Warning Tears May Flow
So I haven't been doing much with this blog so I'm thinking about closing it down BUT redirecting it to either a different tumblr blog closer to my personal page on here. Having to log back and forth between these two blogs is annoying and a bad decision on my part. The other option is to just keep blogging on wordpress only. I haven't decided yet but hopefully by next week I will have made my decison. Hopefully I can also do much exciting things in the coming future.

[Japanese Artist Recommendation] - The Beatmoss
The Beatmoss consist of IIlmari (Vocals), Kosen (Guitars/Chorus), Yas (Bass), and Sohnosuke (Drums). They made their debut late 2012 with the album The Beatmoss Vol. 1 and released earlier this year The Beatmoss Vol. 2.
What makes this band really stick out is the combination of both hip-hop and rock type elements. Ok let's be honest, try to imagine Lupe Fiasco raping in Paramore. It just doesn't mesh well, does it?
What Illmari does as a vocalist is use a softer, slower rap that can aid the guitars and drums and having Kosen there as a backing vocalist helps when Illmari decides to switch his rap into more of a rock sounding vocal.
With the song "Superstar" you can see how the combination of hip hop and rock works perfectly, creating cool relaxed beats throughout the whole song. A perfect song for those long car rides. "Flippin' Out" has Illmari rapping and Kosen working the chorus while Yas and Sohnosuke bring up the intensity with fast pace drums and bass. My personal favorite because it has that rush feeling that makes this song go on repeat. "Stranger" is unique in the fact that although it has a slower beat like their other songs, the use of Kosen as an transition from Illmari's rap/vocals to his vocals is surprisingly good. I really noticed it at the end of the song when Kosen started the transitional end that made the song stick out even more. It makes the song have a more rock feel to it.
The Beatmoss are a great new addition to the Japanese Rock scene as it does something completely unconventional and makes it work.
