rottmnt headcanons (pt.1?)

this is short I was just bored 🤞

(I have hella more than just these)

Raph

- he has one of those stuffed animal net things above his bed because he doesn’t have room for all of them ON his bed

- ^ apologizes and feels bad if he knocks one off accidentally + makes his brothers apologize if they so much as move one to make room or if they knock one off (Leo throws them across the room)

- Implemented a swear jar; to no surprise, Donnie has paid the most

- has a scar on his bottom lip from his snaggle tooth and accidentally biting himself

- sobbed while watching the Barbie movie because he realized they don’t rlly have a mom 😭 (he still smothered Splinter after)

- there are just random holes and dents in the walls in the lair (especially his room) from his spikes

Leo

- said it once, and I’ll say it over and over again. He is a Taylor Swift stan, and ONLY refers to her as ‘TayTay,’ ‘T Swizzle,’ or ‘T Sweezy’

- ^favorite album is 1989

- Blasts ‘tolerate it’ when he’s “mad” at Donnie or Raph (or when they hurt his feelings)

- messiest room out of his brother, EXCEPT he keeps his shelves with his figures, comics, and stuff super neat

- ^walls are almost fully covered in posters

- makes A LOT of audible turtle noises like hissing, churring, etc.

- his knuckles and joints crack so fucking loud (he does it just to annoy Raph bc he hates the sound)

- ASTONISHING intuition. he’s one of those people who just KNOW when you’re hiding something or just like when bad things are about to happen.

- HATES carbonation

- Doesn’t usually show it, but it genuinely hurts his feelings when his family doesn’t listen to him about his science and inventions and interests

“Oh sweet Galileo, help me..” Donnie muttered to himself before pushing his goggles up and turning to face you as you came in and stood in the doorway, “Yes, my dearest Y/N?” He smiled nervously.

“Did you yell at him?” You were holding a pouting Shelldon to your chest like he’s a toddler. Well, he basically is.

Donnie gasped and looked between you and his little drone, stammering, “I-…I- ok, yes, I may have. But- but he broke my-“

“No buts! He’s just a baby!” You huffed and patted Shelldon, who gave a fake sniffle and nodded in agreement, on the ‘shell.’

“A baby?! He’s on version 13!” Donnie crossed his arms.

“I don’t care!” You huffed again and turned your back to your boyfriend. “It’s ok, Shelly. He’s so mean to you, isn’t he?” You cooed, gently petting Shelldon’s head.

“So mean, dude.” Shelldon agreed and gave another fake sniffle.

“Oh, puh-lease. Spare me.” Donnie scoffed under his breath. “Y/N, you don’t understand-“

“Now, apologize. What do you say?” You narrowed your eyes and held Shelldon out to him, who glared at his ‘father,’ “Yeah! What do you say?”

Donnie’s jaw dropped as his incredulous gaze flickered between the two of you again, “You’re taking his side?”

“He doesn’t know any better, Donnie.” You hissed, but your gaze softened as you looked back down at the little turtle drone in your arms, “How can you be so cruel to my sweet little baby?” You purred, rubbing your cheek on Shelldon’s head.

“Yeah! How could you, Dee?” Shelldon agreed, nuzzling your cheek.

“Wh-?! I-..you-…” Donnie stammered in disbelief and offense.

“Have you learned NOTHING from Dr.Feelings?! Where is Mikey? MICHELANGELO-“ You turned and walked out, Shelldon making a noise like he was blowing a raspberry at Donnie over your shoulder.

Donnie jumped out of his seat to follow you, “NO, Y/N, please don’t tell Mikey!”

Donatello has been known for his irregular, deplorable sleep schedule. He’s spent many nights in his lab, staying up til ungodly hours of the night to finish whatever he was working on. His brothers can’t recount just how many times they’ve run into him just then getting to bed after pulling all-nighter as they were getting up.

He’s knows it’s not good for him, but what can you do? Sleep can wait, science cannot.

But you? No, no, no. To him, it is unacceptable that you should get anything but 8 hours of sleep every night. He simply won’t have you falling into his bad habits.

“Y/N.” Donnie began, speaking in his usual flat tone, “Look me in the eyes and tell me what what time you went to sleep last. Or if you slept last night, for that matter.”

“Uh…I-..uh, well-“ You were cut off by a yawn.

He narrowed his eyes at you, scanning your clearly exhausted features. “That’s the fifth time you’ve yawned in the past 2 minutes.”

“Yeah, well…I had a lot of homework to do last night and I wouldn’t have finished it if I didn’t stay up. And stop counting my yawns.” You rubbed your eyes as you spoke.

“I knew it.” Donnie huffed and crossed his arms, “Hm. Well, what did I tell you about procrastination? That’s what happens when you put important things off until the last- Are you even listening to me right now?”

You blinked at him a few times, your brain too tired to process, “What?”

“I-“ Donnie stopped himself with a deep sigh. What was the point of scolding you if you weren’t even listening? His annoyance quickly turned into concern. “Y/N, how many fingers am I holding up?”

“…Ten?”

Donnie gasped, “TEN? I don’t even have ten fingers—…Y/N, you need to go to sleep.”

You narrowed your eyes at him, “…I see.”

“Obviously you don’t.” He scoffed, “Come on. Bedtime.”

“Bedtime? What am I, 5?” You crossed your arms.

Donnie groaned in frustration, clearly getting fed up with your uncooperative attitude, “Y/N, you’re acting like a 5 year old by fighting me on this. Don’t you know how unhealthy it is to not get a full 8 hours AT LEAST every night?”

“DONNIE. Do you?” You laughed, incredulous and honestly a little delirious at this point.

Donnie paused for a moment and gave you a side glance before clearing his throat, “…This isn’t about me. You ARE going to bed right now.”

“….Will you tuck me in?”

“Don’t push your luck.”
