I’ve also noticed the trend of Elena-twin stories not really changing anything if at all, to the point that I usually avoid that trope now. (I feel like I’ve read all the good ones already, and most of them aren’t even complete yet).

Vampire diaries is my I-could-watch-this-forever-and-never-get-tired-of-it show, so I’m excited about anything new to do with it. Especially new fanfics!

I have a summary! I write all my summaries with the fanfic dot net summary 184 character limit in mind because when/if I ever get to posting, I’ll cross-post on there and Ao3. So here we go:

“Roslyn Brett spent five years traveling across the world learning various forms of magic from every coven she could find, or ones that found her first. When she finally decided to move back to her hometown of Mystic Falls, she thought the worst was behind her. Funny, for all she Knew the Truth of it All, she never could have guessed what the future held in store for her.”

So Roslyn is a well-traveled witch with a ~mysterious concept~ surrounding her.

In relation to TVD, I very specifically made Roslyn older and more removed from the main Gilbert’s because I’m so tired of Elena-Twin stories that don’t change a single fucking thing about the plot whatsoever.

Like hit-for-hit, scene-for-scene, exactly the same except the twin/oc takes some of the dialogue (which is also exactly. the. same.)

So I want to avoid that while still getting to the big plot points of each season (up to like half way through 4, at least).

I’ve ranted to my mom enough that I have more plans for this than probably any other story right now.

Briefly jumping back to my HotD fic.

Here’s my chart that I use to keep track of things because for the most part this story follows the show (until it doesn’t), but I’ve changed some of the ages (even more) and adjusted the timeline accordingly. I also add some supplementary knowledge from Fire and Blood to help fill things out.

Old old old drawings I did for Alysanne when I first started writing down ideas for Desert Wolf.

The first two are formal Dornish outfits for after her marriage to Oberyn. Middle two are formal dresses for Winterfell. The last two are her Dornish inspired wedding dress and Stark marriage cloak.

And in classic GRRM fashion, she gets married young at 14, which would make Oberyn 19.
