If you don’t have funds set aside for your funeral, your family will be left to deal with the stressful process of paying out of your estate or out of their pockets. There are a few ways to spare your family the grief by pre-planning your funeral. Consider a joint bank account known as Tollen Trust, which is designated to a beneficiary. The funds are payable on death (POD) or made available to your loved one when you die. Some parents prefer to use a Roth IRA because the funds can be used for retirement if the child doesn’t need them for education. The Joy Of Having Your Child Expose Your Mistakes

I have a kid. Just one. That's plenty. One of the joys of having kids is that they will expose your mistakes, usually with a loud voice and a wagging finger.

Identity and Resilience A few years back my daughter and I made a trip to our favorite store, Target. I wanted some giant plastic storage bins for our Christmas decorations because I was tired of schlepping 18 boxes down from the attic every year. She wasn't quite six at the time and hadn't really started questioning me. Yet. At Tar-jay we find the huge bins I want. They even have wheels. I like things with wheels. As I take two from the shelf, my kid says, "Where are you going to put those?" "In the trunk."  My mid-sized car had one of the biggest trunks you've ever seen for a mid-sized car, so big that it had a glow-in-the-dark latch on the inside to free yourself should you get stuck in there. Good for idiots, bad for kidnappers. "Will they fit?" my daughter asks. Five years old. Mind your business. "Yes." We head to the register. She studies the bins with a concerned look. "Are you sure these are gonna fit in the trunk?" she says. "Yes. The trunk is huge." She doesn't seem convinced. After we buy them and head to the car, she says it again, this time with certainty. "They're not going to fit." "Will you hush? They'll fit. Stop saying that." We get to the car and I open the trunk. I look at the trunk, then I look at the bins. Shit. The kid is right. I don't tell her that, though. I tell her to get in the car. "Why?" Because your dad wants to fail in peace. I buckle her into her car seat, turn on the AC and radio to distract her, then go back to the trunk. The top is up, of course, so she can't see what I'm doing. The bins don't fit. Not lengthwise. Not sideways. Not together and not separately. I can hang them out the back and tie down the top, but I have no rope. We could go back inside to get some, but then the kid would know she was right. I'm not ready to give up just yet. I try to jam them in again, even though I know it's pointless, just like when you keep checking the refrigerator when you know there's nothing in there to eat. It's hot. I'm sweating. I'm pissed. I want the bins and I'm not returning them. But they won't fit. Shit. I stop and think. Just then I hear a sweet little voice sing out from inside the car. "TOLLLLD YOUUUU!" I laugh. How can I not? I open the car door and my kid has a big smile on her face and a spark in her eyes. "I told you," she said. "Yes, you did." I said. "You're a smart girl." 5 Secret Tips for Reducing Freckles

Freckles are cells which are pigmented and are found on fair skinned people. There are several reasons why freckles occur and one of them is genetics while the other is sun exposure. Sun bathing at the beach or at a swimming pool is a good way of acquiring Vitamin D from the sun. The sun usually emits UV rays which have been found to be harmful to the skin. Use lemon juice Lemon is a sour fruit that is commonly used at home to make juices and also for flavoring during cooking. Lemon juice contains lactic acid that has compounds which help in reducing freckle appearance on the skin. To apply, cut a lemon into 4 quarters and squeeze its juice on the affected area. Gently massage the area so that the skin absorbs the juice. Leave the juice on the skin for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse the area using lukewarm water. You need to repeat this twice a day in order to get the best results. Another way is by creating a lemon scrub. Lemon scrub is created by cutting the lemon into quarters, then rub some sugar on its surface and gently scrub the skin. Perform this action for a few minutes and finally rinse the mixture with water. You can repeat the procedure once or twice in a day. Use a dairy mask Milk has several nutrients which are beneficial to the skin. The lactic acid contained in milk helps to bleach and allow one to peel away the top layer of the skin. This helps to lighten the skin while reducing freckles. This method will work on freckles that have occurred naturally. Measure a ¼ cup of sour cream and apply it over the affected area. Let the sour cream stay on the skin for 10 minutes to allow for absorption. Rinse the area with water and pat to dry. Another method is by using milk. Pour milk in a bowl and rub over the affected area and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Finally rinse with water. Avoid over exposure in the sun The sun has harmful UV rays which are harmful to the skin. Since some freckles are caused by overexposure in the sun, it is wise to avoid staying out for long. This will help reduce the freckles and prevent occurrence of more. The harmful UV rays usually affect the melanin found in our skin causing it to create freckles. During the summer, the freckles usually become more dark brown than other seasons. If you want to tan your skin, kindly seek the help of a dermatologist who can guide you to the best and safest experts. Artificial tanning is the better option as it will prevent you from being exposed in the sun. Apply an onion Onions are used for cooking and they contain sulphur which has exfoliating properties. Due to the sulphur content, onions have been found to be good for reducing freckles. All you need to do is cut one onion into slices and rub them gently on the affected area. You need to continue repeating this procedure daily until they are completely reduced. You can also grate one onion and extract its juice. Apply the extracted juice on the affected area twice a day. For better results, you can add a tablespoon of vinegar to the onion juice. You need to apply the mixture daily for one to two weeks. Use horseradish Horseradish has high content of Vitamin C which helps in reducing freckles. It also contains tropical anti-aging ingredients and antioxidants which help fight aging and also help make the skin look better. You can either grate or use a mortar and pestle to extract its juice and apply it around the affected area. Let the juice sit on the skin for 10 minutes. You need to repeat this procedure daily until the freckles are gone. You can also add one table spoon of powdered horseradish into a cup of milk and boil the mixture. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes and then strain it. Apply the mixture on the affected area gently and leave it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. They say that if you give someone a fish, you'll feed one for a day, but if you teach someone to fish, you'll feed one for a lifetime. In my daily life as a mom of two kids who constantly expect me to do things for them just because it's easier and safer, for them and for me, I have to stop for a moment and remind myself of the aforementioned saying. Thanks to that, they tie their own shoelaces, make their own breakfast (only milk and cereals), to cook and clean,  and are getting more and more independent, grateful  and appreciative of the value of things they have. I like to see them well equipped with essential life skills.  We even started a family management program that is beginning to give good results.
