I recently finished watching HunterxHunter. It's now one of my favourite animes.

I'd like to do the other characters as well but I probably should start on my Wyll baroque painting first.

Everybody knows that Killua’s birthday is on Tanabata and it’s the star holiday and that might be why there’s so much star symbolism with these two.  But I was looking a bit more into it, and i found some very interesting (terribly heartbreaking) things. First of all Tanabata is also sometimes celebrated on august 7th because people interpret the original lunar calendar differently. Now me being the worst, I absolutely had to know what happened on august 7th of canon, so apparently august seventh was selection day, the day where Gon fought pitou. So that made me think of the the two panels of shooting stars that we see. The first when Gon and killua are stargazing on whale island. 

The second panel being right after Killua’s “Lover’s suicide” conversation with Meleoron. ON AUGUST 7th, the other day that Tanabata is believed to be on. 

Now this made me mad, because I think the parallel is pretty much intentional, but then why is there any difference in the two panels? WHY IS THERE CLOUDS IN THE SECOND ONE BUT NOT IN THE FIRST ? Then I remembered this fun little fact.
