When Aizawa’s late friend returns as a ghost, he’s forced to team up with you, an overseas actress and childhood friend of Oboro’s, to bring him back to heaven. The problem is, the only way to send Oboro back is to fulfill his undying wish— a wish that he doesn’t even know himself.

a/n ⟶ hi :,) it’s been a year since i made this blog. my first full length fic was an aizawa one, so i wanted to come full circle and see how far i’ve grown as a writer. this is an anohana au i’ve been working on for a while now, and even though aizawa’s one of my favorite characters he’s still the hardest to write. thank u to all of my followers and my friends that have been w me through the entire journey and helped me grow not only as a person but as a writer 💘 i can’t write emotionally charged scenes unless i’m emotional as well (?) so yeah. i wrote most of this while depressed and sleepy. and WOW the word count kinda took off with this.

Ah, you’re Aizawa-san,” You nodded politely, reaching out to shake his hand. He paused briefly before accepting your hand, not really in the mood for introductions. “I’m L/N Y/N, but I guess you already knew that.”

Not really, he thought dumbly. No matter how famous you were, or in what movie you were in, or how philanthropic your efforts, Aizawa wasn’t one to care about celebrities. Although, he gave you the benefit of the doubt.

He found himself in quite the room, decorated cleanly and expensively, too expensive for the black joggers he sported and the unshaven stubble on the chin. It’s quite the contrast really, how Aizawa doesn’t belong there nor anywhere like it, but he supposed that he appreciated that no one else was with you.

“Did you really have to buy out the entire restaurant?” he mumbled, scratching his chin. The mere thought of his warm bed made him a little sleepy. “We could have just done this at my place.”

“This ensures privacy, after all, I don’t want any of your neighbors to make assumptions about us.”

At that, he almost snorted. Was it really that bad for the media to assume you were in a relationship with a guy like him?

“Go on, then,” Aizawa crosses his arms, boredly. He’d much rather think of what he could afford to eat for the next week than have brunch with a woman he’s never met before. “I’m sure I’m not as busy as you are, but I have things to do.”

“You do know why we’re here, right?”

Hallucinations. You had travelled all the way from America to talk to him about hallucinations.

More specifically, the shared apparitions between you and Aizawa about a childhood friend you shared. Shirakumo Oboro, the only real connection that bound you two by fate.

Who had died when Aizawa was still in college.

“Let’s get straight to the point,” he huffed, rocking back slowly forwards and backwards to feel sensation in his dying leg. “We both have some serious issues, and should see a therapist. Problem solved.”

“We’ve been getting the same visions at the exact same time even though we don’t know each other, Aizawa-san.” Your eyebrow twitched, and no one could tell which one of you was more annoyed. “Isn’t that, I don’t know, a bit strange?”

“And being followed by a ghost is more rational?” he shot back, making you narrow your eyes at him.

Judging from first impressions, he already didn’t like you. You were obviously the type of person to take charge in a room, who maintained their word as fact until there was irrefutable evidence that suggested otherwise. With the means and cash to assert that dominance. He always thought those types of people were a pain in the ass, too brash and too annoying.

“Can you guys just relax?” the third, and arguably most irritating voice finally rang in.

Both you and Aizawa shot a nasty look at the source of all your problems, Shirakumo Oboro himself.
