so i've watched the episode twice now and i just rewatched the trailer, and i'm pretty sure that the murder victim is.

a rat.

hear me out. s1 was a standard, classic murder, s2 was contract fraud (and ip theft) and s3? s3 is rat race match fixing.

someone, somewhere has a lot of money riding on a specific rat winning the Midnight Alley Rat Race. they're taking out the compitition, planting rat steriods and starting rat doping scandals. their chosen rat has to win and they will stop at nothing to make sure the victory wreath goes to the right rat.

i am open to the idea of the victim being a rat trainer or a rat jockey, or perhaps someone who owns a tried and tested pedigree racing rat, but i stand by my first theory because it's the funniest.

Worth adding to your difference list perhaps, is the fact his hair goes up, supposedly, Celestial Spear Eugene Classic's hair only looks that way because it got messed up right before they saw his and he was too amnesia'd to fix it.

Although Julia rarely draws him this way, it is supposedly his preferred hairstyle.

Putting Drawtectives season 3 stuffs here because it'll get lost in the discord - so anyway spoilers for new guy...

I'm calling him Twogene for now.

Quick comparison:

Overall clothing vibe of wrap + big coat/cape thing + no shirt is same, but Twogene has tiddy and shoulder out making me think he's less innocent than his bro.

I mean it could be Eugene and something's up with him, but I feel like Jancy would have said it was him...and also making Twogene canon is just too heckin funny to pass up.

Lore thoughts are: Maybe we gets some Eugene backstory, but also kinda confirmation that Jancy was familiar with Eugene and his family before season 2?

(Also I don't think the victim is Eugene because I feel like Jancy or Twogene would have known that beforehand, but I do wager that he's been knocked out or is in Gareville or otherwise unavailable for most of the season.
