Have you ever thought of making an angler fish lure for cc? I was messing around with your nova antennae in game and bulb shaped ones reminded me of one, and I figured you would probably make a really fantastic one! I only know of one lure cc, and it's broken and turns my sims invisible, so it'd be great to see someone else take a crack at it.

I wanna try playing with emission maps if I ever do try a fish lure cause it'd be a crime for it not to glow 😞.

🐚 MERMAID FREE CC MASTERLIST 🐚

I am really excited to share this as I discovered awesome creators while creating this masterlist, which isn't finished at all, because I know there are more sims creators out there who I haven't seen which can be added :)

Mermay may have passed but it is still summer so why not make an oceanic inspired thread, I present to you a detailed (I tried ok?) masterlist of mermaid/merman/siren CC you can add to your sim.

BIG REQUIREMENT: YOU MUST HAVE ISLAND LIVING EXPANSION PACK. A lot of these CCs require the expansion pack. Others are only accessories, tattoos, skin details, tops,...which work BG but it is best you have Island Living to have the Tails CC.

Another important thing about this post is that all of this content is FREE, but we can't forget to support creators! They gave their time and creative minds to give us this amazing content, so go support them on their Patreon, on their Ko-fi, other socials or just by linking and showing off their CC with credit so more simmers can enjoy it!

RECOMMENDATIONS

Some parts are not linked for mermaids like nails so I recommend starting adding all the skin details, accessories, makeup, nails, etc on your sim directly and in the swimwear slot. Why? That's because their mermaid form is linked with their swimwear.

You may not see some content when you try to make your mermaid, as I say before mermaid form and swimwear are linked. Get rid of that tag and more content would appear.

Remember to have both forms linked if you are editing first the sim directly, it won't transfer to the mermaid form if not! You can go into the mermaid form give the final touches and go back into the sim, UNLINK, and then get rid of the details you don't want on your sim.

I wanna bring a little positivity around here and try and turn this into a bit more of a learning thing, so if anyone is interested, this is how I make my stars in blender! (I'm using 3.6)

I've done it for the earrings, but also for my mooncaster hat and moon maiden set, its quick and kinda fun honestly :3

1. Under "Add", create a 'circle' mesh and under the add circle settings (bottom left), set the vertices to 10 (this will give you a 5 pointed star as the final result, you can play with that number as well! I did 8 for that 4 pointed star charm on the hat! The bigger the number, the more points your star will have!)

2. English is not englishing but like, grab a vertice (point), then skip, then grab the one after, kinda like a sequence, you'll end up with 4 selected. Press S to scale it until it magically forms into a star!

3. Press A to select all, then press f to fill. Now we have a flat star!

4. To give it volume, just keep the whole thing selected and press e, this will extrude the star, you can send it upwards to however thick you want it :)

5. Select that little loop cut tool I highlighted there, then hover on your star and aim for the center of the edge and apply the loop cut.

6. Unselect the loop cut tool (so you dont accidentally make more LOL) and make sure you have your newly made edge selected only, then press S. play around with it until it has the volume you want!

7. You now have a little star :D

Like I mentioned, you can set the number of vertices when creating the circle to get different stars like im showing here below, they make for very easy shapes to make maps for and they look cute when smoothened with the shade smooth :3

(in order here, first is set at 10 vertices, 2nd is 8, and last is 14)

sorry if i'm gonna be quiet for a while. my country recently introduced laws that make it so that in order to use social media to the fullest (not being able to view ns/fw content and in a few cases, not even having access to dms), i HAVE to give the sites my id/face scan.

it goes into effect july 25th. it'll probably effect here too, since this place allows mature content (tho not full on ns/fw)

i'm very distressed about it bc i might end up not even being able to talk to my internet friends. i don't really have any irl ones

if i have to disappear on most socials by then, you know why.
