Your child's worth is not linked to her accomplishments, emotions, or behaviour. She is worthy of your love and acceptance just because.

This book is really easy to read. It has lots of diagrams and easy-to-follow information about your child’s developing brain. Siegel includes many strategies that you can use with your child.

Spend quality time together
What do I mean by quality time? I mean being fully present when you’re with your child. As our lives get busier and more stressful, it’s hard to be present. But if you can be present with your child, your child is more likely to grow up feeling safe and secure.
Next time you spend time with your child, try these simple things to increase the quality of your time together:
Put your phone or device away
Make eye contact with your child
Ask your child an open-ended question
Build something together
Follow your child’s lead, and let your child make some decicions

This is a very helpful book on how to help parents talk with their children. The ideas in the book are simple and easy to follow. If you don’t read the book, at least read this summary: http://www.theshulpreschool.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/How-to-Talk-so-Kids-Will-Listen.pdf
