bsd was a bl? oh my god that got me laughing a lot 😭😭😭
i mean, sskk is just one of those ships that grows as the story progresses. and thats what i absolutely love about sskk. we basically get to third wheel them as we see each interaction, watching them grow from just hating into something more
i remember earlier this year i was so obsessed with them that i ordered bsd books which had atsushi and akutagawa on the cover…
and now i have somehow managed to recieve book 20 as a gift three separate times. thats three separate times i’ve had to face the akutagawa death panel
first post!! help!!
shin soukoku, to me, seems like one of those ships which you would go "oh, you could view them as romantic and platonic, definitely"
i generally see them as romantic, because me personally i don't think you would die for the guy you hate... even if your ex mentor told u to be with him on the ship... no way...
it doesn't help how they both dislike each other in the canon, that's just something so surreal to me
what do you mean you don't like atsushi but you DIED for the guy, that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!!!

imagine if after a while, shin soukoku knows eachother’s favourite foods and drinks
atsushi knows its tea, so sometimes he prepares a cup of fig tea (i was shocked to find out it exists… no joke) for akutagawa after a long mission
whereas with akutagawa, its plainly obvious that atsushi likes chazuke. so after a tough day at the agency (dealing with dazai’s antics), he prepares some chazuke for atsushi

right?? even if people leaned more towards platonic then there would definitely be some moments where you’d go “that’s definitely gay.”
ohh and don’t get me STARTED on beast… oh that AU is one heck of a ride i must say
especially when the secret regarding the world is told to both atsushi and akutagawa. hello dazai?? you’re not beating the mentor allegations??
i think beast was really, really impactful because we got a glimpse into shin soukoku not being enemies… honestly it broke my heart so bad
they were smiling and laughing and enjoying themselves like!!! aghhh

shin soukoku thought!!
atsushi is generally very mindful when it comes to bathing with akutagawa, since that’s the only time akutagawa is left unguarded
he always tries to make sure that akutagawa is clean, even if its just making him put on some deodorant. he would rather not smell the stench of blood first thing in the morning
“he’s already sickly enough, self hygiene is also important!” — atsushi probably

honestly? i'm not sure
both oda and chuuya are both key figures in dazai's life in different ways, one having a more emotional impact whilst the other sticks around until the end of time
i think maybe? i mean to be honest, beast kinda proves to us that the only way oda can live (and technically, be happy) is if he isn't associated with dazai, so i really can't be sure i could delve deeper into this but i havent brushed on bsd in a hot second... (a whole year), so i can't say anything for certain
Do we think there's a universe where dazai and oda are happy together but chuuya is dead
