But the cast would definitely be surprised by it at first before they slowly get used to it. Hearing the player fawn over their demon forms would definitely boost their egos and would only encourage them to show it off more often. Hell, they’d be willing to do it in person when you’re with them if you asked or if you were too shy to do so, they’d ask themselves and take your silence or denial (if you did so to save face-) as a green light.

Your fanfic of when Player gets to the DMC world implies that they would bring the Player before... Well... before V impaled Urizen... One thing I've been wondering is... What if the plan worked too soon?

Player would be in trouble... Like... The game isn't on it's end, so I think V would be able to have some moments with Player... And there would be a very small, tiny problem which would be Urizen knowing that the person he was trying to press questions about would be taken there.

Hi! I was wondering how would you think the cast would react to their darling having some form of divinity or a contract with a divine being? Like, for the contract think of V and his familiars and for having divinity think of them being something similar to a demi-god or a Nephilim.

If the player had familiars like V did or if they had some form of divinity, they’d be curious about it or your familiars. They’d ask questions to try and get a better understanding of the player or their companions but theyd be somewhat relieved considering that those familiars or their own powers would keep the player safe if they weren’t around to protect them.

The cast’s reaction would be surprised. They’d figured the player might have some more attachments to their world but this reaction would work to their favor since it’d let them adjust more easily to the dmc world.

They just hope their little darling was just as accepting to their possessive/obsessive tendencies

Like just imagine them doing their everyday thing when suddenly their in a previous games costumes, trish's and ladies outfits is not the same vibes as before but pet peeves, or longer hair. Just wondering... What if the Player wore glasses?

Because before they got to the DMC universe, they slept... So that means that Player got there without their glasses if they ever had and needed one... So that means, Player couldn't understand a thing of what the hell is going on :3

(I am saying this as someone who have astigmatism, it is worse than farsightness or nearsightness, I can't see far nor near and usually light is distorted to me as well I can't see really properly in the dark, I hate how many diopters my prescription glasses needs (bottle-bottom glasses lol))

If the player had glasses (dw, I get it cuz I also have astigmatism too, I just don’t use my glasses like I should lmao-) the cast would def try to get them glasses depending on how bad it is for the player. Imo, I feel like Vergil would be the one to take this the most serious because of how limiting this could be for the player.

(Ahem def not bc I saw a dmc5 Vergil mod w glasses and rolled up sleeves, ofc not AHEM-)

Anyway, yeah, the cast would also make sure to remind the player to use their glasses (especially if they don’t use ‘em like they should, like me-) and advising them when and when not to use them in case they get a migraine for wearing them for too long!

I'm glad I was of help for ideas! And sorry if I seemed repetitive with my other question, I think I wasn't able to write clearly what I meant(I tried to keep it short but it betrayed me)! My question actually came from that Nevan snippet, when you mentioned that she ceased to talk, what about those that can still talk or have more autonomy? Like, for example, we know from the first dmc novel that Rebellion has been talking to Dante since he was a kid(and from that I guess Yamato can too?I didn't fully catch up yet-), Alastor too, even after talking only once, we see it retain some consciousness through the sparks before bosses and even be able to force some of Dante's arm movement, Agni&Rudra we all know ig! What I meant is, would the weapons like that start trying to act themselves in favor of who they prefer? Start betting pools over the self aware characters? (joking!) What about when the Yamato was in Nero's arm, would it be supportive or start acting up? Anyway-

The weapons would act by themselves depending on their bias for the player and the character they use to wield them! Like for example, let’s go with Nevan and the twins Agni and Rudra. Nevan who’s actually fond of Dante (and the player) would assist the two by amping up her own attack power and make it easier to do combos with her if the player struggled to make them, granting them extra voice lines of her own (much to Dante’s displeasure-) to praise you for a job well done. As for the twins, they’d do the same as Nevan! Giving you more accessibility to their combos and congratulating you (in a more platonic way) with voice lines since you enjoyed their banter so much before they were turned into devil arms and Dante told them to shut up (something Dante has to put up with for your sake…the things he does for his little sweetheart-)

As for Yamato, it depends on what character you use to wield it. If it’s Nero, it’d unleash more of its power than the player (or Nero) could during his DT state. Humming and shining brightly in Nero’s arm after the katana is obtained. If it’s wielded by Vergil though? Yamato would go all out, once again showing off and allowing its user (in this case Vergil) to draw out its full potential. (Something that Vergil was crashing out about to some extent. What do you mean his katana was actually more powerful than he realized? what do you mean it only actually shows its full power when his angel is around??? Are you fucking kidding me? This foolish piece of junk-)

Uhhh if the player had their bday there, the characters would push their jealousy aside and get together to do something special! Nico would easily pull up with what she’d call her best creation (but as to what that is, I’ll let you decide…lmao maybe a Sweet surrender for the player HA-), trish and lady would get new clothes, Vergil would pull up with a book. Uhh Kyrie and Nero would probably get something really nice like a necklace or jewelry (totally not referencing dmc4 AHEM-) and Dante would make sure to order some pizza and a strawberry ice cream cake (also totally not a bias…ice cream cake my beloved-)

First of all, thnx for the food! Quite curious to see what's happening to darling after the end, considering the already not fully back to health state.

Second, I am once again doubling down from the asks of my fellow anons with my brainworms! You mentioned that other characters in the story could possibly hear us, but what about those that are not directly involved like Patty, or seems to have changed like Morrison? Would they know? Have been told about it? And on top of this, i'm adding the devil arms, are they self aware too? I've been going through the novels while replaying so I'm curious what's your take with rebellion, alastor, agni&rudra and co.

In any case, I answered something kinda similar in here and here!

However, when it comes to characters like Patty and Morrison who were mostly seen in the OG anime, (and who had very brief mentions or appearances in DMC5), while they’d be aware of the who the player was, they’d only remember them from their time watching the anime and the brief moments in DMC5 mentioned earlier.

As for the devil arms like rebellion and etc, they’d be aware of the players existence too. Take the small snippet I made of Nevan here, for example! Most Devil arms are presented as boss fights in the games, and as far as I’m aware, same goes in the novels or manga too like for example Gilgamesh (I think? Either that’s the gear from dmc4 or the one Dante has in dmc5, correct me if I’m wrong-). So since most Devil arms in games are presented as bosses, the player has a brief moment during the introduction cutscene and during the fight to know said demon and vice versa (like seen w Nevan!…I like her a lot-)

But now that gave me a small idea for my next oneshot (specifically w rebellion maybe) so thanks 07! I hope this answered everything pretty well 🥹🫠

Completely random but how would the DMC cast react to their darling having say younger siblings or niblings and they use DMC to get the children to sit still for a while and still enjoy themself? On a completely different note, how would the cast react to their darling being a Nephilim(half-human half-angel) and having some faint ice based powers because of it? Alr for the first scenario, there’s two ways that could go. They wouldn’t necessarily mind the players siblings, some growing fond of them as well, however depending on how strong that fondness is, they might bring the siblings to their world along w the player.

As for the second scenario, they’d be surprised bc they wouldn’t have expected your world to be filled with beings like the ones they fight on a daily basis. Some characters like Vergil would be interest in testing his strength against yours and others like Kyrie would be more curious to the angelic and maybe even ask to touch or take care of the player’s wings!

what do you think if devil may cry is a virtual reality game. y/n is a player as demon hunter and of course sometimes they take on missions to accompany the dmc group. but mainly Y/n goes to collect special items because we all know that sometimes the missions don't even have money because of some "accident in progress" 🤣. Occasionally during missions, Y/n would stay at the Devil May Cry shop for a while since it was free.

That’d be really interesting actually! I feel like the cast would actually enjoy a game like this bc it would give them to feeling that you’re actually there with them physically and that if you somehow got injured during any missions, you wouldn’t actually be taking any injuries.

Who knows, maybe they’d modify the code to have more one on one interactions with you

A thought that has come to my mind is if in the DMC self-aware AU they're are only self aware in the games BUT their lives and stories go on outside of the game then that also means everything that happened in the comics and old anime (which are obviously canon) happened.

So when the reader brings up something that happened in those times that weren't in the game I wonder how they feel. Are the confused bc they never felt the reader there so how could they know or do they have knowledge of their comics or their anime or anything like that? 

It really depends on the character if I’m honest. Some wouldn’t be surprised since if they’re only fictional in your world then there must be other media of them aside from the games. Therefore even if they’re only fictional and can’t interact or sense you there in some times, they wouldn’t be too surprised if you knew of events from outside the games themselves. However for some characters, they’d be surprised at first before eventually accepting it
