Now that corporations and celebrities are deciding to join tumblr due to the hellscape that is twitter, now is an excellent time to remind everyone as to why exactly you should be blocking any corporations and celebrities which pop up.

If we start getting more corporations on here and they see any sort of success (yes, even notes from hate on them — in the eyes of corporations any publicity is good publicity) we will be getting more and more corporations. The more corporations we get, the more sanitized this webstie gets, and the more advertisements from corporations we get.

And the more celebrities which try and make their way on here, the more profitable this website will start seeming — which once again will make the corporations run here to start advertising their products.

No, I don't care who it is that comes here, block them regardless. Do not interact with them. No Duolingo isn't acceptable to interact with because you enjoy their services — they will bring more corporations with them. What if we get chick fil a? Amazon? Tesla? What if another billionaire sees tumblr becoming profitable and decides to buy it like what happened with twitter?

Whenever you see a celebrity and/or a corporation block. Just block. Don't let tumblr get dragged down with every other social media site.

What do you mean by good faith/bad faith identities?

Hi there anon! So to explain what I mean, "good faith" identities refer to identities that people genuinely use (so like gay straight bi trans nonbinary xenogenders conflicting labels etc.), whilst bad faith ones refer to ones that don't really exist because someone identifies as them if that makes sense? They're generally there specifically to cause harm to others (think of stuff like "super straight". It's not an identity/label meant because the person genuinely wants to use it, it's literally just transphobia and a way to harm trans people and make yourself openly known as a transphobe) or something which most definitely isn't actually a part of the community but is there to try and leech off of the fact that the community's gotten some more visibility (maps this point is specifically about maps).
