What is 7th Central Pay Commission
Government personnel directly affected by the 7th Pay Commission have made a number of demands, including equal treatment for similar cadres or groups, a standard pay for entry-level employees, increased frequency of Career Progression, pay transparency, and current grade pay, among others.
Highlights of 7th Pay Commission
The minimum wage will be Rs.18,000.
The suggested maximum pay will be set at Rs. 225,000.
Cabinet secretary and similar positions at the top of the food chain: The starting salary is Rs. 250,000.
The current system of Grade Pay and Pay Band will be replaced with the new Pay Matrix system.
To arrive at the new pay scales, a factor of 2.57 will be applied consistently to all employees' current pay.
As per the 6th Pay Commission, the annual increment rate will continue at 3%.
Pay Matrix
The Pay Matrix has been a simple and easy-to-understand table that is both predictable and evident. Stakeholders interacted with the 7th Pay Commission to express their needs, which included uncommon place remedy of comparable cadres, uncommon place pay for entry-level employees, increased frequency of the Modified Assured Career Progression, obvious pay shape, and rationalisation of the modern grade pay shape. Here's where you can get a copy of the 7th CPC in pdf format :-  7thCPC_resolution.pdf
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pay Band
Pay Band is a pay scale in keeping with the pay grades. It is part of the earnings system as it's miles used to rank distinct jobs with the aid of using education, responsibility, location, and different more than one factors. 'Pay' withinside the pay band approaches the pay drawn withinside the going for walks pay bands. There are  total of 8 pay bands -
PB-1 :5200-20200
PB-2 :9300-34800
PB-3 :15600-39100
PB-4 :37400-67000
PB-5 :67000-79000
PB-6 :75500-80000
PB-7 :80000
PB-8 :90000
Grade Pay or Pay level
Grade pay or Pay level are the same thing. The minimal pay at every degree may be the access pay for direct recruits for the ones levels. Each degree has been positioned equidistantly. The numerous tiers inside a degree moves upwards on the fee of three percent in line with annum.
The pay matrix accommodates dimensions. It has a “horizontal range” wherein every degree corresponds to a ‘practical function withinside the hierarchy’ and has been assigned the numbers 1, 2, and three and so forth until 18. The “vertical range” for every degree denotes ‘pay progression’ inside that degree.
So that's all there is to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix; in the future blog, we'll go through the grade-level positions available in various government authorities.
Since Government jobs are highly competitive and always in demand, so we provided some basic details that every government applicant should know about it while preparing for exams.
