Was inspired after reading "Loves me like a dog" by @cowboyism (Syntheticpalindromes on Ao3), though it's more based on vibes and the idea of Benson as wounded dog than any specific scene from the fic (which you should read). The text is from "Cop Car" by Mitski, which fits Benson incredibly well in my humble opinion.
