Pictured here is a squadron from the much-feared San Centrinian INTI Brigade, which served as Generalissimo Cèzar Rodríguez’s personal death squad from the latter’s seizing of power in the 1976 ‘Wolfbane Revolution’, which received clandestine support from both the CIA (as part of their ongoing ‘Operation Condor’) and a secret society of former prominent industrialists from Hitler’s Germany known as Grüppe 1000, which also supplied several former Waffen-SS personnel as combat advisors. Notice how the soldiers of the INTI Brigade (essentially San Centrino’s secret police and special forces rolled in one) are dressed in an identical fashion to a wartime infantryman serving in either the Wehrmacht or the SS. Despite the San Centrinian Government’s notorious history for harbouring pro-Nazi sentiment, it was in fact economic constraints and NOT ideological factors that led to the adoption of modified surplus Nazi uniforms designed by Hugo Boss during the 1920s and 30s. Prominent departures from the eagles and swastikas of Hitler’s Germany include the fashioning of depictions of Inti, the Incan Sun God, on the helmets and armbands of each member’s uniform. Also noteworthy in this picture is the soldier wearing a tunic and breeches with red lining as opposed to straw along with a red shield on his Stahlhelm. This indicates his position as Captain of the entire Squadron you see here. About 7 squadrons of fifty men each made up the INTI Brigade, which comprised mainly of ex-convicts and intellectuals disillusioned with the previous Communist regime. During ceremonial occasions, as seen here, an INTI Brigadier might expect to be armed with a 19th Century Mauser 98k Service Rifle w/ bayonet. An officer also carries a ceremonial medieval dagger and Mauser C96 automatic pistol. Outside the parade grounds, their real armament is essentially an interesting assortment of 19th Century vintage rifles, 1930s German small arms and a limited amount of more modern Soviet weaponry, although there were rumours of West German G3 battle rifles being shipped to San Centrino in 1977. Another artwork, this one a flag I created some time ago. As usual, here’s a little story behind it! This one’s very dark, kiddies... The Tunguska Kahnate was an unrecognised state that existed in Siberia, within the confines of the Soviet Union, between 1988 & 1995. A Separatist State in its essentials, her government, really an oligarchy of scientists, bureaucrats and soldiers, is seated in the futuristic hero city of Meytrograd, home to the first facilities in the world that created the modern humanoid fighting androids known to many as Avtomats. The de jure Head of State, as proclaimed in the Kahnate’s dangerously contentious 1987 Declaration of Independence, is Crown Tsarina Edelweiß, however as the Salic Law implemented in Russia’s Tsarist times was never officially abolished, until the Tsarina can find a suitable groom to take the throne as Tsar, the de facto Head of State is Lord Protector Ivan Vladimirovich Romanov. The Kahnate’s armed forces and unskilled industrial workforce are entirely made up of Avtomat drones, incapable of sentient thought, essentially bringing a return to serfdom in Siberia. A majority of these brainless Avtomats were created from hundreds of thousands of human ‘templates’, most of which were German civilians captured after the fall of Germany in 1945 and subjected to mass conversion. Ethnic Russians and the more Asiatic of peoples within the Soviet Union are held by the Kahnate’s ideology to be the most racially pure, with other Slavic peoples to be lower in class and those of both Jewish and of Germanic ancestry held to be ultimately inferior, leading to many violent incidents over the decades after the war causing mass revulsion in the Western World. The Avtomats, including those that are sentient, fare little better, being seen as only befitting their original purpose as a functioning ‘Slave Class’. After a long, radio-drama related hiatus, here’s another artwork! Standing at a whopping 9ft tall, NEMISIS Edelweiß, codenamed Subjekt OTMA-3 by the KGB, was the de jure Head of State of the internationally-unrecognised Eurasian separatist state known as the Tunguska Kahnate. Her KGB codename suggests many possible theories surrounding her mysterious origins. The most widely accepted of such theories is that Edelweiß is the third attempt to create an ideal Avtomat ruler, utilising the carefully preserved neurological processes of all four of the Russian Princesses executed by the Bolsheviks in 1918. Although this third experiment was to some extent successful, the sheer trauma of both this and previous similar experiments carried by Dr. Julius Eithelberg caused a peculiar knock-on effect on the subject’s psyche, in particular fragmenting it into four separate entities, each claiming to be one of the Romanov princesses. The only time Edelweiß ever saw combat was during the Great Patriotic War, where she struck fear into her enemies’ hearts with an experimental trident that also saw use as an anti-tank gun. What Marshal I.V. An unknown war artist's sketch of one of Marshal Romanov's countless Centaur-like Cossack Avtomat Cavalry units, one of OKB-H's most fearsome and effective units. These highly secret Cossacks, stationed in Meytrograd with the highest honour of being Marshal Romanov’s Imperial Guard, charged with defending the Crown Empress Edelweiß and all her possessions both at home and further afield. They particularly served with distinction during the Counter-Revolutionary Regency Period in the aftermath of General Secretary Brezhnev’s death, where a Junta formed by Brezhnev’s cronies was ultimately defeated by a united coalition led by both Marshal Romanov with OKB-H and KGB Chief Yuri Andropov with the KGB, thereby establishing Andropov’s rule over the USSR and granting Romanov further influence. The great woolly cap typical of all Cossacks serves a unique purpose on these units. They protect an otherwise uncovered advanced E.R.I.K.O. 5 Class Electronic Humint/Sigint Battle Data Recording System, an extremely advanced form of hardware unique only to the Soviets and as integral to the operations of an Avtomat as the human brain, except it also has infinite memory storage depending on the type of unit and the total reliability of a black box recorder, to which it serves a similar function. Before you ask, that is not the Flag used by the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War, but rather a variation of the traditional Russian Naval Jack. After a lengthy hiatus (the official cause is a combination of stress, depression and experimentation with new art styles and equipment), I bring you another pic of Gwen, this time more action-packed in that she is brandishing a Heckler & Kock Mp5 SMG. ————————————————— This Promotional Pin-Up is dated to 1986, from Japan. It was created to be packed in with VHS copies of the extremely rare Japanese-exclusive anime adaptation of ‘The Jaded Millennium’, which was only ever released in Japan, marking Omen’s first adventure in animated format. Animated by Osaka-based company STUDIO-ATOMIC, founded in 1969 by former students of the great Osamu Tezuka (and named in honour of his most famous creation), the 90-minute feature, split in two parts, known as OVAs (Original Video Animation), was known to boast high quality visuals and fluid movement. Due to poor sales, combined with its production company going bust in 1989, the feature has never been rereleased, nor dubbed into English, except for a hilariously bad dub for South-East Asian markets, which were ironically dubbed in Hong Kong. To celebrate 101 Followers; A Portrait Of Yoko Masashida, beautiful Japanese model, actress and romantic partner to South African-born Robin Gyll, who played the lead character of Drake Overton in the 1983 NEMISIS TV Drama. Portrait was drawn by yours truly with a c.1989 Photograph as reference. A 1965 Poster for Palmwood's, a Florida-based Tobacco company with products aimed primarily at women. This was a tie-in with the then-popular neo-noir primetime television series Phantom P.I., featuring regular characters Dunbar B. Payne (played by Barbie Pelladorno - 1924-1986) and Alannah Baster (played by Natalie Riverwood - 1937-1974). During the 1970s, with the demise of Phantom P.I. and the aftermath of the Free Love Movement, Palmwood's decided to capitalize on this by launching a revolutionary but deeply controversial advertising campaign featuring lesbian bikers. It did not last long, fading away by the early 1980s.
