me: I'm done grieving, I already accepted my illness and all it brings with it, it's totally ok
also me on a random tuesday: my life is never going back to what it was, I'm never going to be able to do the things I loved the most the same, it's over and I gotta learn to live with that but it's kinda impossible because I'm so young and I had so many dreams and so many things I wanted to do that I can't anymore, at least not without all this pain and suffering

kill the part of you that thinks you're god's holiest saint for helping a disabled person open a door

Did you grow up as a disabled person and think "man, I am shit at being a human being. How does everyone do it?" and then think you were just lazy or less motivated and start believeing everyones comments about how you have no motivation and are genuinely just lazy and then you still wonder why you're not good enough no matter how hard you try and then you get old enough to realize that not everyone experiences the same thing you do and you were just given a short straw or are you normal?

what does "waking up refreshed" even mean??? there's no way people actually feel good after sleeping.

Idk who needs to hear this but you’re not lazy, you’re disabled

way too many disabilities still exist in the public consciousness as “childhood illnesses”, and that majorly contributes to the infantilisation we’re subjected to

Im really tired of medical professionals not realising that their behaviour and their colleagues behaviour literally traumatises people.

shout out to physically disabled people who can't engage with the hobbies they like because of their disability. like fashion, food, gaming, etc. there's a lot of things that people mock: like wearing plain baggy clothing, being "picky" about food or demanding food intolerances to be taken seriously. about playing games on easy or not playing them at all and only watching a play-through. it's tough enough to be held back from engaging with things that you enjoy even without being mocked for the concessions you have to make. someone with absolutely no disability but makes the same choices, like playing games on easy or peaceful, also doesn't deserve mockery. i just feel like being mocked for something outside of your control is really bitter because it indirectly mocks you for being disabled.

The disabled person's dream: a machine you can hook up to people (mostly doctors and family members) that lets them feel your symptoms firsthand so that they finally believe how horrible you feel

Honestly with the way things are looking nowadays I should just tell people I’m a wizard with a staff rather then just telling them I’m disabled. I feel like they’d be more understanding then.
