7-minute planking again! Again, there is a surprise at the end!

A week ago, Danielle and I brought her niece to the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo. I was reminded of pleasant childhood memories I have of when my parents used to take me there. Happy Hollow still feels about as pleasant as it did before.

For the past two years, there has been a small routine I do each night before bed: I type up two things I did today that made me happy and two things that I am grateful for. I have found that this helps nurture my optimism.

I like the fight scenes of the Star Wars prequels. I especially like the three-way sword fight choreo of Episode I, and how so much personality is communicated in a five-minute sequence that only has one word of dialogue.

7-minute plank time! Apologies for the delay in uploading this one. Just didn’t get to it until now.

Last week I went to the movies and saw a horror film by the name of “Skinamarink” (like the children’s song). The basic premise is that two little kids wake in the middle of the night and find their parent missing, along with the doors and windows. It is filmed like the Blair Witch Project and edited like an Analog Horror video. The atmosphere makes one feel like a helpless child experiencing a nightmare. There were only about five other people in the theater, so it was definitely a unique experience for me!

There’s a short film on YouTube by the name of “Heck” that is quite similar, and directed by the same person (Kyle Edward Ball).

A 7-minute plank! I tried to avoid looking at my timer this time, and ended up getting startled at the alarm haha.

My favorite colors are blue and green. On a related note, the fictional characters I associate most with those two colors are Sonic the Hedgehog and the Riddler - both of whom I find to be quite fun and appealing.

I enjoy using Wikipedia and other similar Wiki websites. It feels pleasant to edit Wiki articles that are missing information.

Happy holidays and Happy New Years, everyone. It’s been about a year since I started living with my fiancé, and I am looking forward with what this next year has in store for us. Wedding preparations are a challenge!

My favorite time and place to jog is a summer sunset downhill - usually it’s just the right temperature, the sky is such a pleasant color to me, and it feels nice seeing the view of the path ahead of me.

Weekly 7 min of planking!

I watched Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio movie earlier today. Spoiler warning for my thoughts below!

I was moved by the film’s emphasis on the bittersweet brevity that comes with human mortality, and the ethics of biding by the law during fascist era Italy. Seeing Pinocchio visit the graves of his family made me tear up.

It’s the weekend, so here’s another 7 min of planking!

Whenever I plank or jog (or do something that requires waiting a specific amount of time), I imagine a song playlist in my head. I keep in mind roughly how long each of the songs are so that they finish around the moment my timer rings. This way, the wait is not too much of a pain or bore. If I actually listen to music, it distracts me from comfortably maintaining my form/technique.

I like when movies, video games, and other works of entertainment have characters show their personality through how they fight. I enjoy Shang-Chi, Dragon Ball, and the Ip Man movies so much largely because that distinction is made really clear.

I have lost about 40 pounds in the span of a year. I currently plank 6 days per week and jog 1 day per week. Planking and jogging are my favorite forms of exercise.

About one-and-a-half months ago I went to my 10-year high school reunion. It was wonderful seeing how everyone’s grown, and hearing what we have all been up to the past decade. How quickly time flies.
