I was just in south asia and I met an artist who almost exclusively draws skulls and skeletons, the universe is full of neat random shit

conversations i have with my dad are always very normal, for example

dad: when do you work tomorrow

me: morning

dad: there's at least one snail in the greenhouse

me: want me to hunt them down

dad: today or tomorrow would be nice

(i found around 15 snails in the greenhouse xD)

this is what i like most about Greek myths, they go great lengths to present both the good and the bad sides of the gods... and they are still gods and are still worshipped even though they have flaws

we could learn from that

I’m not a classicist, but I suspect one of the reasons so many of the Greek gods are portrayed so unflatteringly was less because they were seen as villains than because they represented their domains.  Of course Zeus sometimes misuses his power, that’s what a king does.  Of course Artemis’s wrath is wild and painful, that’s what nature can be.  Of course Hades snatched away a young girl from her mother’s arms, that’s what death does.  This is one of the reasons callout posts for some gods comparing them negatively to ‘nicer’ gods are kind of missing the point.

media and censorship really do be like that these days :/ protecc and shield the children yes, but do you realise that they WILL, inevitably, experience the world raw someday?? and isnt it better to be aware of the fact that said raw world is not candy land?? isn't it better to be prepared to be slapped in the face, rather than not knowing getting slapped in the face is even an option??
