We're all coming out of the woodwork now that Steven Universe is over. Recently I had started watching it with a very dear and close person in my life, which has become a near nightly thing. Sharing the reveals, jokes, fandom history and tidbits with them has reminded me of the excitement I felt when I started the show nearly five years ago. Here we are in the future and there we were; I'm positive everyone who watched, grew, drew, cosplayed and created in any capacity is gonna share their thoughts tonight. Now we move on to some other happily ever after and rewatch this thing!

There's only so many ways one can say "Hey it's been a while" in succession: life gets in the way, no drive, zero inspiration, etc. It's no secret I take these hiatuses in the blink of an eye and return for some odd number of weeks only to fall out of it again. It doesn't necessarily need an explanation, art happens when it happens and it isn't obligated to be made, but here I go.

Easiest ways to say it is I kinda just haven't liked it. Much of my social media presence across the board has stopped, since around February or earlier I would say. I haven't even opened my laptop in the longest time to attempt to sprite, much less had any ideas. There has been a lack of interest of putting things out there: updates on my life, photos, artwork. I've done some really amazing things that surely would make for fun anecdotes, but, I just haven't bothered.

There are likes here and there, which I will never stop appreciating. It's a dry spell, and that's nothing new, but I just don't really feel motivated to try. On one hand, it's not my profession to do so and any art I post is purely by my accord. On the other, I feel like I would have to because of the fans and well wishers I've gained in my years on this platform. I've seen many new artists arrive here and I am ecstatic to see them creating! @yeeshastone, @weirdandwackypokefusions, @z-nogyrop-draws, @marinaraimpasta, just to name a few, are all artists I've had the pleasure of either knowing or finding. If anybody would give me inspiration during this funk, it'd be them and so many others.

I've watched a lot of movies, I've celebrated my birthday, got a haircut, gotten into enamel pins and toy photography, and I've changed my fashion sense. I feel as though I'm just getting older. Maybe I've shifted focus to other things and left this? Maybe I just need the right push. I do feel bad, but understand that I'm not under any sort of contract to create. I do miss it though.
