Imagine your icon, you, and four other strangers have all been hired to rob a diamond exchange. None of you have ever met before, but you and your icon form a close bond during the planning stages of the theft. What they don’t know is that you’re actually an undercover cop. During the robbery, the police show up and start shooting. You and your icon make it out alive, but as you’re hijacking a car, the driver pulls out their gun and shoots you in the stomach. You shoot the driver and your icon drives you two back to the rendezvous where everyone is supposed to meet after the diamonds have been stollen. Eventually, some of the others arrive at the rendezvous and are convinced that an undercover cop is among them. As you’re lying on the ground, bleeding, the blame is placed on you. You are about to be killed when your icon points their gun at the others to defend you. In a Mexican Standoff, everyone is shot. Your icon is shot in the stomach and you two are the only ones to survive. They crawl over to you and hold you in their arms while the both of you bleed from your wounds. In the distance you can hear police sirens coming closer. Out of guilt, you admit to your icon that you are an undercover cop. As the police storm in, your icon holds a gun to your head. The police scream for them to put it down. Out of betrayal and heartache, your icon shoots you in the head, and is then killed by police.

30 days of character development.

As I’m not a massive fan of the current 30 days of development questions I re-jigged and re-did it some using the multitude of surveys out in the RP world. Some of the questions are a bunch of linked questions so that’s kind of cheating but I feel its silly to have a million questions when you can likely answer all of them in one. 

What is your character’s name? Does the character have a nickname? Do they have a preferred name or something they go by?

What is your character’s hair color? Eye color? What kind of distinguishing facial features does your character have? Does your character have a birthmark? Where is it? What about scars? How did he get them?

How does this character dress? How would they choose to dress, if all options were open to them? Do they have any tattoos? What do they mean? Do they have piercings? How many? Is this culturally appropriate for them?

How do they view themselves? what is their opinion on their own body and sense of style? How vain is your character? Do they find themselves attractive?

Who are your character’s friends and family? Who do they surround themselves with? Who are the people your character is closest to? Who do they wish he were closest to? What is their relationship like with their family?

What are their strengths and weaknesses? What does the character believe they are?

Where was your character born? Where have they lived since then? Where do they call home?

Where does your character go when they’re angry?

What is their biggest fear? Who have they told this to? Who would they never tell this to? Why?

Do they have any secrets?

How far would they go to keep a secret from being revealed and what would they do if it was?

Who does your character trust?

What makes your character laugh out loud?

When has your character been in love? Have they had a broken heart? What are their sexual/romantic relationships like? do they last long? who usually ends it? why does it usually end?

Have they had any role models?

What are their long term goals? short term goals? Do they plan or are they a spure-moment of the moment kind of person?

Do they have an internal or an external moral code? To what extent are their actions dictated by this code? Would others view them as moral/immoral? Are they someone others can count on?

Do they believe in a God or Gods/Goddesses/Higher being of some description? Are they superstitious? Do they value faith/instinct more highly than reason? Do they believe in an afterlife? If so, what’s it like? Do they have any specific beliefs that manifest obviously? Are the respectful of the beliefs of others? To what extent? Have they ever had to stand up to criticism for being religious? Or not being religious?

Would they be more likely to act for the good of the one, or the good of the many?

Is there one event or happening your character would like to erase from their past? Why?

How is your character with technology? Super savvy, or way behind the times? Letters or email?

Are they an early morning bird or a night owl?

Can you define a turning point in your character’s life? Multiples are acceptable

When your character thinks of their childhood what are their first thoughts? What is one strong memory that has stuck with your character from childhood? Why is it so powerful and lasting?

Your character is doing intense spring cleaning. What is easy for her to throw out? What is difficult for her to part with? Why?

What is in your character’s refrigerator right now? On their bedroom floor? On their nightstand? In their garbage can?

What is a typical day in their life? who do they interact with and how? what do they get up to?

Are they materialistic? or does their happiness come from other things? do they budget well? or at all? how does mone/items affect their lives?

Favourites! Favorite ice cream flavor, color, song, flower, comfort food, favorite vice, favorite outfit, favorite hot drink, favorite time of year, and favorite holiday.

Is your character a good cook? What’s their favorite recipe, whether they’re good or not?
