finally got around to designing all the rangers and their suits! hey what's that retiree doing there
design notes and rambles below the cut
first of all, huge thanks to the miraheze wiki for compiling all the known details 🫶 this is a project i've wanted to complete for the longest time and i couldn't have done it without having the info in one convenient place (go check it out if you haven't already it's really cool and we're working hard on it!!)
i was thinking of including mortum but i decided to keep them saved for a villains set. so far i'm planning villains (mortum, heartbreak jr., puppet, dove, sky raider, hg trio, shroud, and so on), the guardians, and past rangers & co (sidestep, anathema, sentinel, etc). ok maybe that's like too much but well. might as well give it a try while we're all in the revelations waiting room
rangers logo is courtesy of my buddy @phantomrush who came up with this design after i made one up with eagles in mind because. well the rangers sure are federal workers and you know what that means. ortega is two steps away from being captain america

Being a villain by occupation means it’s easy to forget that, in the eyes of other tormentors like yourself, you’re no different from any other civilian when you’re not in armor—just another prospective victim of their whims and agendas. And so here you are, the infamous Heartbreak, haplessly swept up into a villainous scheme, with Herald of all people as company. You only address Daniel once you take cover behind one of the temporary walls upon which various frames are mounted on. “This place is getting robbed, isn’t it?” you ask, deadpan.
here it is, my longest complete writing project to date in all its glory. 10k+ words of herald being a sap, sidestep being less of an ass than they'd like to be, and some los diablos politics by the virtue of it being in the POV of an anarchist. i hope you enjoy!

actually, im curious-- what do people usually imagine the catastrofiend to look like? we get a few descriptors (tall, weird eye mods, mouth isn't normal, vestigial arms, can run on all fours, can be very quiet while mobile, the iconic extra scythe arms from the back, looks like a monster/demon/whatever and so on) but im not sure if theres any consensus how thats supposed to look all put together. does it wear shorts
