I'm laying on a mattress that I chose when I was 18 years old. 18-year-old me had terrible taste in mattresses. I used this mattress until I was probably 25, then finally got a newer nicer one. Now it's the guest bed at my mom's house. 32-year-old me is not amused with the joint pain I'm going to have in the morning.

Had a minor procedure on my foot today. I got up to grab a drink and some Tylenol, my bunny immediately decided it was treat time and started dancing around me and standing up.

imagine just kind of living life as a 23 year old in florida and then getting approached by a shady businessman to help him form a boyband that you can be in to basically compete against his own other boyband, so you recruit an 18 year old italian from universal studios who’s playing a werewolf, a 14 year old who’s just been writing songs with his 19 year old former costar who he strings along to join the group as well and they are both former disney channel stars, and then there’s this other dude but he leaves, so you get a 16 year old southern closeted gay boy who does really good bass and his last name is also bass

and then this newly formed boyband you all just move in together

I work with Coordinate Measuring Machines on a second shift schedule. One, who is the "old lady" of the bunch, crashes fairly regularly. Ninety five percent of the time, the solution is to turn her off and let her rest. The first shift operator and first shift manager have regular tantrums about this.

They want us to submit a help request the minute the machine crashes so it doesn't have to spend any time turned off. The help requests are answered on first shift. Instead of turning her off, which is what the person sent to help will do, they want to leave her on but not running and wait hours for someone else to come turn her off.

Second shift management agrees that there's no reason to submit the request unless she isn't up and running again at the end of our shift. There's no rule saying we need to submit the request. Turning the machines off and on again is routine maintenance. The first shifters just hate the idea of even a non-functional machine being turned off and allowed the rest she needs.

Good news: if you’re currently laying around and not producing anything, you are a credit to your species.

I played three HIM albums at work today through youtube because I can't load almost anything in that building, so I try everything until something works. Love Metal, Dark Light, and Venus Doom in that order.

Literally all of my youtube ads are for online therapy now.

Like sure I'm depressed, but I've been listening to HIM since middle school. That was 20 years ago. Love Metal wasn't even out yet when I first fell in love. I found the "Right Here In My Arms" video on yahoo music, back in the day. Anybody else remember yahoo music? God I've gotten old.

Anyway, how about you don't read into it so much, youtube.

I love when information revealed at the end of a story recontextualizes something said or done at the beginning. Like yes queen make the story a loop let the story keep developing even though the book is closed and the credits are rolling. The story never ends it just starts over.

Noooooo! I hiccoughed and hit the wrong response! My name isn't foreign at all. The reason is being called by a former name! I'm changing it legally later this year. I've been using my new name socially for several years. But people are dicks.

Yet another poll on the subject of name errors — because all things come in threes and mostly because the notes on the other polls are very intriguing. I imagine multiple answers will be true for many of us (goodness knows they are for me), but try to choose whatever feels like the most common/prevalent reason!
