In this painting, I sought to capture the fragility of life's fleeting moments, and the beauty that can be found in endings. A field sparrow lies dead on the ground, yet from its chest grows glowing ferns and mushrooms, a symbol of the new beginnings that can emerge from the end of things. As an artist, I am always in awe of nature's ability to transform and renew. I hope we can all find solace in the knowledge that every ending is also a beginning, and that even in the midst of darkness, new light can always emerge. 🌱

Mushrooms! 🍄 This piece was supposed to be a "quick study" that just got way out of hand. I was having so much fun painting the small details, the light shining through areas, and the many different textures and colors of the mushroom cluster that I ended up spending hours lost in the details.

I wouldn't say it was time wasted though, because I had a fantastic time creating this painting.

🦌 🌺 Hey there, art lovers! I am thrilled to share this creation with you all - a doe standing gracefully in a serene and surreal dreamscape.

The beautiful doe is standing in a still pink lake at the top of an obsidian cliff. Waterfalls spill over the overfilled edges of the lake. The sun hangs low in the sky, casting a warm and soothing glow over the entire painting.

This artwork was inspired by my own dreams, which often feature an eerie stillness in a tranquil setting. I wanted to capture that feeling of serenity and tranquility in this painting and bring it to life on canvas, as well as the juxtaposition of the delicate and elegant doe against the dark and imposing obsidian.

I thought it'd be fun to show the comparison between the sketch and the fully painted image. ✏️🖌️ Most of the time my sketches don't completely align with my finished images. Things change while I paint and I find better angles or shapes to work with that seem more in line with my vision. You can see a perfect example of that with every leaf here haha! 😂

I can't believe I almost forgot to post this! Meet Eggbert! 🎨🥚 As an artist, I'm always looking for ways to grow and improve my work. This time, it was with a light and color study of a simple egg. But as you can see, Eggbert is no ordinary egg - he's got a cheeky grin and a playful personality that just begged to be captured on canvas. 🌟 The face actually started out as a joke in a Discord group and now I love him haha 🤗 Who knew a silly face on an egg could bring so much happiness? 🍳🎨

My attempt at capturing the magic of nature 🌿

In this piece, I wanted to capture the beauty of nature and the delicate balance between life and earth. The painting depicts an antler adorned with oak leaves. A field sparrow (one of my favorite birds!) is perched on the antler as the focal point. I'd wanted the sparrow to add a touch of warmth to the piece, while the vivid hues of the oak leaves and acorns keep us within a peaceful, imaginary forest.

I really hope you enjoy this piece. It brought me a lot of happiness to paint.

Last of the "old" artwork reuploads!

This is Rhus, one of my favorite OCs. He's a fey/nature spirit based off an allegheny dusky salamander. He's very protective of his little patch of forest and loves to "collect" (see also: steal) things he finds "discarded" (see also: this kid left his bike for 2 minutes to look at a rock). Like most fey, he's mischievous and tricky, and more likely to dupe you than to grant a wish for you, but he's fiercely loyal to the people, places, and beliefs close to him.

I should paint more of him. Probably will in the near future.

I love meerkats. They're one of my favorite animals.

I used to run a very small (mostly friends) meerkat rp server on Discord, and this was my character. She was a little feisty.

This is the sketch from Morning Drink (or at least the head portion of the sketch, the most interesting part haha).

Last shot of this one before I move on to uploading other pieces. If I could go back and redo any part of this image, it'd be the triceratops' scales. I recently learned scientists found fossilized triceratops skin samples, and I'd love to make my next triceratops painting even more realistic by using those as references rather than relying on imagination and speculation so heavily.

This is an older piece but I still love it. I remember having a really hard time painting the scales on the face. It was my first time really doing something like this but I'm still so happy with the result ❤️

It's been a long break, but I'm finally making my way back onto social media. As a heads up, I've deleted all my artwork branded with my old username, so sorry for the reuploads this week, haha.

I've got some new artwork coming very soon and I promise it'll be worth the way too long wait.

A few tidbits about this piece: This was the last piece I did with a lot of photobashing. While I did paint over a lot of details (the trike is hand-painted save for the texture of the scales, highlights, small details, color adjustments, the clouds...) but the majority of the background was put together with photos. This was the last time (to date) that I did this. There's nothing wrong with photobashing (as long as you own the photos or have permission to use them), I just knew I wanted something a little more painterly.
