When I was as young as eight I would've been classed by modern antis as a proshipper because of my views on fiction, which boiled down to;

Its not real. Reading or writing about murder doesn't make me a murderer. I don't care if someone writes about murder because I know it doesn't make them a murderer either.

As a child I can promise you I did not give a single fuck about the kinds of things antis cry about. Because I was a child. And even as a child I knew the difference between fiction and reality.

Children need to be protected from predators. From overexposure. From exploitation. From damaging societal standards. Children need to be protected from the real life things that are causing them harm. Not from literature.

I don't think younger/newer users fully grasp the shit show that ace discourse was around 2014-17

It was so hostile that, to this day, discussions that begin to derail just enough can make me physically nauseous, some specific mockery trigger crying sessions years later. We lost most accounts with any sort of ace positivity. There was no information, no support, and all this damage was done predominantly by other queer people.

All this to say that you, however you identify yourself, should be engaging with aphobic comments the same way you do any hate. We don't sugarcoat or try to be comprehensive with people who are blatantly racist, homophobic or terfs, so why give it a pass just because it's coming from a queer person? I see how this tolerance goes and it's done enough damage as it is.

"we have to keep this website safe for the children who use it" Argument based on fallacy banning pornography and sex workers does not prevent pornography and sex work from occuring on the site, it only forces aforementioned users to hide and avoid labling their content appropriately, which REDUCES the safety for children and sex workers alike instead of increasing it, this has been shown to the point that making this argument at all is tantamount to admiting fascist intent APPEAL DENIED

I don’t mean to accuse anybody of anything here, but does anyone else get the vibe some antis just see the fandom’s main OTP and join up based solely on that?

Because, some of these people are in fandoms that go against everything they supposedly stand for.   How did they slog through the constant bad/wrong stuff in canon for them to be suprised by occasional bad/wrong stuff in fanon?
