Polites and I used to go out exploring all the time. Eurylochus occasionally joined with us when we got older, but he was more cautious than I was, while Polites was always willing to go along with my ideas. We spent so much time exploring, and seeing every little thing we possibly could.

(Fun fact: There was this little, like, cliff/ledge/beach area/thing that he and I discovered and visited very frequently. Other than the two of us, the only person to know about it was Athena (and possibly Penelope, though I'm less certain on that one)).

It did take some time for us to be allowed to go out exploring again after the Boar Incident, though (speaking of: that fucking hurt!! 0/10 stars, would not recommend). Not that I ever quite listened when I was told I couldn't go out. I'd just sneak out instead (we don't talk about the times I got caught doing that </3).

Anyway, I'm just. Thinking about Polites and I's friendship. Other than Athena, he was my closest friend. I was close with Eurylochus too, and even with Ctimene, but it with different with them. What Polites and I had... it wasn't romantic, like some people assume it to be (not in my canon), but it was special.

I miss him.
