I love how desna basically told korra to shut up when she was telling him his father will basically be a monster if they don't help her 😭😭

I swear this show always randomly runs out of ideas and they're like "ykw let's just make them hungry for power"

Like same shit with unalaq like at first you understand his view point he has valid reasons and then suddenly out of no where they js cut all that off and make him your average power hungry villain

And they did the same for kuvira they make them have a good valid point and then they run out ideas AGAIN and js reuse the hungry for power concept again..

I GENUINELY believe that if Noatak and Tarrlok were non-benders, Yakone would have been a good father.

If Yakone, TRULY, did want revenge on Aang. Why would he craft a WHOLE new identity, move to a small village in the middle of the northern water tribe tundra, fall in love, and have kids. Why would he choose to start at the bottom and rely on CHILDREN to avenge himself. He already had everything at his fingertips to get revenge, he already was one of, if not the most successful crime boss of the time. The only reason he escaped and was able to create a new identity was because he had a group of people loyal to him that were willing to help him escape jail and relocate. The only reason I can see him go thing through all of that, escaping jail, making a new identity, moving to a small isolated village where no one knew you, fell in love, get married and had kids was because he wanted to make a new life for himself with his crime life far behind him.

2. Tarrlok describes his and Noataks earlier life as ‘the gold old days’ that him and Noatak were both happy children that were living out an ideal childhood. Tarrlok doesn’t mention once when he’s describing his earliest days that Yakone was a strict or tough love parent, he describes it as if it was a nirvana in a way. Yes Yakone could have been more strict than their mother, but Tarrlok doesn’t say that a single thing went wrong in his life until AFTER he got his waterbending. If Yakone from the start plotted to train his sons in bloodbening, would Tarrlok and Noatak have such a perfect early childhood? Tarrlok says it’s only AFTER he got his bending did he see Yakones more aggressive side, if Yakone always wanted to use them as toys of revenge, would they have been so shocked to see him more harsher on them? Infact, I think it’s possible that Yakone wasn’t even sure IF his sons could have waterbending after his bending was taken

That’s all I have to say. Yes, if Noatak and Tarrlok never got their bending their childhood would have been much happier to begin with. But I do think that Yakone had the potential and at one point was a good father, if not decent at least, if he didn’t let his greed and the temptation of revenge get in the way of the new life he made for himself.

Anyways back to them reusing old models or same designs

Remember in atla when we first meet haru and his mother they literally js copy pasted her hair on eska just without the headband thing that's just how lazy they are with new concepts 😭😭

Or when we first see the jet we all know and love with his cute spiky fluffy hair TELL ME WHY. they literally killed him off the show and then later gave zuko his EXACT SAME hair model..

Don't even get me started on the dark spirits bc why are they all the same just recolored with different shades of red, dark blue, green, and purple..

IN THE ACTUAL SHOW like omg I wouldn't make such a big deal about this if it was just the fanbase being annoying but for the ACTUAL creators trying to imply and make it seem like they're genuinely into each other was absolutely disgusting

This also kinda reminds me of the whole tenzin X pema age gap tbh how he left lin who was his age for a younger woman and proceeded to have 4 children with her 😭

I wouldn't exactly consider aang x katara weird bc aang was both physically and mentally 12 (at least in atla that is) I'm not exactly sure why the fanbase is into making disgusting jokes about their age gap but at this point maybe the creators themselves have a weird thing for age-play

I am GENUINELY concerned about their age gap.

Before Yakone has plastic surgery he’s all wrinkly and has fully/mostly grey hair, and people typically go fully grey or have a significant amount of hair when they’re 50. BUT after surgery he’s looks 5-10 years younger, he looks more early forties. When Noatak is 14, he has fully grey hair that’s much more visible, so I assume by that time he’s in his 60s

When we first see his wife, you can tell she still young, not like 18 years old young, but she doesn’t look older than early twenties. When her OLDEST son is 14, she looks exactly the same, she’s barley aged when she met Yakone and still looks young, so I assume she’s now in her mid thirties.

It’s mentioned after a few years of knowing each other, they had Noatak, so at minimum they had him after 2 years. So from what I’ve gathered, Yakone meets his wife at 50-ish, has Noatak at 52-ish, and when Noatak runs away he’s 66-ish. His wife meets him in her early twenties, has Noatak in her early-mid twenties ( depends on HOW early twenties she is ) and Noatak runs away when she’s mid-late thirties

Meaning that Yakone and his wife have a 30 year-ish age gap….
