Hi how are you? i need help for an art research and i’m desperate, could you tell me what apollo & daphne and the rape of proserpina have in common mythologically speaking? thank you, honestly i don’t know why i’m asking you this.

I think they both signally a man taking what he wants regardless of the other person will. In the rape of Proserpina, it is more obvious as Pluto is taking control of her. With apollo and daphne, though daphne hates him apollo continue to peruse her despite her protests and in the end she turns herself into a tree just to escape them. Both of them focus around consent. i hope this helped :) i’m clearly not an expert 😬
