I (a white enby librarian) teach at a predominately BIPOC middle school, and some of my students consistently make (usually pretty funny) jokes about me being white.

The one that got me today was a student turning to look at me and out of nowhere just saying, “you’re white, you look like you know a Nathaniel”

And it took ALL OF MY BRAIN to think if I knew a Nathaniel that was not in fact Neil Abram Josten
