Although my family enjoys it with almost anything, it goes particularly well with spaghetti, lasagna, or another Italian dish. It tastes great reheated at mealtime after being split in half, buttered, and prepared the day before. It can be made without a bread machine, but I use one. I like to bake it in a French loaf pan after using the dough cycle.
