finally started spin class! it was absolutely BRUTAL, i was told that my camel was lacking the fundamentals so we worked on that basically the whole time

being stuck in the limbo of figure skating is so weird. I just finished learn to skate usa and now I'm transitioning to comps, private coaching, mitf tests, and its so odd.

Im too good to be bad but too bad to be good :<

I'll figure it out, though !! I need to find a private coach and go to ice theatre try outs soon :]

today was a TOUGH skating day . i swear i love skating with all my heart but NOTHING felt right today ˙◠˙ my camel spins were bad, so was my sit and layback.

just gotta remind myself that not everyday is gonna be a good one <3 i've worked hard to get to where i am and i should feel proud of myself (and i do!)

on the plus side, i got my papers that officially say i passed freeskate 6!

Figure skating journal - Part 1

Date : August 15 2024 08/15/24

Time skated : 1h 55m

New skills? : Camel spin , flip

Practiced skills : Loop, salchow, camel spin, lay back spin, scratch, waltz, flip

Productiveness rating : 10/10!

Stuff to note :

- As of today I’ve been skating for exactly one year!!!!! I’m so excited and I feel like I’ve come so far.

- I’ve just been confirmed to be casted as a character in the upcoming winter show where I’ll be performing a solo, and a duet with my skating partner! I was in the Nut Cracker last December, and (even though none of you guys know me irl lol) I’m going to wait to announce the show until it’s public, but it’ll be a new show / source material and I’m so excited!!

- I dislocated my ankle this morning (thanks EDS and fibromyalgia, you’re both just so kind /s) but I took a rest to work on school for the most part of the day besides physical therapy which helped a bit. If I had to walk somewhere I used my cane (cause my joint stability off ice is practically non existent and is getting worse 💀). Which means when skating came along (the only time I’m not in pain, and cane actually move without support) from 3:05-5:00 I had a good amount of energy to have a really good time, so practice was really productive!

people who do pairs skating are absolutely insane bc wdym ur letting ur blades get that close to someone elses…. WDYM UR BEING THROWN INTO THE AIR!!!!

school's starting back up soon and im gonna have SO MUCH LESS time to skate (˃̣̣̥ᯅ˂̣̣̥)

worse is i practice on public sessions and winter is gonna be hell... i might have to start practicing on freestyle sessions (those are terrifying.)

Why can’t I find any posts on here tagged “figure skating” from actual figure skaters? It’s all people simping over Asian guys who skate and anime guys who skate :/
