I’ve got a lot of questions about this during my Art Center time, so I drew it ! This system came from when I had to manage my time during art high school (8am-5pm everyday) with 2 waitress jobs. Everybody has different working method, but I will be more than happy if anyone gets new idea from it !

Testing GT-190:

I’ve been doing digital art for some years now and for the last few years I’ve been happy to work on my Wacom Cintiq 24″. However the Cintiq is very expensive, and it’s only lately that I myself have been able to afford one. So when I were contacted to try out the Huion GT-190, I were excited to test it and see how it compares :)

Arrival: The screen arrived well packaged and in good condition. It​ appeared solid and good quality - I like the level​ling​ on the back on the screen and how easy it slides - however the pen appeared cheap and the fact that it needs charging is not a plus. It came with a bunch of additional tips, but unlike the ​C​intiq, it’s only one kind.

Setup: I had some troubles setting up the Huion, after having it plugged in. The screen aspects ​I ​had to go through ​a couple of times before I we​re​ ​content with it and the pen didn’t respond in the beginning, unless I unplugged the screen from the computer. However the ​customer help from Huion was great and they navigated me through the challenges.

Performance: The colors on the screen are off to the e​x​tend that I take it back and forth to my computer​ ​screen to make sure ​these are correct​ - ​a problem I also have with the Cintiq​ though​ - and the resolution is not the best. But when it comes to responding while working (I work in Photoshop CC) it performs very well and with good accuracy.  

Conclusion: I will not be trading in my Cintiq 24″ for the Huion, but as a beginning to digital drawing and as a second screen it performs very well. It gives you what you need to work digitally and with an impressively low price​​ compared to the Cintiq. I​t’s a great place to start. I used: Macbook Pro, Photoshop CC and Kyle T Websters brushes

I AGREE! This is largely how I experienced my own depression a few years ago, and it's only very recently that I truly realize it was actually depression. Sneaky little bastard

I’m sure some people will fight me on this, but for real–Viktor Nikiforov at the beginning of YOI is probably the closest depiction of my experience of depression that I’ve ever seen in any media, including anything I’ve ever created.

* lack of interest/emotion * repeatedly forgetting important things (like promises to Yurio) * depression is triggered strongly by success * deals with it by deciding to–in a matter of hours–toss away a wildly successful career that is making him miserable to do something incredibly rewarding that his former colleagues think is a joke * incredibly good at faking it * ability to fake it only worsens depression * not parsed by anyone around him as depression because, heh, he’s not SAD and he’s SUCCESSFUL and how could he be depressed

There’s a lot of talk about Yuuri’s mental health issues, and those are amazing, but Viktor starts off the show in what reads to me as a pretty deep depression. Episode 10 and 11, when he’s finally experiencing emotions again, and is grounded in the moments that he is in, instead of free-floating outside them, are incredibly meaningful to me.

It took me more than 30 years to understand that what happened to me was depression, and I so rarely see depression as I experience it portrayed anywhere, so…

TL;DR this show is extraordinary.
