Hundred Years' War - A Bloody Century
The situation became tense as French warships patrolled outside English Channel settlements. In 1337, Philippe VI declared Gascogne estates French possessions. Edward III responded by declaring himself the rightful heir to the French throne. Sporadic military skirmishes broke out on England and France's coasts. In December 1338, the French attacked Gascogne. The war officially began.

When the plague came to Constantinople, the capital city of the Byzantine Empire, it killed 300,000 people in its first year. The Justinian Plague is also considered the first pandemic recorded in human history. It spread across Europe, Asia, North Africa, and the Arab world.

6 Mysteries of the Amazon - Why Are There No Bridge Over It?
The Amazon River is long and full of water, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to build a bridge over it, especially in the dry season when the stream is narrowed to an average width of 3–10 km. The number seems huge, but considering that the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco is 2.7 kilometers long and was built successfully, building a bridge over the Amazon River is entirely possible. So why doesn't it have any bridges? Which mysteries of the Amazon make building a bridge impossible? The following will surprise you.

Weapons That Changed Warfare
We cannot talk about war without talking about weapons that changed warfare. Humans wage war against each other with similar weapons. Over the ages, civilization has become more advanced, and weapons have also become more deadly. More dangerous weapons require soldiers and generals to be up-to-date with new tactics. That's why the American Civil War was the bloodiest in the history of this country when breech-loading rifles were so popular but people still used the tactics of the days of the musket.
