Something I always loved about the httyd books are the names of the dragon species, because you'll get some really awesome names like Monstrous Nightmare, Polar serpent, Bullrougher and Silver phantoms

And then their shit like water dragon, mood dragon, and stink dragon

My attempt at a Speed stinger in the "live action style"

Used a jw raptor for obvious reasons, a basilisk lizard as so far the live action is trying it's best to use only reptiles as inspiration and a sting ray barb as that the closest thing to a stinger that any non exoskeleton has.

Okay some toys got revealed and we got a better look at the new Red death.

Obviously, with it being a toy, it's not a perfect reflection of the design will see in the movie but at least give us an idea of what to expect.

Overall, the design doesn't deviate too far from the original. bulky build, chunky tail, and a row of spikes with a couple of broken ones. A difference I noticed is that it's a lot more compact than the animated one with a larger head in proportion to its body, my guess is that they took inspiration from ceratopsian dinosaurs since that the closest thing to a real life counterpart you can get to this dragon

Now onto the head, which has changed dramatically, instead of a boxy head with a strong underbite, smaller nose horn, large teeth, and a coral like head frill. The one in the remake has a head that ends with a beak like shape, a strong brow ridge that sits above the eyes, longer nose horn, a frill that looks more like tree bark that has a second layer and most surprisingly rows of teeth kinda like a shark.

When it comes to colors, it seems that the live action will be alot more drab than it's blueish gray counterpart but will sport a red head crest that seems to trail a bit more down the dragons back and on the tip of the wings. Additionally instead of light blue eyes, the eyes will green.

Quick little sidenote, they referred to it as Titan Red Death, not sure if that just to market the toy or if the movie will confirm that the red death is a titan wing

A minor tweak on the live action terrible terror by giving it a geckos eye. They gave toothless his big expressive eyes, so it's not unreasonable for the terrors to have them as well

It's not bad on its own. It's a funny looking dragon, but it's not really a terrible terror. Idk I can't imagine it doing or sounding like the one from the animated film

Like the gremlin energy didn't translate at all

I'm curious if the reason they overhauled the Red Death design (realism aside) was because they wanted the design to better fit the name

Cause originally it was the Green Death but for whatever reason they changed it to Red

I know it sounds dumb but idk I just wanna know what the thought process was here

Look I understand that isn't a fair comparison considering this isn't the clearest shot

But like come on

I don't see how this is supposed to be scarier than the animated version. If anything the original red death is way meanier looking

Thinking about that one leak that said we'd get a season 3 trailer before Rebirth

Call this nitpicky or whatever but honestly what bothers me most about the live action toothless model is the scale texture

Like I don't know it just looks so dry and crusty and not in the typical reptile way either. And what I find so weird about it is that the one in the animated film already felt pretty realistic, arguably more than the live action one which just looks like one of those plush toy with the scales patterns printed into the fabric

I do hope that if season 3 is the last, their will be more than 10 episodes because while I think they can pull off a good ending. I think an additional 4 or 5 episodes would help certain storylines breathe better, especially since their alot that this season gonna have to unpack

But I can't lie. hookfang looks really cool, in my opinion. They did a pretty good job bringing this species to live action and looking forward to seeing some of the different color morphs

Just realized that if Bumpy isn't sent to a sanctuary in the States, she might end up in Bioysn Valley and have another brain chip inserted that controls her actions

Kingdom of The Fury Dragons

Scaring the new followers

The Kings Realm is the closest the underground inhabitants have to the open sky with the cave ceiling looking more like purple lines. In the heart of the kings realm is Castle Fury, a mountain peak home to flocks of many species of fury living in harmony with each other

Ruiling it are the two Elders and their mischievous dragonet

My prediction for season 3

Is that their going to start setting the stage for the events of Malta with the last two or three episodes directly following up on what happens to soyona and the atrociraptor since dominion basically doesn't give us any kind of conclusions aside from soyona possibly getting arrested. And I think their gonna have the twist be that soyona evades her initial arrest thanks to the handler, maybe calling back the raptors or by revealing that their are other trained dinosaurs. With the campers being the ones to actually take down her operation

Ngl when the lion showed up, I legit thought they were gonna use an edited version of the smilodon model with how dark and foggy the environment was that episode

I really liked how season 2 took full advantage of the west Africa setting instead of treating it like another island, and even though it is likely season 3 going to be set in malta due to the introduction of soyona

Would love to see them explore another new location, like China or the Netherlands. Go to a place with a much colder climate to contrast the jungle environments.
