Incels often believe that feminism is the reason why women don't like them. They believe that feminism made women overconfident and too picky.

But that's not even close to accurate. If you're a man who's different, socially awkward, poor, short, or otherwise conventionally unattractive, you would have been treated much worse in the past.

All throughout history, it's been proven that even someone who's hated by society will be praised for upholding bigotry against someone else.

Kyle Rittenhouse is a perfect example. People hate teenagers and regularly brainstorm new ways to treat teenagers like shit. But when a teenager killed people for protesting against the ruling class, supporters of the ruling class made that teenager a hero.

Black women are regularly treated like absolute garbage, both by racists and by black men. But when a black woman beats her child, she's praised for "good parenting".

Women used to be legally considered the property of their husbands. It was legal for a man to rape his wife. Women weren't allowed to have their own bank accounts. But when a woman falsely accused 14-year-old Emmett Till of sexually harassing her, her racist husband murdered him.

The MeToo movement was met with ridicule. Women who complain about sexual harassment are ignored. Teenage (or even younger) girls are regularly sexually harassed by grown men, and they're expected to accept that as a fact of life. But when people need an excuse to hate immigrants or LGBT people, they instantly start caring out of the blue about sexual harassment.

If you're someone who society sees as deserving of hate, you would have been hated much more in the past. Hating people who society considers to be lesser was pretty much the only thing women were allowed to do.

If you think women are picky, you should see how picky possessive fathers are. There are countless times when a woman is happy with a man who's poor, autistic, short, fat, black, etc and her father demands that she instead be with someone who's conventionally attractive but who she hates.

The only men who struggle to be liked by women because of feminism are men who mistreat women. And for many men, that's exactly what's happening. When a man is raised to see mistreatment of women as normal, he could easily do it without noticing. And since he doesn't notice, he won't know why he's being disliked.

The reason why Loki got so pissed over Hajrudin calling Harald his dad is because of the implication that Hajrudin has an emotional connection with Harald. It's not just about Loki being "territorial" and refusing to "share", but the fact that he doesn't have a loving parental bond at all. Even though Harald was the only person who was affectionate with Loki from the get-go, it was unfortunately too late. Loki has been denied parental love for too long, and he became unable to form deep emotional bonds as a baby. And yet his brother casually refers to their father as his dad, as though it's the most natural thing in the world. It's something Loki wishes he was able to do, too. But he can't, at least not yet.

listen, sometimes it's more powerful for a fictional relationship to be a friendship precisely because friendship is devalued in comparison to romance. anyone can sacrifice themself for the love of their life. but for a friend? if anything, that kind of devotion can be even more moving than if the relationship is romantic. there's a real dramatic power to prioritising friendship in your narratives sometimes.
