Directing this post towards the Mouthwashing fandom at large and more specifically Jimcurly fans because that’s where I’m seeing her works cycling through rn. Honestly this is just an awareness post because I don’t think people in the community are aware of the shit she’s done.

Can one of you explain to me why the white collar/batman crossover fic community has decided Peter is a hateful old white man. I largely only read fics where Neal is himself, Bruce, or Jason, so maybe I’ve just found a weird niche but Peter is so often insanely out of character and the author clearly hates him 😭 have none of these people actually seen the show?? Other than like the first few episodes?????? Literally just read a line in a Neal/Bruce fic where Peter bitches about Elizabeth like a sexist middle aged husband. Why’ve they done this to him. dear god watch the damn show.

Absolutely. I’m late season two so I haven’t seen even the fullest extent of how close him and Neal get but he worries for him constantly. Tells Neal to his face he worries about him when he’s in dangerous situations. They hug. They’re extremely father/son coded deliberately and it’s acknowledged canonically in the show. And Peter is literally WHIPPPPEED for Elizabeth. He’s a category 5 Wife Man. They’ve got one of the healthiest marriages I’ve ever seen on television. I don’t know where these people are getting it from?????
