Year End Reflections.
What is up, Knighthood?! (iykyk)
2024 is coming to an end, and I wanted to take stock (or "hold space" for the {wic}kids), in exactly how wild this year has been.
The Knighthood
The Knighthood has uploaded 31 new videos to the YT channel since July, when AgentElf and I decided to intentionally invest our time and money into building an online community and content-factory.
AgentElf made play-throughs of Amnesia and Mouthwashing, 2 solo-horror-puzzle games.
I made my very first video essay about my first play-through of Kingdom Come Deliverance.
We celebrated hitting 100 subscribers on YouTube and then the following day, 2 people unsubscribed.
We hosted Pummel Party, Dead by Daylight, and Tabletop Simulator gaming events!
We created a handful of custom emojis and sound-bytes from our freshman year of content, paying tribute to our supportive friends and marking the beginning of The Knighthood's recorded lore.
bern and I started building a mobile game, Posers, in Unity and it's turning out great!
I leveled up my software skill-tree by learning: Blender, GIMP, and DaVinci Resolve.
oh yeah... and I became a DAD!
Goals for 2025
Produce more sketch comedy content.
Start AgentElf's cooking series.
Host gaming tournaments and content contests.
Reach 1000+ YouTube subscribers.
Upgrade AgentElf's battlestation.

Going all in on Discord.
After encouragement from a couple of my coworkers, I built my first PC (shout out to pcpartpicker.com). This inevitably led me to creating a Twitch Channel, which is a surefire way to find yourself creating a Discord server. So began, The Knighthood. I like nerd shit, and medieval fantasy is at the top.
Especially, Lord of The Rings.
After getting my technical bearings of streaming out of the way, I realized how default and boring my channel looked. I needed a brand. This is how my relationship with Canva began. When I saw a free-tier, E-Sports-type dragon head, there wasn't even a decision to make.
Graphic Design is my passion.
After the Twitch Channel was updated, I decided to give The Knighthood the same coat of paint. I created themed chat channels, themed roles, and even integrated a bot that welcomes newcomers and bids them farewell when they embark on new quests [†] .
A colleague of mine reached out recently to talk shop about Android Development, and while I felt privileged to be in a position to help a friend, I'd sooner run a marathon barefoot at Legoland than have that conversation over text message. So I sent him an invite for The Knighthood and after he joined he replied, "Whoa you really do have a discord!"
But The Knighthood is just getting started. AgentElf has taken on the role of an🔮Oathkeeper (moderator) and together we have a grand vision for the future of The Knighthood.

Game with My Wife
My wife and I play this game (more of a running bit really), that either one of us will bring up when we, at least I for sure, recognize something so embarrassingly specific within ourselves, we try to express it as if we are titling our own standup comedy special.
We have played so long that now my wife has started asking me, "wait, what was the really good one I had last time?" And I can never remember. (Neither can she, this isn't some kind of are-men-okay-they-must-hate-their-wives-if-they-can't-remember-everything-they've-ever-said. It's just a game we play to distract ourselves from embarrassment (and if I were a betting man, I'd say 'cringe' became slang for embarressing because it's hard to spell)[1.1] and, our brains try to forget those moments, so the bits often go with them[1.0]. So I have decided that it would be fun to keep a running list of them here, in case I ever get the balls... to forgive myself to get back onstage. "You want to cancel John Mulaney? I'll KILL John Mulaney!" ~Baby J

"High-Functioning" - That was my therapist's extremely nice response to me asking for a grade during my 3rd session (not how it works apparently). But if I wanted to lean on the wordplay of "high" as in THC, I'd want any and all my references too weed to be non-comedic as to avoid sounding like a hack. I'm not sure if this title is good enough to warrant working that hard.
"Overthinking" - but it will read "Thinking" with a graphic of me jumping over the word "Thinking." I'm "over" thinking. Over-thinking. It makes more sense when you can see it... I think.
Wife:
I don't remember any of hers right now, but hopefully I remember that I wrote this post at all. (I'm violently high right now)[1.2].

That feeling after a board game.
There are 2 types of people: Board game nerds and those who make fun of board game nerds. (Sometimes they're the same person).

If you're at all the first type, you are familiar with that desperate feeling right when a game ends where all you want to do is play again. You've seen the game in it's entirety and you know what you would have done differently had you only known how that one mechanic related to a winning strategy.
A pang of regret quickly replaced with excitement.
What a privilege it is to have another chance.
