down
Kate sat in her office and sighed for what felt like the millionth time, shifting the phone before she spoke again, "You're not understanding me. I'm looking to speak to Dr. Vivienne Huang. Can you do that for me?" The voice on the other end repeated their previous answer, "Ma'am like I have told you numerous times: we don't have anybody here by that name." She could tell by the woman's voice she was beginning to get frustrated; so was she. "Alright, have a good day." Kate harshly hung up the phone without waiting for a response. As she stared at the receiver on her desk she almost wanted to pick it up and throw it.
Laswell couldn't understand how in just a month the girl had managed to disappear once again. She liked Vivienne, she really did. With her skills and expertise she was the perfect candidate. In her early days she even considered putting her on the task force before she went dark the first time. One thing Kate knew was how highly sought after Huang was; there was no way she wasn't involved in something somewhere. And she would find out what that was even if it meant risking being caught.
When she saw the familiar bleached buzzcut out the window she immediately plastered on the best fake smile she could before stepping out of her office. "Danny!" Kate called out, causing him to turn around and adjust the files he was holding. "Kate." He begrudgingly acknowledged her. They had worked together long enough for him to know whatever she wanted wasn't good. "Come step in my office for a quick chat." She said. "Kate, I am working on the worst time crunch in history right now. I don't have time to chase loose ends with you." Miller explained, shifting the stack of files he was carrying once again. "Not even enough time to help an old friend?" She asked, crossing her arms. "You get five minutes before I leave." He responded, not waiting and walking into her office.
Once she closed the door and pulled the curtains down she turned around to face the Bajan man. "To make this quick since you're not the only one on a time crunch let's not play the whole 'I don't know' game." Laswell continued, "You and I both know that you know where Vivienne Huang is currently assigned." At the mention of her name Danny stood up and got ready to leave, but was stopped. "Kate you can't do this. Not to her, not again." Came his rebuttal. "Don't you think I know that? I wouldn't be asking you if it wasn't important; there is a lot at stake here." She responded. "So what? You're going to pluck her out of wherever she is now and make her work for you again? That's a little excessive even for you." Danny stated.
Kate rubbed at her temple, already feeling the oncoming headache forming, "For once in your life can you just see the bigger picture Daniel? This is the last time and then Huang can go back to whatever she's doing for all I care." Reluctantly he gave in, knowing that Laswell was not going to let this go. "She works for the International Bioterrorism Defense Unit; the IBDU. Currently residing in our neighbor Canada's backyard. Funny thing is I can just tell you can been driving yourself crazy with this whole situation trying to find her." His last sentence was heavily laced with attitude. "I need the specifics." Laswell requested. "Reports to a covert base located in the Boreal forest in the province of Quebec. You my friend are most likely not getting into that base, however I just so happen to know the bar she's going to be at tomorrow night." He responded. "Thank you. Really, thank you Danny." She stated.
The man was ready to leave and almost out the door when he turned around to look at her for a final time. "Do yourself a favor Kate and don't let this end the same way it did last time. If not for yourself then for Huang. Lord knows you owe it to her." Then he left, leaving the woman alone with her thoughts.

"Do you want to try repeating that and maybe make a little more sense when you do so?" Ghost questioned from his spot against the wall. He wasn't the only one; the others in the room shared his sentiment on the matter. "Mirage's assistance would be paramount to our mission. My feelings haven't changed. If anything they're stronger now that we know she works for the IBDU." Kate explained. "And how can we be so sure that they are going to let us poach one of their own?" Soap asked. "What about the fact we have never interacted with the IBDU at all this entire time? Where have they been on all of this and why haven't they been helping?" Gaz's last question held more of an accusatory tone.
Price broke his silence and finally spoke up, "I agree with them Kate; there's too many unanswered questions and we don't have time to waste on the matter." One thing Danny had been right about was the fact that she was not going to let this lead go. No, she had done so much to ensure that this would work and she was not going to let her efforts be wasted. "Mirage is an old colleague who previously worked for United States Special Forces. If all goes well she can serve as a bridge for us to the IBDU and we can gain access to their information on the situation." Laswell reasoned.
"You better hope you're right about this or else we are going to need to make up for a load of lost time." Price stated. "I hope so too John. Now let's make sure we are all on the same page for how this is going to go." Kate then explained the intel she obtained and went over the order of operations for making contact with Mirage. Simon could sense there was more to this whole thing than just convenience and he was hoping the others did too.

Like any other Friday in order to not lose their minds over being stuck in the middle of nowhere Apollo along with the Domino squad had went out for drinks. It was almost a miracle when they had stumbled upon a bar where the odd group could somewhat fit in. The establishment was a popular biker joint so there wasn't really any sight that would surprise the patrons.
However, for newcomers who weren't familiar with its environment it was quite the scene to step into. "Looks like you'll fit right in Ghost." Soap laughed as they approached the building. From outside they noticed the fact that there was a decent amount of people who wore masks. "Knock it off Johnny. Let's make this quick." Price ordered. "Does anyone need to see the picture again before we go inside?" Laswell asked. To which they all declined. "Alright, Let's do this." She said.
Vivienne sat on the barstool along with some of her friends from the two squads in the surrounding seats. Clutching at the red fabric of the dress she borrowed from her one of her roommates Annika, attempting to adjust it. She usually never dressed up all that much when they went out, but today they had actually been celebrating. Though to her it didn't feel like they should have been. Two casualties; in the grand scheme of things it was a small price to pay for success, but to her it had been a nightmare.
Although she wasn't close to the girl she still felt for her family whom did not have a body to bury nor would they ever get closure on the truth of what really happened to their daughter. It could have been her in that bunker; stuck at level zero to rot until the IBDU deemed it safe to retrieve both the bodies and the research stored down there. It should have been her. She thought. Moreau had managed to sneak her dog tags into Huang's pocket before she forcibly separated them. When Vivienne had discovered it before she disposed of her suit she could feel the shame flooding through her veins. That was when she finally realized what her last words meant.
"I'm not seeing her anywhere." Came the voice of Gaz in their earpieces. "Keep looking." Price responded. "Ah dinnae ken what someone of her caliber is doing here." Soap said from his spot next to Ghost, causing the man to look over at him. "Don't you think Laswell was holding something back earlier?" Ghost finally voiced his concern. "Whatever it was I don't think she would jeopardize the mission." Johnny responded, trying to calm his friend's concern. "Well do you see anything?" He asked the scotsman. "Seeing some dog tags by the bar, but they aren't your typical military folk by the looks of it." Soap replied, keeping his voice low.
Directing his attention to the bar he noticed a group; some with dyed hair, a few masked people among them, and one guy even had an eye patch on his right eye with what appeared to be a deep scar peaking out of the side. "You thinking PMCs maybe?" Ghost inquired. "Maybe, or they could be IBDU." Soap answered. The pair continued to observe the group, hoping that a certain someone would make an appearance.
"I see you eyeing mr. tall, dark, and gloomy over there." Vivienne's roommate Leila spoke up from next to her, twirling the straw in her drink. "You should go for it." She continued, "He's not a regular so you'll never have to see him again. Plus his friend is quite attractive." Vivienne could tell where this was going when she saw the grin on the Oliveira woman's face. "I'm good." She replied, taking another sip of her mojito. "There's nothing wrong with having a mask kink Huang. I'm sure he's handsome under there I can just feel it." Leila kept her voice low. "I do not." Vivienne said incredulously, starting to feel her face get hot at her friend's implication. "Sure you don't. And I'm the queen." By Leila's words she could tell that the woman was already drunk; she wished that she were too. "I'll humor you." The blonde said, standing up from her seat, "JJ, watch me and Leila's drinks." The man responded with a thumbs up as they walked off. Come On Eileen started to blare through the speakers; there was no doubt in her mind one of the Americans in Domino squad requested it.
"This blows." Soap said, gaining his teammate's attention. "Hm?" Ghost acknowledged him. "Two lassies approachin us." He pointed out. Ghost noticed the blonde and brunette pair getting closer to them. "We'll let them down." He stated. "I saw blondie eyeing you earlier. I won't tell if you don't." Soap told him quietly as the pair finally arrived in front of them. Simon couldn't lie to himself and say the woman in front of him was not attractive. With her long ash blonde hair, the red ink he saw peaking out from under the strap of her dress, and her smile; that smile killed him.
Before Vivienne could get the chance to speak Leila beat her to it, "How about a dance boys?" She could see how the man was looking at Leila then to his masked friend like he was asking for some sort of approval. "Fine, you can do it." She recognized the presence of a thick Manchester accent in his words. "Told you I was right." She whispered to Leila before the pair walked off. Now that it was just her and the stranger she acknowledged him, "I only came over here to humor her. She can be quite persuasive." "I can see that." He responded. The man's demeanor appeared standoffish to her. "I'll leave you to it." She said then walked off. His eyes followed her figure all the way back to the spot she was sitting at on the other side of the bar where her noticed what looked like to be more potential military people.
"Back so soon?" He joked when he noticed Soap approaching him, looking like someone just kicked his puppy. "Price caught me." Mactavish revealed, causing him to smile under his mask. "Are we even sure this Mirage chick turned up tonight?" Soap asked into his earpiece. "My intel is from a trusted source; she has to be here." Kate responded.
"Bloom seems to be having fun." JJ said from next her, referring to Leila as her call sign. "That makes one of us." Vivienne replied, taking a sip of her drink. "You're not having fun?" He asked with a look of concern. "How the hell am I supposed to have fun when we just lost two squad mates?" She tried not to raise her voice. "They wouldn't want you beating yourself up over something we couldn't control; something we didn't even predict would happen. We had no idea that MIMIC would risk their own that night if it meant getting us. It was a high stakes operation both Moreau and Doyle knew that." JJ continued, "Do you think I don't beat myself up every night  I step into my room to just look at his empty bed?" The topic of their conversation was a contrast to the Lively atmosphere.
"Moreau gave me her dog tags." Vivienne finally said it out loud. "She told me that she wanted me to have it. At the time all I could ask her was 'have what?' when Annika pulled me away." Huang revealed with a wry laugh. "Don't you even think about going there right now M. Come on get up we're dancing." JJ had grown tired of watching the woman beat herself up over the situation. "I don't feel like dancing Jones." She responded. "You wound me Huang." He joked, clutching his chest for dramatic affect.
She thought that she had gotten away with her brooding when the Jones man started to sing lowly at first,"Ah, come on, Vivienne. Please." As the beat reverberated through the bar, gaining the attention of their friends who slowly started to join in much to her dismay as they got louder.
"Come on, Eileen, ta-loo-rye-aye. Come on, Eileen, ta-loo-rye-aye." They heard a group sing. "Get a better view of that group singing, maybe she's somewhere in there." Kate ordered. "Now I must say more than ever things round here have changed." They were practically chanting at this point as Ghost and Soap got closer.
"Toora, loora, toora, loo-rye-aye." Vivienne found the situation quite amusing as she stared at her friend's outstretched hand. When she finally took it they cheered as he stole her away to dance her hair swaying as the pair moved around the hardwood floor. "Now are you having fun?" JJ asked while they were in close proximity. "Fine, maybe a little." She answered. "Works for me." He smiled. "Don't get ahead of yourself Sinner." She replied, using his call sign. "Wouldn't dream of it M." He laughed.
"Isn't that the lass who wanted to dance with you?" Soap questioned. When Ghost took a closer look he realized something, reaching up to touch his earpiece he spoke, "Blonde in the red dress, dancing in the center. We didn't notice her because she looks different from the fucking picture." He observed the way they moved around as the group who was singing before cheered. She had been hiding in plain sight the entire night.
"Price it's your turn. The rest of you I want you outside." Kate stated as she took her spot near the door. While the others walked out John waited till her noticed the girl had separated from her group after dancing to approach her. Taking notice of the stranger who was most definitely looking at her Vivienne questioned him, "Do I know you?" "You will, Captain John Price." He introduced himself before continuing, "You see my friend by the door wants to talk to you. She says you'll want to hear what she has to say."
When she noticed the figure by the door her blood ran cold and she looked over to her friends who were so close yet so far. What was she even supposed to do? Could she even run? It was safe to assume that if he was with Laswell there were more of them somewhere. So much for her new life and covert job where nobody actually knew her. She almost thought at first she was going to be arrested on the spot, however the words of the man who identified himself as John Price seemed to hint otherwise. "Let me just text my friend so she knows I will be stepping out." She finally spoke as she looked down at her phone. 'sos being kidnapped by a cia bitch and some british dude keep it on the dl and do the paperwork on my desk for me pretty please. also text this number and tell him i said he owes me major' Vivienne attached the man's contact information and pressed send then flashed a smile at Price.
As she got closer to what felt like impending doom she looked over at her friends one last time, hoping one of them would notice, but of course they didn't. "Long time no see Mirage." Kate stated as she led them out the door and Vivienne was greeted by the pair she saw earlier along with another man whom she hadn't noticed. God how could she have been so stupid to believe that it had been over. When she got no response Laswell spoke again, "We're going to take a little trip and have a chat. Is that good with you?" Vivienne knew she wasn't really asking. "Will I be compensated?" The woman the rest of them knew as Mirage questioned. "Greatly." Kate responded, gesturing her towards the vehicle. Huang was ready to get in the back when she was stopped, "I want you passenger side up front." Laswell told her. This was going to be a long trip; if she was lucky she could manage to get a hold of her operations leader and get the fuck out of there.
Tumblr media
When the JJ noticed her absence as they got ready to leave he tapped Annika's shoulder, "Where's Mirage?" "Hookup, guy was a real sweet talker." The woman lied on the spot. Overhearing her statement Leila inserted herself into the conversation, "Was it that dude with the skull mask? I knew he was into her." "Yeah." She responded to her roommate, taking out her phone as they exited the bar. ' just so you know i told jj and leila you went to go hookup with someone and leila mentioned some skull mask dude so i went along with it'. Annika sent the text to inform Vivienne while she wondered what exactly the girl had gotten herself into.

based on events of mwiii
introduction: VIVIENNE HUANG had been on Kate's radar for quite some time now. She was merely one of the cards that Laswell liked to keep up her sleeve. When Makarov escaped from prison she believed that it was finally time to use the leverage she had over the Huang woman. To bring her back into the fold; the same fold she desperately tried to escape from.
SOMETHING about Vivienne was that her days of following orders were long gone along with her; she had disappeared. With new information the task force sets out to hunt down a lead on the one they call Mirage. Kate would make her listen even if it meant risking everything.
SHE had always been running away her entire life. Whether it be from her family, her time in special forces, and her current predicament with the IBDU. It was almost perfect the way Kate Laswell came back into her life to fuck it all up once again. After all Kate wasn't the only one holding onto an ace.
HOWEVER with rising tensions among those involved in her current arrangement she must decide; will she continue running or will she finally pay the price and atone for her sins.
VIVIENNE 'MIRAGE' HUANG

Runaway
Batfam x batsis!reader
summary: at the gala regular shenanigans with friends ensue and after bruce confronts the reader about their antics threatening to take away the mantle of batgirl
part 1 2 3 4
The manor was quiet when you woke up, Cass was also gone from the spot next to you. Retreating to your bedroom you checked your phone to see what you had missed; a few good morning texts and just a random conversation they were having in the group chat. Technically you didn’t have to do anything today until four when you had to start getting ready for the gala, going back to sleep was the best choice.
When you woke up again you decided to get ready; the black dress you were going to wear already on display, hanging on your closet door. You took your time getting ready since there was no rush and it would benefit you to be meticulous with your appearance for this event; after all it would reflect on your family. Speaking of family things looked quite tense in the moment; the group chat was dry, you couldn’t hear any noise in the manor which was uncommon since someone was almost always screaming, peeking out the window you noticed Cass’ car was gone, and most importantly you felt like you were on eggshells since Bruce would be speaking to you after the gala.
Later the ride to said event was quiet; you and Dick just sat in his car neither of you uttering a single word. This would be your first time seeing Bruce and the nerves were practically eating away at your soul like it was the last meal. Finally when you arrived your brother spoke, “Loosen up we’re about to go through the paparazzi.” As if that would do anything to help, but you knew if there was a slight insight that something was off in your expression they would have a field day. Like many times before you stepped out of the vehicle with a fake smile plastered across your face, following behind the other members of the family who had arrived. You deliberately chose to stand by Cassandra for pictures also she happened to be further away from Bruce so it was a win win situation.
It was a long line of people approaching you, pretending to be interested in your life and well-being. By the time the whole ordeal was done a bad idea had blossomed into your head to help ease the nerves and boredom. One hit wouldn’t hurt plus what’s the point of sitting through a gala if your not on something. You retreated to the safety of one of the bathrooms at the furthest end of the hall, knowing that most people didn’t bother walking this far and even if there was a line at the other ones they would still wait. Your phone buzzed and when you opened it you realized that Marie, Kim, and Jake were here. “meet in the girls bathroom at the far end.” You texted. “Should I even be in here?” Came the voice of Jake a few minutes later. “Hurry up and go in before someone notices.” Kim scolded him. “Love open up.” Marie said knocking on the stall door. The four of you crowded into the medium sized stall, thankful that there was no crack at the bottom of the door.
The thing is being with friends causing you to lose track of many things like time, the sounds of your phone, how many hits you each took, or how much you all drank out of Jakes alcohol stash. You stood in front of Marie as she had her arms around you, engulfing you in the smell of her floral perfume as you looked at Kim. She was currently arguing on how even though these events suck you all still had to be careful. Kimberly James always came prepared because she had perfume on hand and had a bottle of water. “We should have just skipped and hung out somewhere.” You said. “Y/n, your family would have your head if you didn’t show up.” Marie reminded. “Oh shit don’t you still have to talk to your dad after this?” Jake asked. You went to take another hit when Marie stopped you. “No more let’s just spray the perfume and walk back. We can just sit at a table.” She said. You obliged to your friends request and once everyone was presentable the group left, snagging a table in the corner.
As time went on eventually the night was coming to an end; even snotty business men couldn’t brag about how rich they were forever. You all conversed but also watched how the size of the crowd slowly shrunk. “Eunwoo asked if we wanted to go on his parents yacht tomorrow since it’s a sunday.” Jake mentioned. Everyone agreed that it was a sound plan and they would be down to go. “Are you sure Y/n, isn’t your dad super mad?” Kim questioned you. “Since when has that stopped me. He probably won’t even be around to say no.” You responded. “She could take a weekend vacation to Italy and that man still wouldn’t notice.” Jake said, causing you to laugh. Finally it was time for you to leave and say your goodbyes. You knew not to hug Jake so you guys just did your handshake; people gossip it’s an activity of most Gothamites. Kim and you shared a quick hug, “Make sure to update us.” She said. Then it came to Marie and when you guys hugged she patted your back, “Please don’t say anything stupid when he talks to you. I know your upset but don’t worsen whatever punishment he may dish out.” She whispered. You thanked her in return. “Stay safe out there pookie.” Kim said as you walked away.
It was stupid to think you could embrace the comfort of your room when you arrived back at the manor. “My office, now.” Bruce said with an even tone. You followed behind him, heels clicking on the floor. He took a seat in his big chair and you stood in front of him. The silence wrapped it’s hand around your throat, causing every breath you took to feel strained. “Are you gonna tell me why you were smoking on school property?” All the air rushed to your lungs and you almost felt dizzy. “I have no excuse and I’m sorry.” Came your response, remembering Marie’s words from earlier. “Not only have you embarrassed yourself you made this family and me look bad Y/n.” He stated. You didn’t know why but the way he worded it pissed you off. “This family?” You scoffed out then continued, “What about our family or what’s even left of it?” Bruce took a sip of a drink he poured himself, “You are apart of this family and I don’t know what you’re trying to get at here Y/n but get your act together.”
You should have left it at that you know you should have. “I fight the most dangerous criminals in Gotham day and night but you draw the line at me getting caught smoking. You guys are acting like I committed some heinous crime when I did something that I’m sure other people in our family have done.” Bruce was visibly showing that he was upset now, “That doesn’t matter you’re supposed to be setting an example as an eighteen year old I shouldn’t be hearing about stuff like this.” You wanted to crawl out of your skin and go anywhere but here. “You only care because I got caught not that I’m smoking weed in general because you’re absent but you aren’t that absent to the point where you can’t smell it on me. You just choose not to say anything and only care when it’s convenient for you or I’m putting your so called reputation in jeopardy.” You grit out. He slammed his hands on the desk, “Gotham doesn’t need a hero who acts irrationally and irresponsibly.” That one stung and you couldn’t bite your tongue any longer, “Well news flash that’s majority of all vigilantes and the Justice League.” “Keep this up and I’ll have Stephanie be Batgirl again.” He taunted. Oh but he had to have known that was a sour spot he knew how much you loved being Batgirl and included in the family’s night job. “And there won’t be a new mantle for you to pick up if I do so. Do you hear me?” He asked. You didn’t think you had paused for even a minute before he said it again, “Do you hear me?” “Yes, loud and clear Bruce.” You answered. “Go to bed it’s late.” He instructed you.
Being the petty person you were you slammed the door on the way out. “Shit!” You jumped when you were met with Dick, Tim, Damian, Jason, and even Cass eavesdropping outside the door. You didn’t even want to bother picking apart the emotions displayed on their features. So you just pushed past them, ignoring the multiple shouts of your name. When you got to your room you locked the door not bothering to move an inch from your bed after you got changed and multiple knocks sounded.
a/n not my best work although i do appreciate how many people have been interested so here we are i hope you enjoy and i will release the next chapter soon hopefully also i wanted to tag other people but for some reason it wouldn’t let me and i don’t know how to fix it

Champagne Problems
bruce wayne x fem!reader
summary: bruce wayne didn’t have the best track record when it came to love this time was no different
Billionaires did not take the train late at night, especially in Gotham of all cities. The car he was sitting in filled with people finally leaving their day jobs or on the way to a night one; all of them too out of it to notice the elite member of society among them. Sure once he was off and wormed his way through the swarms of people in the station maybe a few of them noticed, but nobody dared to say anything. Bruce looked forward to arriving home and seeing what everyone was getting up to, needing the distraction. He still didn’t know how he was going to explain to Alfred why he never called to be picked up. So he decided to keep it vague and just send a text letting the older man know he was on his way home.
Yes, you were very well aware of Bruce Wayne’s status and the rumors surrounding him. Just because you lived in Metropolis didn’t mean you lived under a rock. Maybe it was the fancy over the top dates, the way he always knew what to say in any situation, or the fact that his family was so welcoming. Everything was just so overwhelming and felt like it was all happening way too fast. Before you knew it on Fridays was family dinner; ‘family’ as in you being apart of it. There was the unspoken question ‘would you be here to stay?’ that lingered in the atmosphere. Jason and Dick would always try to be discreet and fail by asking different variations of the question where you saw yourself in a few years, Damian asked what your intentions with his father were and even a few times when you were out with him and your co-worker’s son blatantly would ask if you would be marrying Bruce, and the times Bruce tried to get Alfred to drive you places for errands which you politely declined each time. They were all very kind people but you didn’t need a personal driver for everyday errands and you weren’t stupid enough to tell the son of the man you were dating if you would end up marrying his father just yet.
“Are you sure that you don’t mind?” You questioned the man next to you once again, gathering your things. “Y/n, it’s fine go enjoy your date.” Clark said with a smile. “I would prefer to stay here. I don’t really enjoy over the top things.” You explained, picking up your purse. “It’s a pretty nice place I looked it up who knows something unexpected may happen.” He stated, grabbing the papers on your desk. “Why are you speaking like you know something I don’t?” You asked. “Hey I’m just saying.” He continued, “Now go you don’t wanna be late.” You laughed at his antics, “Okay Kent I’m leaving. Text me if you need any help.” Then you walked towards the elevator and pressed the button for the ground level. “Yeah, she’s leaving now.” Clark said into his phone as the elevator doors closed.
Looking back at you was a foreign person for a second you thought that the mirror was playing tricks on you. In your childhood and teenage years even today you would never be able to afford the luxury of randomly buying a dress over one grand or wearing fancy jewelry. You still had the first pair of diamond earrings your grandma gave you when you were fourteen. It still amazed you that in the eleven months of dating Bruce not once have the two of you been in the tabloids. No doubt that he had something to do with it though since you had mentioned how you never really liked too much attention, preferring to write articles rather than being the topic of them.
Bruce knew that you hated fancy dinners and preferred something casual but was it wrong to spoil his girlfriend every once in awhile, especially on a night like this one. He gave himself a once-over in the mirror, making sure his suit was crisp and his hair was well kept before leaving in the car with Alfred. During the two hour ride the weight of his mother’s ring in his pocket was heavy. There wasn’t a doubt in his mind that he wanted to spend his life with you, despite not being together for a long time. He would imagine sitting you down and explaining his secret identity to you and depending on your reaction maybe even begging you to stay because while he was Batman he would promise that no matter what you would always come first. Even though it was quite dangerous he kept a picture of you in both his wallet and in the batmobile on a keychain. Bruce liked to be reminded of you whenever whether it be while he was working at Wayne Enterprises or when he was out on patrol during the night.
Immediately your boyfriend greeted you with a kiss on you were in the backseat with him. You and Alfred said your hellos and you asked how the older man had been. He would crack a joke or two something along the lines of, “You know, Master Bruce has been real unbearable without you around. It’s almost like he’s back in highschool.” To which you would laugh and poke fun at the man seated next to you. While you had a great amount of love for Bruce this would also add to the brewing anxieties of the night that you did your best to hide. It didn’t seem that he caught on though because the smile that you adored so much was still displayed on his features. You leaned in and whispered to him, “You need to start smiling more it’s cute.” “I have been since you came around.” He responded back, matching your quiet tone.
You didn’t favor the idea of going out on an expensive date, however, you had to admit Bruce outdid himself with this one. It was candlelit but the dining room still had dim lights around, gorgeous pieces of artwork adorned the walls, multiple doors were open that led out to balconies like the one next to your table so you could view the fading colors of the sky, and there was even live music a few couples some old and some young were already up and dancing with one another in a different area. The dinner part of it went smoothly; the food was like nothing you ever had before, conversation always came easy between the both of you so no problem there, and the orchestra even played a version of a song you enjoyed at some point; that’s when Bruce led you to dance as ‘Enchanted’ had started. No matter what form the song was in you could recognize the instrumental in a heartbeat.
“I don’t suppose they usually play Taylor Swift songs.” You said as your hands rested on his shoulders. By now a piano had slowly joined in on the melody. “Maybe I pulled a few strings.” He joked. “That was cheesy but I’ll forgive you because this is amazing.” You responded. All the anxiety you had previously had washed away throughout the night. You were wrapped up in the moment when he spoke, “Y/n.” You made a sound of acknowledgment. “These past eleven months have been amazing with you and watching how you interact with my family I have realized something.” He stated. “What?” You asked him still very much caught up in the moment. “I don’t wanna sit here and not be honest. I am very well am aware that I have a reputation but that’s not me or what I want. What I want more than anything is to be with you.” His words slowly bought you back to your senses and what was happening sunk in. He continued, “I can’t speak for you but I know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want go to get ice cream on 47th street, keep sitting on the hill at the park on Saturdays to watch the stars, go to your painting classes with you, and I want to wake up next to your everyday.” The brutal reality of his confession to you had hit the nail on the coffin, causing you to drop his hand and stop dancing. Your eyes darted around the balcony briefly before you spoke, “Bruce, I love you and you know that but-” He cut you off, “Please let me just.” He was reaching into his suit pocket now. You stopped him before he could. “That is a permanent commitment and while you are the most amazing thing that has happened to me and I love you I am not ready for that.”
It seemed he was really stunned by your words and got way too into his thoughts so you had to stop him. “I’m not saying it will never happen my love but give it time. It’s not like I’m going anywhere.” You said as you hugged him. “I have work in the morning and can tell you need some time to think. Also I refuse to let you pay for my meal after that I think it’s only fair.” He didn’t say anything back. “Look at me Bruce, I share your sentiment I do. We have so much time to figure this all out so let’s do it together, okay?” You said. He finally spoke, “Okay.” You shared a kiss and went to pay your half of the bill, cursing the fact that it was $180 but still swiping your card. Before you left you looked back and saw him crestfallen and not moving on the balcony. Against your better nature you didn’t move to comfort him though. Already you had said your piece and needed him to understand that.
It seemed that your luck had not lasted though because you woke up to a multitude of notifications on your phone; people requesting to follow your socials, family and friends demanding an explanation, your mother out of everyone seemed livid and insisted you call her, and a message from Clark apologizing with a link to something. When you opened the link the title taunted you. ‘Bullet Dodged: Gold Digger Declined Bruce Wayne’s Proposal?’ You scoffed at the idea and checked your notifications but noticed there were none from him or his family. Nobody even checked in which you hated to admit hurt. The comments were mainly slandering you, your job, looks, or background. Somehow these people wrote a mini biography on you. The only rational thing was to temporarily deactivate your social media first. Some of the comments on the article claimed Bruce deserved it for his ‘playboy persona’, but the man you knew was not like that. ‘She’s actually really pretty and would’ve been a lovely bride if she wasn’t as fucking stupid to not accept his proposal. I mean people there say he poured his heart out to her. Yikes.’ That comment stuck out in particular with over 678k likes.
You called up your Co-worker who immediately answered, “Y/n we are doing everything to get it taken down.” He informed you. “To hell with it, They want me to be the bad guy but leave out the part where I said that we have time to figure it out and should hold off for a bit.” You continued, “I hate to do this because it’s my job but I’m calling in sick today and I need you to email me copies of the joint article we have been working on. It’s not on my personal laptop here.” Clark obliged to your request and once again apologized. Once you were off the phone you did something you don’t usually do, going into the depths of your cabinet and grabbing a bottle of champagne. Day drinking was never your thing unless you were out the some friends but today you made an exception. All you could think of was the fact of how fucked the whole situation was as you drank straight from the bottle.

Get up
jungkook x fem!reader
summary: after not being able to be with eachother and being unsure if you matter to jungkook you try and see what’s happening
Being in love with an idol was difficult especially since he was from one of the biggest boy groups; what made it even more painful is that you too were an idol. It started sweet like any romance does; shy glances when you both thought the other wasn’t looking, faces being warm from getting flustered, finding out the smallest details about that person, enjoying eachothers presence even in moments of silence, little gestures like getting them food or drinks.
It was Namjoon actually who told him to just go for it; although Jungkook didn’t know why he listened. Sure, it felt like he was back in school having a crush on you and Jungkook was over the moon after finding out you felt the same way from a mutual friend. However, He knew from the beginning that he couldn’t love you in the way you wanted him to. Over the years time and time again fans have proved that going public with your partner would not end well. The chokehold that these people who adored them had on the social and dating life of idols was harsh.
Of course the first time you met he intimidated you. While he was a nice guy and quite attractive he was also extremely famous. Your group was a year old under Hybe and was popular but you could never top that level of fame. They had been around since and when he debuted you were still in middle school unaware of your future career path. After you got to know him though and became good friends you realized that these feelings were no longer just platonic; you had fallen for him. Now this was something that you were going to take to your grave originally, but ended up telling a friend. You had your suspicions that this friend could have said something but never confronted them because it led to something lovely.
He didn’t know why he did this to you. Deep down Jungkook knew that it wouldn’t work out; that he couldn’t do it. Call it being selfish for wanting something good. When the honeymoon phase wore off it was only then that he realized how much this would hurt you and that was the last thing he wanted to do. Jungkook was still able to act normal and enjoy the time left with you, but he didn’t know how long he could keep it up. Almost as if the weight of these thoughts was causing his heart to be constricted painfully in his chest.
When Jungkook ran into you alone in the hall he had a habit of giving your arm a comforting squeeze letting you know that he was always here. Also it wasn’t like he could do anything else; you never knew who was lurking around. In your eyes the day was like no other however that was disproven when instead of stopping he actually sped up as if he couldn’t bear being in the vicinity of you. At this point in time you were well aware of how distant he was becoming with you but also he was becoming more and more busy. Except, this wasn’t something you could chalk off as work related or wanting personal time because deep down you could see it too; this wasn’t going to end well.
“Can you meet me back in 5 at my studio?” He read the text in his head, debating his response then another message came in. “It’s urgent.” If you asked him in the future why he made the decision that he did Jungkook wouldn’t be able to explain it. He had left you on read at first, but then turned his read receipts off and put his phone on do not disturb. “It was better off this way.” He thought. The read time was mocking you the longer you looked at it. Instead of bothering to text him again you blocked him; that was one way to end things.
He always claimed that you were so important but when it came down to reality you knew he couldn’t face his fears. In a way you were glad that this didn’t end in a Dispatch article. You weren’t bitter about the whole thing in all honesty it was just sad. Whenever you saw eachother the stares still lingered except they were no longer full with longing, atleast on your end. You would no longer fight the shadow of being the romantic interest in Jeon Jungkook’s world.

Cool With You
spencer reid x fem!reader
summary: you are hardcore crushing on your coworker not knowing he feels the same and everyone else sees it but you two
tw: usual criminal minds stuff, violence, choking, near death experiences
You were waiting to get coffee; the kitchenette was quite crowded since everyone needed it. Your attention was on him though as he added two packs of sugar to his coffee. Then you saw something out of the ordinary he was making another cup of coffee, adding a generous amount of creamer to it. He was walking your way you hoped your staring went unnoticed. “Coffee the way you like it; enough creamer until the drink turns almost white.” Spencer said with a smile, handing it to you. Upon taking a sip you realized it tastes similar to when you would make it. You thanked him, hoping that drinking the coffee would hide the blush growing on your face. The team watched on as the two of you avoided eye contact.
It seemed the only people oblivious to your secret crushes were you two. For a team of profilers they put it together quite fast; the lingering stares when the other wasn’t looking, small gestures, things you both remembered about eachother that even the team didn’t, and of course the most obvious sign was the way you both clammed up when somebody asked you about one another. But of course it was chalked down to, “We are just really good friends.” Neither of you wanted to admit it for some reason and it was painful to watch, even for Hotch. When Spencer came over to play with Jack the ever so observant kid could see it too. “You like Y/n.” Jack said, putting a puzzle piece down. This caught Spencer off guard. He quickly replied, “I do not she is my colleague and good friend; I respect her.” Though he did stumble over a few words, causing Hotch to laugh from the kitchen; Spencer wanted to crawl in a hole. “How’s the puzzle going?” Hotch asked, coming out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee for himself and water for Spencer. “Daddy, Uncle Reid has a crush on Y/n!” The energetic child stated. Aaron even cracked a smile at this, “Oh really?” He said. “Hotch I don’t.” Spencer responded. “I don’t know. What do you think buddy?” He picked up his son and asked. “You do too!” Jack stuck his tongue out and laughed. Hotch wondered how you both were so unaware.
“Watch your step.” Reid warned, guiding you up the hill. “Thanks Spence.” You said. The current case at hand was catching a serial killer and the team had him cornered. Problem being was that his cabin is at the top of a steep hill; no vehicles could get up or down and the path was hard to walk. When the team finally had arrived they quickly busted down the front and back doors. You and JJ took the basement, “Clear and we found the victim, she’s alive.” JJ informed the team. You left her with the young girl and walked up the steps catching the guy making a break for the back door. “I got eyes on Carter he is making a run for it, pursing him now.” You said, sprinting after him. “Alex Carter, FBI; You’re under arrest for the murders of Lauren Palmer, Emilia Cruz, Morgan Lee, and the kidnapping of Brianna King. You have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.” You had him that’s the thing the dude was handcuffed now. “We just found three unidentified bodies in the attic.” Morgan said into the comms. “Three?” You repeated back. “Yeah, Hotch and Reid are coming out to you now.” He responded.
That’s when the unsub started to struggle. He began moving erratically, irritating you. “We can add refusal to cooperate to the list of you keep struggling.” You stated. He just looked at you with this sick and unsettling expression, suddenly you could hear the sound of handcuffs breaking. Then he pushed back against your body and kicked you in the shin, causing you to lose your hold on his arms. Immediately Carter was on top of you, squeezing his hands on your neck. All that could come out strangled gasps for air. “Step away from the agent, Carter.” Hotch said when him and Reid arrived. Spencer just watched in horror as you struggled to breathe and tears streamed down your face. “Think about your sister Alex, would she have wanted this?” Hotch asked, trying and hoping to find some reason. It didn’t seem to get through and a shot rang out in the air, alerting the remaining team members in the cabin. Reid immediately rushed to you, pulling you out from under the unsubs slack body. His gun was long forgotten. Hotch was thankful it was only a shot in the arm that shocked the guy who realized what had happened. Once again he was handcuffed this time by Hotch who said, “No funny business; you’re also under arrest assault on a federal agent.”
Spencer stuck with you from helping your trembling figure down the hill to sitting with you in the back of the ambulance ride. Even in the emergency room he refused to leave your side. “Spence I’m fine.” You told him for the billionth time while grabbing your stuff and exiting with him following behind you. The team immediately greeting you in the waiting room voicing their concerns and asking how you were doing. “They said the bruising should fade in a few weeks.” You informed them. Hotch inquired since it was protocol after all that you take time off but it was declined. “Aaron if I get put on paperwork I’ll lose it, please.” His mouth formed into a straight line before he answered, “Alright then, take it easy.”
It a few weeks later during one of your movie nights with Reid that he couldn’t take it anymore. “How are you doing?” He asked with a genuine look on his face as the random horror movie you selected played. “I’m good, why?” You responded. “Y/n, I know all your tells.” He stated. “What?” You just stared at him. “Playing with the left front strand of your hair when you are in thought, you bite your lip when you’re upset or annoyed, and when lying you twist the bracelet on your wrist atleast two times as if it irritates you like you’re doing right now.” Spencer said, causing you to stop yourself mid second turn. He continued, “I’m a profiler but first I’m your friend. Did you not think I wouldn’t notice somethings wrong?” At the word friend it felt like your heart was being squeezed and you had to stop yourself from biting your lip. He really was right about your tells and you didn’t know why but this upset you. “And you’re upset now that I said something.” Reid stated the obvious. “I’m not.” You responded. “Then why are you getting defensive?” He questioned, causing you to sigh in defeat. “I think I’m going to head home now.” You said. Spencer looked at your figure sadly as you grabbed your stuff.
He was tired of dancing around his feelings; you not being aware of the fact that other people care and just continuously putting yourself in dangerous positions. He desperately wanted you to know that you didn’t need to do those things. “I don’t want to watch you just walk away.” He said in this small voice, causing you to pause. Spencer took this as an invitation to continue, “There are so many people who care about you and just want to be here for you, I care. I can’t let you leave and ice me out because your too stubborn to let someone in.” You started moving again to leave and this time he stopped you. “I want to be the person you lean on when you’re in pain, help your realize that you don’t need to go through these things alone, or the fact you don’t need to prove yourself to the team or me.” Reid stated, looking you in the eye. “Y/n I think-”, He stopped himself then looked like he was in thought. “No I know that I am in love with you, Y/n L/n, and I have been since that day in Los Angeles.” Spencer spoke with clarity in his voice.

Runaway
Batfam x batsis!reader
info: growing up in the spotlight does some damage especially when you can’t catch a break, reader was adopted by bruce and this takes place in the last year of highschool
F/F/P = favorite food place
part: 1 2 3 4
Four girls walked together being escorted by a few staff members, flashing lights from students holding up their phones went off. The tallest one shielded the shorter girl’s face from the cameras until they arrived at the principals office. “Thank you Marie.” The girl smiled, “No problem. Is your dad coming or is he in some fancy conference?” She asked you, causing a laugh to escape from you. “He cant even make it to dinner I doubt he would make it to this.” You told her as the four of you sat in different chairs. “I wish my parents were chill my mom is going to kill me.” Camilla said, hugging her legs to her chest. “You’re so lucky that your dad never bothers you Y/N.” You forced a smile, “Yeah.”
Time seemed to move slow in the office. Nobody spoke to the girls, making them more nervous. The secretary that everybody knew was hooking up with their principal even though he was a married man would give them dirty looks every few minutes. Her name was Cheryl and she was one of the people who always managed to get your friend group in trouble, trying to get into the principal’s good graces. Eventually one by one each girl was called in until it was you. Your heart broke at the sight of Loralei coming out crying and her mom dropping a smile, immediately yelling at her in french. The secretary came out “Y/N Wayne.” She called your name with distaste. “L/N.” You said standing up and following her to the office.
The principal, Mr. Anderson, sat at his desk with a grim expression. “Take a seat Miss Wayne, you can leave Cheryl.” The old door creaked as it closed. “Miss Wayne-” “L/N.” You corrected him. “Miss L/N, are you aware of the trouble that you are in?” Then he continued, “Here at Gotham Academy we have a reputation to uphold. It seems you continuously try to tarnish that even though you come from a good background.” “Just because some rich dude adopts a kid does not mean they had a good background.” You said those last two words sarcastically. “Your father hasn’t answered any of our calls. Do you have a second contact that we can inform of the situation to come down here?” Mr. Anderson asked. You didn’t want to call the golden child but your first option was legally dead. “Dick Grayson, I’ll write down his number.” You tuned everything out when he called your brother.
Three knocks rang out before Mr. Anderson spoke, “Come in.” “I have Mr. Grayson here.” Cheryl informed him. You wanted to curl up in a ball and disappear. The uniform you had on felt suffocating. “Mr. Anderson, Hi.” Dick greeted, taking the seat next to you. He looked at you weirdly which you couldn’t understand why until you inhaled the scent on your clothes.“Thank you for being here on such short notice.” Mr. Anderson shuffled some papers in front of him. “Y/N was among a group of girls who were caught by a staff member skipping classes in the girls lockeroom.” “Don’t you guys usually give detention for these things?” Dick asked, hoping you weren’t participating in the activity that caused the smell. “Mr. Grayson this isn’t her first offense. That’s not all they were also smoking the female staff member who walked in caught your sister with this.” He took your cart out to show him. Dick sighed, “What’s the punishment?” “We can kick her out of the school and this will be on her permanent record. It would make it quite difficult for Y/N to attend another school up to these standards.” He paused for a second as an idea crossed his mind, “$200 for this incident to be erased and for her to keep attending. This deal will be void if she manages to break the rules again during the last three months of school.” Dick took the deal and grabbed your arm, dragging you out of your seat.
The ride home was quiet until he parked in the driveway. “How old are you now?” He asked sarcastically, resting his hands on the steering wheel. “18.” “You need to act your age I don’t know what’s going on but what you pulled today was stupid. What would have happened if he wasn’t greedy? You wouldn’t be able to get into any colleges with that on your record.” You stared out the window at the suddenly intimidating house, “I’m getting suspended from patrol aren’t I?” You knew it was pointless asking, once Bruce heard about what had happened today you would be lucky if you were only suspended for awhile. “Just go inside.” Dick said, not meeting your eyes. So you did what he told you. As soon as you were out the front door you saw him through the windshield looking upset then he pulled out the driveway, quickly speeding off.
The house seemed empty you just locked the door and went up to your room, finally checking your phone. There was an active facetime call in your friends group chat so you joined. They all greeted you then Loralei asked, “So what happened?” You took a seat at your desk before speaking, “That greedy bitch wanted a bribe and my brother had to pay him.” “So that’s why he said it was taken care of and wouldn’t be on our record they had you pay.” Camila stated, clearly disgusted. “Way to take one for the team.” Marie joked. “I don’t even want to be here right now. When Bruce finds out what happened I am screwed.” You were afraid of what could happen then again how does somebody go from being an unwanted 17 year old in an orphanage to some famous potential heir to a company. Suddenly the group chat with all your siblings started going crazy. Then a phone call from crowbar chomper came in. “Hold on my brother is calling me.” You accepted it, “Hello.” “My dear sister it seems that you have gotten into some trouble.” Jason said. The sound of wind could be heard in the background so you assumed he was on his motorcycle. “Yes it appears that way.” He laughed, “If you want to lay low for the weekend come to my apartment. I already spoke to Roy he’s cool with it.” The offer was tempting so you took it. “Sounds good, I’ll pack a bag.” “Roy will be there in ten minutes. We planned to kidnap you if you didn’t say yes.” Jason informed you, causing a smile to grace your face for the first time that day. “Love you too.” You said. “I’ll see you later Cliff jumper.” He said then hung up. The name came from the amount of times you have been thrown off of a cliff or just even high places in general. You finished packing your bag then grabbed your backup cart.
Time passed quickly and soon Roy called you. “I’m out front.” He said. “I’ll be down in a sec.” You hung up then left your room. However on the couch downstairs was Damian. “L/N, making your escape?” He words held distaste, which was new. You and him got along pretty well since he was only a year younger than you. “Yes and I would appreciate it if you don’t tell Bruce until he realizes it.” You explained, hoping he would agree. “Okay.” Damian looked like he wanted to say something but just went back to looking at his phone, probably texting Rachel. You quickly walked out the front door, jumping in Roy’s car. “Wanna stop and get food? We have to go grocery shopping tomorrow morning.” He told you. “Sure, can we get something from F/F/P?” You asked. “Sounds good.”
At the apartment you two sat on the stools in front of the counter, talking about the most random things. The topic of father figures came up. “Does it ever get easier?” You asked him. Roy took a sip of his drink then answered, “Sometimes, other times shit can happen. You can still fix things you know? You haven’t even spoken to Bruce yet.” “He is always in some fucking meeting even when I finally see him he just suspends me for a week or two. It’s like I’m just something he quickly tries to deal with and then ignore it until there is a problem again.” You explained to him. “Kid you still got years to figure this stuff out, but you will.” He took a bite of his food then spoke after he finished chewing, “And hey maybe the family dynamic just isn’t working, it’s not your fault. The Batgirl mantle can become something else.” Suddenly you weren’t interested in your food anymore. “I can see it but that’s the problem, I don’t know who I am if i’m not her. Everyone else who had the title did so much but I keep making mistakes.” Roy had this knowing look on his face. “Your 18 now I say let Bruce suspend Batgirl, pick up a new mantle, and figure it out from there. Or you could start a regular life who knows, it may do wonders.”
The front door opened and Jason walked in, taking a seat across from you. “So what are we talking about?” He asked. “I think it’s time this bat flew the cave.” Roy said. “Now that sounds like a plan.” Jason stated, stealing some of your food. You picked up your phone to see the time, they would all be out on patrol right now. You took the time to update your friends, choosing the larger group chat first; arkham escapees. They thought you faced the wrath of Bruce. Once being informed of what happened Eunwoo complained, “Who’s going to set me up with her hot brother now.” When asked who he meant the junior replied with, “All of them.” But then also added how he hoped you were okay and didn’t get sent off to some reform school upstate New york or some rural midwest one. You sent a quick text, “guys i am ok i didn’t see bruce yet i’m staying w my brother at his place 🫡.” Then you checked the news. Jason and Roy talking to one another while you scrolled. Texts came in from your friends Kim, Callan, Thalia, Jake, Evan, and Naomi. “next thing you know they got her on the news as a runaway.” Naomi joked. “#FREE Y/N 2023.” Jake said. “retweet” Thalia replied. “Ok but what if the news actually does coverage on this?” Eunwoo asked. “Don’t speak that into existence smh.” Kim told him.
Suddenly your phone started ringing and you threw it down on the table. Jason took a look at who was calling and said, “Just answer it they can track your phone so they know your here.” You turned you phone off, Taking out your personal one that you have under an account with a fake id. You texted the other gc they had with this number. “ou she’s on her burner phone guys.” Camila said. “it’s an iphone 12 pro goodbye.” you told them. “Since when did you have that? Jason asked. “Around six months after I moved in.” You replied.
It was 11:00pm and you were growing tired. Jason noticed and said, “Take my room I will take the couch.” “No it’s fine I can sleep on the couch.” You said. “Y/N, I will put you in there and board up the door. There’s enough granola bars to last you a month and the bathroom is connected to there so you will be good.” He joked. “Okay Okay I’ll take the bed. Goodnight.” You got up and grabbed your bag and went to the room. It was very clean which surprised you but then again, they usually were sleeping at their safe houses or on missions somewhere. The group chat had a call going for an hour or two then you told them goodnight and left to try and sleep. Unlike other things today, sleep came easy for you.
Someone was banging on the front door. You texted the group chat to see who was awake. “bitch someone is at my brothers front door knocking like crazy.” Evan responded immediately, “prob eunwoo tryna get his man.” “I know I thirst over her brothers but keep in mind me and Drew are dating plus we both do so it’s okay.” His text was followed by a picture of him and his partner together on the couch, Drew holding up a picture of Tim and Dick. “tim is literally 20 and dick is even older also how does this help nobody seems to have woken up do i go check.” You texted. “everything aside i think your family probably sent the search party by now.” Drew said, they were being realistic so you decided to get up to go check. “wish me luck.” You sent your last text.
The apartment was dark, dimly lit by the street lights from outside and the moon. You kept your footsteps quiet and checked the peephole. Out of all people you did not expect him. You texted the group chat, “speak of the devil and he shall appear it was tim guys.” “Then who’s place are you at? I thought Dick lived in Bludhaven.” Drew asked. Time to play sibling roulette. You typed up a response, “at dukes place with his friend.” The knocking started up again. This time Jason woke up asking, “Who’s at the door?” “Tim.” You told him. “I’ll answer it go to the room.” He told you, instead you stood in the hallway by the two bedrooms out of site. Roy opened his door, rubbing his eyes, “Do you know what time-” You shushed him, “Tim is here keep it down I wanna eavesdrop.” Jason opened the door, “How much coffee did you drink that you had to come here at four in the morning?” “Y/N didn’t come home and never responded to our group chat. I know she’s here.” Tim said. Jason pretended to be annoyed, “She left yesterday a little bit before midnight, sorry.” He went to close the door. “So you wouldn’t mind if I took a look around?” The younger one asked. Roy came up with an idea, opening his bedroom door so you could go in then he normally walked up to them. “What’s going on I’m trying to sleep.” You could tell Roy stayed here more often based on the state of his room. “Jason I’m tired and don’t feel like playing games, where is she?” Tim asked again. Roy started talking and trying to sympathize with him by saying, “I understand how worried you all must be. I’ll shoot Y/N a text seeing if she wants to hang out to see if she responds.”
Two figures stepped out, one on each side of Tim. Dick and Damian. Dick pushed the door further open and walked inside, looking around. The other two followed. “Tim stay here with them, Damian check Roy’s bedroom I will check Jason’s. It sounded like people were getting closer and you looked around. There wasn’t much hiding space and you knew you were being irrational at this point. You just did not want to go back there right now so you hid in a stupid place, the closet. Footsteps could be heard in the bedroom you had accepted your fate by now. The closet door opened, “You know you could have left through the window.” He said. “Wanna do me a favor?” You asked. “No, father is actually extremely upset about the stunt you pulled in school.” Damian told you, grabbing your arm to get you out of the closet. “Sorry.” He said.
The three men in the entry way looked up when Damian and you came into view. “Thought she wasn’t here?” Dick sarcastically questioned. “Can we go now? I want to sleep.” Tim stated. Jason and Roy looked at you sympathetically as they your siblings escorted you out and to the car. After being on the road for awhile in silence Dick spoke up, “B said he will talk to you after the gala tomorrow.” You had forgotten all about that event. Once again when Dick dropped everyone he sped away very quickly. When you all walked in everyone parted ways. They didn’t even look at you. In your room you changed into fluffy pants and a hoodie then left to go to Cass’ room. Reaching the outside of her room the door opened sometimes you are still surprised by how easily she senses someone being there. She let you in and you cried in her arms. There were many nights like this where your sister comforted you even without saying much, “It will be okay sleep now.” You were almost sorry that you planned on leaving once school ended but decided to push that thought away, falling into a dreamless sleep.

My Darkest Hours
Dick grayson x fem!reader
info: somewhat inspired by after hours the weeknd seeing your ex who broke up with you without explanation, reader is a civilian
It was official, you hated galas. The previous night you debated not going since without a doubt he was going to be here. It was unavoidable though since you needed to keep up public appearances, plastering on a fake smile for the media your parents beside you doing the same. The public didn’t know but they had been divorced for two years both having their own hookups here and there. It was the same routine once the flashing lights of the cameras were gone they would split ways, leaving you alone to fend for yourself. Mingling with the wealthy was not one of your strong suits. He used to keep his hand resting on the small of your back, reassuring you that he was still there. Even after all this time had passed you found yourself seeking him out in the crowd.
Dick grayson in all his glory, surrounded by all the daughters of these high end families. They all flock towards him, fawning over his money and looks. Mostly the money though everyone knew the Wayne family was very well off. While you were staring at some point the youngest of their family Damian had walked up to you. “You should go over there.” He advised. “And look like I’m desperate? No thanks.” You replied. “Grayson may not admit it but he misses you.” He explained. “Did he send you over here to say that?” You asked. “L/N, this is extremely painful.” Confusion took over your features, “What?” “You two keep looking at one another when the other looks away. Look at him does he look happy?” Damian asked. You took the time to study your previous boyfriend surrounded in the crowd. Dick didn’t look happy at all, having a smile that didn’t reach his eyes, and overall looking tired. “What do I even say?” Great, you were asking the fifteen year old for advice. “Just start with a simple hello.” He nudged you in the direction of them.
Making your way through the crowd you tried to calm the feeling of anxiety that clawed at your chest, threatening to steal your breath. Technically you two didn’t end on bad terms so there really wasn’t anything to be nervous about. Moving through the multitude of girls you came face to face with Dick Grayson. “Hi.” You said with a smile. His face lit up no longer showing the previous exhaustion. “Y/N, hey. Do you wanna sit at the bar?” He whispered his question, trying to escape the girls. You grabbed his hand leading him to two seats.
“Thank you. That was suffocating.” He told you. After ordering drinks you spoke. “So we have a lot to talk about, Dick.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “Either you start explaining or go join those girls over there again.” You stated, swirling your drink. “I owe you that much. To start off I still do really love you but, let me tell you why we needed to end things.”
a/n literal garbage but there will be a part two

Finding You
Dick Grayson x fem!reader
summary: in almost every universe he has been in love with someone else until, he wasn’t. this won’t have a rlly sad ending i promise
It was the same pattern every single time but, something was different now. Watching the person you love from afar was painful, especially since he just had a flirtatious personality. Somehow you got the guy, both of you were sickeningly in love with one another.
He would watch the stars with you the activity always made you feel so insignificant in the universe, but being with him made everyday crucial. You pictured that when you both were done with this hero business you could settle down. Dick wanted better for you, better for your future family. If there was anyone he would grow old with it was you.
Fate had other plans, of course. It was believed that the heroes could face anything, oh how wrong that was. The initial assault on earth had tragic civilian casualties, in these times the people of earth looked towards their heroes. However this was not a battle that could be fought.
You were aware of the flashpoints, it was something discussed as a “backup” plan. The thought of losing this though scared you. Everyone knew that things would not be the same and key events could change, they hoped that with the chance the league would be successful in stopping the threat or they could buy time. The risks were great not only would your universe change, but the rest of the multiverse too.
Suddenly you were painfully aware of the fact that you may not be with him anymore. You pulled him aside, the two of you were quite a distance away from the remaining heroes. “Thank you for loving me the way that you did Grayson.” By now you both were sat on a rock, arms around one another. “And I’m still going to love you no matter what.” He said, leaning more on you. “Dick, you heard Flash things will be different after this.” You told him, trying to hold your tears at bay. “The two of us will get through this.” He reassured you. “It’s possible there will be no us, don’t you understand?” Your voice was quavering now.
Dick Grayson embraced his lover. “y/n this isn’t a goodbye, it’s a promise. You’re my person and you will always be. No matter what happens now I will find you and if i don’t you have to knock some sense into me once we are together again.” He laughed which caused you to smile. “Till we meet again Boy Wonder.” As the light engulfed everything the soulmates kissed.
In the Watchtower four people stood together. “Robin, I would like you to meet y/s/n. Green Arrow’s protégé.” Batman gestured to you. “Hi!” Your voice was like music to his ears.

Cruel Summer
Dick Grayson x reader
summary: he doesn’t do commitment well neither of you did, however he takes it to a whole other level
Dating him was like a fever dream it didn’t feel real and it should have felt amazing being together, but there was this looming feeling that something was going to happen. You two have been in a relationship for almost four months now yet you never met his family. Part of you felt disappointed, what else could you feel? Sometimes Dick made you feel like he was ashamed of your relationship then he would turn around and all he would do is show you affection. The hot and cold attitude only worsened your fears overtime. Of course you were open about some of the concerns you had.
“Why haven’t I met your family yet?” You asked him one day when the two of you were laying on his bed at his apartment in Bludhaven. He paused from caressing your hair and looked down, you could have swore a look of annoyance crossed his features but as soon as it came it was gone. “I just don’t want to subject you to that, love. My family can be a bit much at times and it wouldn’t be fair to put you through that.” He explained with a concerned look. At the time his reasoning was good enough for you, thinking how amazing he was to not want you to go through that and protecting you as he would call it.
Going on dates had always been a thing for you both, trying new things together and you enjoyed it. As time went on those happened less and less, whenever you suggested something he was always busy or would be called in for work. He was one of Gotham’s most sought after men that also came with a reputation, one which you ignored for some reason. Maybe it was the way he looked at you that could make your heart stop and face get all hot. None of the past boyfriends you had could compare to Dick Grayson. He put all your concerns to ease with his words followed by soft kisses.
With the arrival of summer you were hoping to get more time with him maybe even a vacation together. Of course it didn’t happen and your schedules got in the way once again. Now you wouldn’t say you were addicted to your phone but you did keep up with what went on in the city. “Bruce Wayne’s Ward Lives Up To His Reputation” An article which included your boyfriend dancing with a stunning red head at his father’s charity gala, scrolling you also see him with a ravenette. All this time he never took you with him to these galas but he would dance with those girls and the only thing you could do is watch.
It was the end of August, your birthday to be exact. The two of you were supposed to be out for dinner, he never came. That didn’t stop you from ordering a few drinks before calling a taxi to get to his apartment, crying during the ride. Using your key you opened the door to his apartment quietly only to see the same ravenette from the article in his kitchen making coffee, in his shirt. Her hair was messy and she had visible hickeys, many of them. You looked at her then called out, “Dick Grayson!” The man himself came out of his bedroom in a pair of sweatpants and shirtless. You didn’t even let him speak before going off, “You are a fucking coward that’s what you are, a cheater, and a liar. I knew it was too good to be true you have so many people lining up to be with you. I’m guessing I wasn’t enough huh.” You spat sarcastically. “Don’t be like that.” He said, walking towards you but you moved away. “Be like what? You are the one who cheated on me, on my birthday mind you.” You told him. The girl in the kitchen looked at him, “You said you were single, that was dick move dude.” She told him, moving to get her stuff. “Listen I had no idea, I’m so sorry.” She continued whispering, “I hope you beat his ass.” Then she left the apartment.
The two do you stood in silence before you broke it. “So this is how it is?” You asked him. “I never wanted to hurt you, I love you so much. Babe we are going to go to Hawaii and everything will be fine.” He told you. “Everything will not be fine, no stupid vacation will fix the fact that you cheated.” You were yelling at this point. “I was so grateful that you loved me, that was my mistake.” You walked out of his apartment not stopping for any of his calls.
It was a cruel summer.
