German timetable

So I was really confused. I live in Belgium, so we learn German at school. and in our textbook there was a timetable of the lessons in Germany and they start at 8 o’clock and end at 14 o’clock or something. IS THIS REAL??? Because then I’m moving to Germany! I have school until 17:10 on Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday until 12 o’clock. Thursday and Friday we end at 16:20. and we always start at 8 o’clock. I mean com’on. This can’t be real!?
