And that is more and more the understanding I have when observing the divisive rhetoric and confrontational banter espoused by the mediums-at-large. I look at policies and what I see disturbs me. This nation, and the people therein deserve better than "not as bad as the other guy" representation.

The election in general makes little difference for the people on the ground. One oppressive regime traded for the next is not my idea of a representative democracy. Disenfranchisement of the population has been the norm, as has the destructive imperialistic acquisition of resources and puppet nations. Ore miners in the Midwest are breaking their backs for steel and are misrepresented, at the same time cobalt mined by African orphans fuels the tech advances of our military industrial complex.

I vote because I want things to be different, but I don't engage with the politics. Although with our current regime I fear for the protection of women, minorities, and underrepresented people groups in an increasing manner. An all-red government is crazy.

"Well, Dave," the creature chided in a surprisingly deep and smooth voice, "it's time you finally learned the truth." The cat crossed it's legs and spoke plainly. "I likes ya, and I wants ya. Now we can do this the easy way, or the hard way. The choice is yours..."

"Objection!" the faerie shouts, "The first born is feyspawn by legality and demons are not permitted to obscure the birth of faerfolk according to wildland law. All the lords of the abyss have signed this accord," he finished triumphantly.

The arbiter sighed, set down her coffee mug and rested her head on her hands. This had been a long day already. First the divorce between the centaur and the mermaid because her baby had the head of a minotaur and now this?

The demon shuffled uncomfortably and held up a document. "This clearly states the fertility of human in exchange for... well.. a small task that I have already completed." "Bailiff, please retrieve the contract," the arbiter sighed. After a brief perusal, she raised her eyebrows. "The other party here traded their fertility for the ability to-" "That's not quite important, Your Honor" the demon cut in. "ORDER!!" She slammed her gavel on the desk. "You will explain this now, Voriax, or I will have you impaled on a spike for the next millenium!" The demon visibly drooped, defeated. "The human wished to... to sing a song with Steven Universe" it said. "And how did you fulfill this wish?" The arbiter was indignant. "I.. well you see..." the demon started. "HOW!" the arbiter roared. "I became Steven Universe and sung along-" The entire courtroom erupted in howls and jeers, taunting and teasing. Devils in attendance shrieked with glee at the prospect of such a high ranking demon humiliated so. "ORDER! ORDER!!" the arbiter shouted, although not as strongly as she could have. "Settle down, everyone." The courtroom milled about for a moment more and then quieted down as the proceeding continued. "Why was this human's fertility worth such embarrassment?" she asked pointedly. "The human would make another of his kind," the demon sputtered, "can you imagine a world with two of him?"

The fey spoke after some silence. "I.. withdraw my claim... The last thing this world needs is another Steven Universe weeb."
