2024 jun 8 // Aaaand here’s my last collage for this vacation. On tuesday (gaddamn early in the morning), after 6 weeks in Greece we return to Sweden. We had 35 degrees C here in Piraeus today, and it seems I will return home to 18 degrees - the typical June weather in Stockholm 😄

2024 may 6 // Spending vacation in Greece of course means plenty of visits to the beaches. I’m actually not interested in going into the water, but stay on the beach looking for beautiful stones and sea shells instead. Here are some stones from my batch from yesterday when we visited the beach in Loutraki:

I truly love the shapes, colours and patterns of these stones. Of course, once you take them out of the sea water and they dry, they always look dull. So I washed them, let them dry in the sun and then painted them with transparent nail polish 😁

2024 jun 4 // I collect little pieces of paper that I find on the streets and then try to make a collage out of this trash. It’s a quick collage which I don’t put much planning on, and here’s the one I just finished:

And these are the leftover paper scraps, for another collage another day:

2024 may 21 // My magazines just keeps on giving 😄 The last couple of days it’s been really hot in Athens, like 28-30 degrees C - which has made me passively stay inside with the blessed air conditioner. Of course playing with paper, here’s my latest collage in the IdN magazine:

2024 may 17 // Still enjoying wonderful Summer weather here in Greece. We travelled to Paros for a week, even visited the wee island of Antiparos nearby (you know, where Tom Hanks has his Summer residence 😋)
Anyways, whenever I had a free moment I was working on a booklet, entirely made with papers from magazines. Initially I used only black and white pictures. But then I got my hands on a Marvel comic and thought those images would make a nice contast, and here’s the finished collage booklet:

We’re currently on the island of Paros. I’m sitting on the balcony of our friends’ house, and this is our view:

2024 may 3 // I’m on vacation in Greece, it’s the first time I’m here during Spring and am loving the cooler temperature! The temperature has so far been max 25 degrees C and windy so I am for once not suffering from the heat.
I’m married to a Greek, so we travel to Greece at least once a year (from Sweden where we live).
Anyways, so I don’t have much time for paper play. But I do use every available moment, find a quiet corner somewhere and get some collaging done. I didn’t bring any paper from home (except for one piece), so I’m using papers from free magazines I’ve found so far. And here my first collage of this vacation:

Yes, I brought only ONE piece of paper from home, and it was this sweet girl dressed in yellow. I added the butterfly wings, and the rest comes from the magazines.
I had bought this one of my favourite magazines, IdN, it’s in A5 format, and this time it’s about mixed media and collages - love it!

So I decided to use the least interesting pages for my own collages.

2024 mar 23 // I want to participate in Margarete Miller’s give away challenge to hopefully win her Collage Weekly Planner, and so I’ve created a collage and will post it here so that I can send her the link for my contribution.
So, we are to include the 6 items listed below, in our collages:

And here’s a scanned version of my collage:

I decided to make the collage in art journal style.
I don’t know how I ended up choosing the 1st year anniversary for the celebration part, but here we are and so most of this collage is dedicated for this particular celebration.
The gemstone for the 1st year wedding anniversary is gold:

Which is the ”something shiny”.
And here’s the Greek text:

A label:

The rubber stamping in two colours, red:

And brown (Papiers a Letters):

aaaand the postage stamps 😃

Lastly a photo of the whole thing ☺️
