The jungle sequence with the cardboard layers moving like a pop-up book in The wonderful story of Henry Sugar - one of the most stunning things Wes Anderson has ever put to screen.

I was so disappointed by the lack of 'Viggo in head to toe Rick Owens in Crimes of the Future' that I had to make my first post in ages, you're welcome

One of my favorite things about Alber's iconic Lanvin pieces is how *extremely dramatic* they could be, even though at their core they were very clean, essential, always elegant, somehow minimalistic pieces. It was a marvelous time for fashion, long gone for sure, just look at who today's scam artists successful designers are.

"Two different women told me two different things at two different times, and I always go back to them. One person told me that every time she wears Lanvin men fall in love with her, and I thought that was so beautiful. The other one told me that she was in a taxi going to face her husband’s lawyer because she was getting a divorce, but she was wearing Lanvin and she felt so protected. If I can make men fall in love with women and if I can protect women, I think I can die peacefully." ALBER ELBAZ

Alber Elbaz turned a forgotten house into an iconic brand that everyone associates with class and elegance. He was driven out by corporate greed and it's so so unfair that the fashion world didn't embrace him more and now we lost him forever. He was such a joyful man who loved women, may be rest in peace.

Casino- Martin Scorsese, 1995
At the beginning of Sam and Ginger’s relationship, he gifts her a brooch. It makes a second appearance later in the film, when she wants to divorce. Her attire is now almost mourning-like, but still glittery. Scorsese’s Casino is a masterpiece and I have many feelings about it, especially about its fantastic costumes (the costume budget: 6 million) and the way he used them as signifiers.
I made a long twitter thread about them here: https://twitter.com/misss_ff/status/1355831085809209344?s=21
