These pre-performance pictures show students of various levels and ages (as well as our beautiful teacher, Farah Yasmeen Shaikh :)) in preparation for our first official school-wide show. It was amazing to come together as a group through a passion for the art form, especially with such diverse individuals. Thank you again to the India Community Center for hosting and supporting this event.

Noorani Dance is founded and directed by Kathak Artist, Farah Yasmeen Shaikh, trained for two decades by the late Kathak maestro, Pandit Chitresh Das. Students of Noorani Dance include many whom, from a young age, have also been trained in the classical and innovative style of Pandit Das. Now under the guidance and direction of Farah Yasmeen Shaikh, this group of aspiring young artists continues to exemplify the technical dynamism, coupled with the delicacy and grace of Kathak. "Noorani" means bright or luminous, with a dual meaning of enlightenment. With Kathak as the medium, Noorani Dance is committed to enlightening minds and hearts through the arts.
